I’ll never forget it. During the film, when this song came on, people were super getting into it from the other songs. After it was over, legit everyone was on their feet clapping. I was sitting next to a man who was probably in his 70s. Al he said was “that was epic” and I couldn’t have agreed more.
I wondered if Metallica had fans that were 60+.
Who was probably a fan in his 30s when they debuted. So not a stretch for us old folks to dig a tune or two, lol. I can't wait until my 70s and im jamming on some current metal that ages as well as Metallica and im front row moshing with my walker😅

I want to thank my Uncle, and my Dad for introducing Metallica to me at a young age. Now that both my Mom and Dad have passed away, I’ve never dove deeper and harder in their music. This album has helped me a lot, so thank you so much Metallica for everything you’ve done and created.

Still my favorite today then probably the Black Album.
There hasn't been one I haven't liked an most I've loved.
I still have a Kill Em All record that I bought when I was in high school, no idea if it still plays or not but I have an original printing of it.
First time I saw them live was about 3 months after we lost Cliff an I'll be seeing them in 2024 when they come back to Seattle. I still can't believe how big they've got. When I first started listening hardly anyone knew who they were compared to now.
That first show I saw had about 6k fans, the next time they came on their own was on the Justice Tour an they sold out two shows with about 15k a night. So from 1986 to 1989 they got way bigger an have continued to ever since.
That show in 89 is still my favorite concert ever, the crowd was so wild.
The show next year should be awesome as well but for different reasons. It'll just be so big that it'll be a spectacle. I assume there will be about 75k fans for each night which in itself is amazing. But it won't have near the energy of 89.
I promise it's worth looking at here on RUclips. Metallica Seattle 89 Binge & Purge. Craziest crowd I've ever been around by far. Non stop fist fights and mosh pits an Metallica was young an heavy an full of energy.

This song PROVES the haters wrong, they don't need to be thrash all the time to make HEAVY music! This is what separates them from other metal bands, it's the versatility and the great personalities of the band that shine through their instruments.
They didn't invent it. Plenty of metal bands Plat slow to add power tonl riffs.

James’s vocals shine through so much on this song. Absolutely astounding that he sounds better on this than he EVER has.
He's a standout on this album for sure! His lyrics are really deep on this one also. You can tell he was going thru some stuff when these lyrics came out

I love that this album is soo reflective, it gives an "old man reflecting on life" vibe and it's awesome. Even better is the fact that James is delivering his best vocal performances of his entire career on this album, I personally rate 72 Seasons a 9.5 out of 10! Best Metallica album in decades!! 🤘🤘🤙🤙

You can tell they worked together well and best of all, you can tell they had FUN on this album!! The riffs on this album are awesome and James's vocals are the best of his entire career imo! I'm absolutely in love with this album, I would rate it a 9.5 out of 10! 72 Seasons tops Death Magnetic and Hardwired for me, and that's saying a lot because I freaking love those albums! Yes!! Haha! Probably my favorite song on this album and all I wanted was a music video that wasn’t animated and I got just that. So happy. Besides, it contains one of the best riffs on the record. It comes in before and after the solo and during the outro, where the legendary line ”you must burn” is on repeat. Awesome video!

The vocal harmonies around the 4:15 mark have an Alice in Chains vibe.

i was watching a video on stuff sung by other band members and i saw that rob and james sung this together hearing the isolated vocals track and this is exactly what i looked this up for. I knew someone else would think the same thing.
but now that i think about it it also reminds me of the vocals harmonies in Nirvana's "Paper Cuts" (album version). Possibly the heaviest most sludgiest Nirvana song. Right before the screaming part.

Best song on the album. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the album as a whole. But this one just hit me different. That riff. And for about to turn 60 and after everything he’s put his vocal chords through the last 42 years, the relentless touring, yelling and so forth, James voice is strong as ever. And Rob’s bass sounds so good on this album as well. Well done fellas.

The relentless touring ended around 10 years ago, but I don't blame them. Black album tour was one massive motherfucker and I am shocked they even came out of that alive.
P.S. This and "room of mirrors" are some of the best in their whole back catalog.

What a great album, even after 40 + years of making heart thumping/thrash metal. Some really deep lyrics, I get Black, Load and Re-Load vibes on this record. Can’t wait to see them in Montreal for August!!! 🤘🏽

so good. the bass slides are so excellent we forgot all about sick dying dead already. they really did it! this is the most honest record by you guys since probably justice. not that black album wasnt good, you had to make that move. but now we are full circle, picking up where you left off with justice. \O/

For me, arguably one of the best songs on the album which as a whole is quite fantastic. Metallica keeps leveling up with plenty more in the gas tank.

They put everything into this album.It’s got the riffs,bass,Great guitar playing and James with great licks.Well done Metallica it’s great to hear them at lamours back in the early 80s and still kicking ass in 2023 who would of Thought.
