James’ vocals have been really good whether live or in the studio for the past several years because his vocals have finally matured. With that being said, there was a period during the late 90s and early 2000s when James’ vocals weren’t that good and that’s because he blew his voice out during the Reload era and it took a long time for them to come back. Since Hardwired to Self Destruct I feel as though his vocals have been on fire and this album showcases some really excellent vocal work by James. Not only does he sound great but the entire band sounds really tight.

@@308dad8 I've read up all the lyrics to these songs, and James clearly is writing some very personal lyrics in a number of these tracks. Also, looking back at the history of metal, not all of it is filled with angst and hate. Punk had a lot of hate and angst, but not all metal (even then, not all punk is angst and hate either). I'm reading a lot from fans saying these songs are helping them through their own angst and troubled times, so Metallica is doing something right with this album. I also watched them live on Kimmel, James has enough wind left. Alternative? Alternative sounds a lot different now than it did in the 1990s when I was growing up.

@@OptimusX1972 Course there's some studio magic. But even live nowadays he's at a far higher level than he has been for years. His voice can break and falter at times live, but so it goes. For a long time it seemed he'd lost the attack in his voice, the weight and gravel and snarl. I guess he needed rest and some instruction (or whatever it was), because he has those qualities back - even when singing live. It's not just that, though. On Load/Reload, both of which I love, James sounded superb partly because he tapped into an expressive way of singing that the 80s songs didn't even allow for. He's brilliant on those two albums, a genuinely fine, interesting vocalist. The thrashier stuff doesn't let him do that. 72 Seasons has more of a Load vibe, but has some thrashier elements too (instrumentally). This encourages James to go bluesy as on Load, but the heavier instrumentation means he gets more aggressive at times, too. Great combo for him. (None of this is to take from James' late 80s, AJFA voice, which was fearsome, spine-tingling stuff. Really ferocious, but with control too. He doesn't do that now, but how he sounds today is arguably the best since then... with Load era vying for the top spot, too. Though like I said I prefer this perhaps because of the extra aggression where needed...) Ramble over!

Badass? Good for an old man with no wind left and singing alternative rock yes but Metallica has no more Fuck it! left in them. More worried about rhyming than pumping out the anger and hate and angst that made metal
@@BlackVal11 Bad Ass is an American English colloquialism meaning awesome or cool or groovy or other similar word to mean the same. No idea why dude was being a douche to you.
The bass, the drums, the guitar riffs are ❤
A nice Black Sabbath rifff Metallica style !!!! Taking things to next level !!!
Best song of this album absolutely best sound edit, you can literally hear Rob hammering his bass. When I saw it at movie for first time I was stunned how good it is. Bad ass song🤘🤘
Killer bass riff
This song is awesome and it's the only reason why I listen to 72 season
Awesome! One of the best songs of the album.Kirk solo kick asses
Metallica is here to save 2023

I knew a Jason Floyd Hatcher
Definitely my favorite song on the new album. I love the surf like feel , and the lyrics are absolutely amazing. Everything about this song is amazing
After around ten listens through of the entire album, this one is the standout for me. That groove. My favourite at the moment. Excellent!
This song is complete! This song is 40 years of expierence. Ozzy meets randy meets Burton meets Newstad meets Trujillo! This song is so clear in its base, i almost cant belive its Metallica! Fan for over 25 years now, but they really surprised me! Also listen to 'You must burn', gives the same feeling! Well done! See you in 13 days!!!!
When the vocal started, I broke the like button
Robs' Bass in the intro is so Bad Ass!!! Great song!
Everyone in my village was in our festival hall to celebrate this god album. YOU ARE SO AMAZING!❤

All hail Satan 🙌
Love this song, it’s become my favourite from this album.
This one is my favorite song from the album 72 reasons so far!
I still cannot believe how good Hetfield still sounds. It's crazy. Love it.
I love Hetfield, but there's some studio magic, I'm sure. He gets squeeky time to time live....and doesn't always sound on at times.
@@OptimusX1972 no bands can sound like the record when they playing it live, it is almost impossible🤟
@@mathiasbirkp its not
@@mathiasbirkp it is possible to sound exactly like the studio version when playing live
Though like I said I prefer this perhaps because of the extra aggression where needed...)
Ramble over!
I grew up listning to metallica . Since kill 'em all I turned 51 yrs older on the 13th April and I still a follower of this legend metal band cheers James , Lars , kirk , & Rob ,
The chorus riff is so good, I wish it was twice as long. Everytime I hear that riff I need another turn.
I am celebrating the album very much!!! The sound, the music and specially the lyrics are hitting me really hard!
This is the NASTIEST Metallica song I've ever heard! There's so much groove! I love it
