  • Extraordinary in every way, we catch Mount Baldy's west face in absolutely perfect condition, staring right at Downtown Los Angeles. Can one run change your life? Yes. Yes, it can.
Shot with a GoPro Hero 7 Black (and a crappy iPhone)

How do you determine avalanche danger? Thanks in advance.

that is not an easy question to answer. I have been working on a project to get into how I make those decisions and assessments, in hopes sharing my processes might be useful to others. You might see some of that start appearing later this fall. thanks for asking!

Thanks for the videos. . .from southern B.C. here and enough awesome places around here to keep me busy but never thought you'd have these nice lines on some of the bigger mountains in SoCal. . .will have to bring my skiis next time I'm down around San Diego and L.A. in the winter and early spring months. . .

    Great stuff
In my high school years, 75-77 used to ski Waterman off trail to the west/nothwest and come out on Angeles Crest Highway. 2, 3, sometimes 5 miles down. Then hitch a ride back up to do it again.
Skiers driving up would pick us up and ask where did we come from. We'd just say up there and point. We acted all nonchalant. It was great.
Last couple of decades hasn't seen the amount of snow we had back then.

You do have to climb back up….BUT, at least you get to ski back down!…..and then walk back to the cars.

You did it again ! Beautiful long radius turns on virgin slopes . You capture the pure elation and stoke of skiing . All without quick editing and distracting unnecessary music . The narration is also very good . No goofy commentary . Wish I were there .

Very nice! My only nitpick is the use of the word “powder”. Really?

Almost sounded like “Morning Dew” or a mix btwn “The End” and “Morning Dew”

Anyone doing some Corona-skiing? Avy danger should be low under 8.5k I assume? Thinking to go up tomorow or Friday for some mini runs in the San Gabriels.

Chris there's been a lot of weather out there. I would not assume things are stable. Given everything, my recommendation is to stay home for now.

That stretch of slope beginning around 2:10 looks like the perfect ski experience, pocketed in that valley shape.

Amazing. Looks like the next couple weeks should have lines like this with the storm blowing in. Did you skin up the fire road past the hut to the summit? And it looks like you didn't hike down that gully but went back up?
