James stated in an interview I believe that this was a successor to Enter Sandman and King Nothing.
This song needed the most editing or repurposing, could have been an amazing song
@@charlesbaker7505 it is an amazing song
@@q-petebassin2557 I find most of the songs on this album could be trimmed down. They're too self indulgent and overlong imo. They're just not interesting enough to justify 6-7 minutes.
@@q-petebassin2557 I like the pre-chorus, chorus and intro and that is it
A new verse structure and tempo would make this song top tier on the album but it loses me so quickly
Sandman Trilogy:
1. Enter Sandman
2. All Nightmare Long
3. Sleepwalk My Life Away
It's basically sad but sandman
Nothing wrong with that!
Enter SadMan
@JBPlaysGames1 Yes! Like it
that and it's Now that we're *alive*
Most of the riffs are reworked Metallica riffs from other songs lol
I feel its a sequel lyrically as well. A living nightmare (or sleepwalking while you are supposed to be awake) vs a dreaming nightmare (running for your life while sleeping)
They've been in that narrow blues box ever since. Also your tone is truly amazing.
One riff in Shadows Follow sounds exactly like Confusion and another riff in the same song sounds like Atlas, Rise!
!
72 Seasons = Hardwired… To Self-destruct 2.0
@@unromanoarecareanaveragero8275 Just like Reload = Load 2.0
@@igortokarski9517 Exactly
@@igortokarski9517 The difference being I like Load and Reload... I like Hardwired but I don't think there's a single song on 72 that's more than "okay".
Sounds killer.
It sounds like Enter sandman and Now that we're dead
Since Load you can see those patterns James likes more than others and uses often.
Still less often than any solo Kirk has done for 20 years lol
When i listened to the new album at the cinema for the first time i listened that sleepwalk my life away's riff is very similar to enter sandman by the first notes ahahha (i'm a guitarist) and when i listened to you must burn! i thought that was very similar to sad but true in the complex. but all the album has songs that are similar to each other and I FUCKING LOVE THIS ALBUM
A riff in Inamorata reminded a lot of the main riff in Are You Gonna Go My Way by Lenny Kravitz.
It's hilarious that people actively waste their time to find stuff to hang on this band. All the best to you 😂 life well spent
its hilarious you just wasted that much time typing that for free while also making me money 😂life well spent
lol I work for a major label you unformed twit, also I didn't realize being a male escort could make u that much money
Earlier today I was listening to the beginning part of Shadows Follow and you could so easily overlay the lyrics to Frantic
Exit 2, enter by
Take my 4
So you are saying that parts of the new album sounds like older albums. Kinda like almost every other band like for example AC/DC LOL.
Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Red, lol honestly seems like to me people don't understand that things called style exist. Love to hear their thoughts on Megadeth doing fast Open E note hammer on notes for half their songs in their career
This, slither, King Nothing and Enter Sandman. ;)
Now that Sandman are Sad.
3 song in 1 riff
Nice Smokes Poutine sticker
what guitar do u use?
Classic modern Metallica recycling old riffs
there is only so many power chords. They are kind of key for hard rock and Metal.
@pegasus8727 you don't know what you're talking about
@@pegasus8727 True story
@alvinyakitori8720 Learn to play a instrument and you'll understand that Key of E can only be done so many times
@@pegasus8727 Big if true.
Very familiar!
I do like this song. It washes the nightmare of If darkness had a son away 😂
Don't understand the hate for that song, it's almost Eye of the Beholder pt 2
@@dubjubs i hate the vocal near dissonant part right + the riff after he says the "temptation" part. Also the rest of the song sounds so generic , not standing out. But that's my opinions and I guess i'm not the only one
@@Marcelino1098 Most of the album is very generic. Title track, Shadows Follow, Screaming Suicide. All "stock" Metallica songs.
Now that we’re dead, sandman, sad,
Local Bar Band level achieved
Sounds like every riff they've ever done in that tempo
winner
@@StateOfMercury chicken
Supper...wait FU-
There's a riff from Sleepwalk My Life Away (not this one) that sounds like ManUnkind.
That sounds more like kirk's original sandman riff tapes
Don't forget that the verse riff from inamorata is almost identical to are you gonna go my way by Lenny Kravitz
oh...I haven't forgotten 😈
Masters Of Plagiarism
@chrissperrin7903 Funny because other bands have done the same thing yet don't get the criticism that Metallica do. AC/DC anyone? Repetitive riffs and Megadeth literally tried copying Hit the lights on the new album
It’s the sandman riff lmaoooo
it’s just like played backwards or something idk
@@julianjsarmiento9406 I’m not gonna act like You Must Burn isn’t almost exactly Sad But True either 😂
@@austinbourdages it has the same flow and almost identical drum beat I think as the song goes along it has a little bit of don’t tread
I’ve realised that the tone you use is better than official one. Riffs sound punchier here.
Yeah, idk why James uses that tone..is no good
Exit Light!
It’s “will the real slim shady please stand up”
That would work as a mash up lol
Ding ding ding ding DING…ding ding…ding dilililing ding”
Its hit the lights^^
0:02This is from Enter Sandman. This must be a riff from Enter Sandman. This part is from there
Sounds also like a riff off Hardwired. The one right before the solo. It's just a bit slower obviously. But that's what you get when your riffs consist mainly of E, G, A, B.
king sandman
Sounds like the main riff from Now That We're Dead...
its enter sandman but now that u say it, it does kinda sound like ntwd
backwards enter sandman ??
Listen to chasing light at 2:03, it seems like the AJFAs riff
Totally bro although the dual guitar harmony of the title track also gives a vibe of AJFA
Vocal riff in Inamorata is almost identical Lenny Kravitz
Exit Sandperson?
...die by my hand
Enter sandman 2? Interesting 🤔
prob 4
Enter Sleepman?
Exit SadMan
It's some riff off the Beyond Magnetic EP
I mean, Hell and Back main riff
hi, please never use that "subscribe and hit the bell" green screen thing ever again
Hi no
Enter Sandman
Now That We’re Dead
honestly sounded closer to slither or king nothing
Enter Sadman
Didnt Kirk play something like this this when asked what his first riff was when joining Metallica?
Double the pain by Heaven and Hell
It's close, but still very different
looking at the endless fanboy loadblowing in the comments of the new songs on youtube tells me many of them never heard anything before St Anger lol
lol
Now open „Fleetwood Mac - The Chain” and play from 3:03 and you will hear the middle part of…. 😊 guess what
Eh, who hasn't been influenced by that riff (or the one before it)? I quoted it pretty heavily in one of my songs; I don't see anything wrong with that as long as it's not in exactly the same context.
@@0Fdigital I didn't say that it's wrong, it's such an amazing line
I presume it sounds like Enter Sandman
Yeah
Slither
I thought it sounded like manunkind
Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttt??
Don't tread on Sandman
Sounds a lot like enter sandman
Enter sandman LOL
so has Grandpa James gotten Alzheimer's, gotten lazy or has just ran outta riffs?
Exit sandman
0356
Well both are technically titles about sleep? 😂😅
A Metallica song sounds like a Metallica song. Wow, what a revelation.
Who's next Slayer? how many of thier songs have the same gallop? 🤣
I mean it’s still Metallica right haha
It reminds me Megadeth - Junkie.
Enter Sleepwalk
Enter sandman backwards.
Lars doing that same drum part doesn't help it
Been listening to them since 1984, Their new sound blows.
cringe boomer take
Been listening since 2004. Their new sound blows.
@@BourbonBandit- that's Gen X, ass wipe. started in "84 as well and if my x-wyf blew 1/4 as hard as Alzheimer's-tallica, i might have given half a damn when she left.
The fact that Inmorata is basically Lenny Kravitz Are You Gonna Go My Way is so funny to me
Pentatonic abuse.
man is abusive af fr
We gonna talk about how Imorata is just groove metal Lenny Kravits?
yes...but not today
Metallica used to actively try NOT to recycle riffs, but now it's like they do it on purpose.
No they fucking didn’t. Listen to Blackened, behind the solo. It’s the riff from For Whom the Bell Tolls. See also: Master of Puppets and Through the Never… Don’t Tread on Me and Bellz, Sanitarium and One, Ride the Lightning (under the solo) and Fight Fire With Fire…
Alzheimer's can be a bitch...LOL
@AndDeathForAll82 People also forget that other bands do the same thing (Disturbed is even more repetitive) yet seems like Metallica is the only one that gets this much hate
Who else thought you must burn is a sad but true rip off
Makes it sound like Avenged 7X trying to rip off Metallica again lol
Every band borrows from themselves… every single one.
Metallica are the only ones who get shit on for it.
Every band gets goofed on, only Metallica fans take it so seriously
don't worry. i'm sure granny-tallica will soon be popping up on more "plagiarizing" vids pretty soon.
