The fact that officer could've been so close to death but he remained calm takes a lot of courage.

Too calm! He gave the kid too many chances to "step away from the car." Even I could see the kid wasnt complying, and something was up. With all due respect, it wasnt courage; it was poor judgement and a huge failure to take control of the scene that could have ended badly. Then, the police officer is actually surprised the kid was pulling a gun! He needs to expect this! With all due respect, this officer may need some training.
guy is surrounded by cops and he tries to grab a handgun?
I think it was just in his lap per the incident in question.
He shot at another driver 7 times. Probably drove home with it out in the car, saw the cops and tried to put it somewhere before they made him exit his vehicle.
@@AlyssMadigan no. He had his hands up while getting out of the seat, nothing dropped from his lap. He kept pulling the door close to him as he was being asked to step out and he reaches for it. I was thinking the same thing. Just watched a video where a guy in his car with a knife was shot 5 times and killed. A guy that clearly was having a mental breakdown. Since he called 911 to tell them. He was scared to exit his vehicle because of the skinwalkers. He also asked the officer if he could roll down his window to throw the knife on the ground and was told no...... Not long after that they shot him and killed him because he had a knife.... How we react to adversity defines who we are. So I try to live right.
It doesn't give me any pleasure to point this out, but we are who we are as moral beings more or less by age 10. If you'd kill someone in a road rage incident at 16, you'd probably do it at age 30, too. This kid needs to be put in county jail overnight, then shipped to an adult prison to wait for his hearing. If the court wants to give him lenience then, okay. But first give him a taste of what life is going to be like for him, assuming he survives, if he doesn't correct himself. Oops, just saw the follow up. Mommy and daddy bailed him out. They have now failed him completely. Cool, well, if you see this kid, be prepared to defend yourself from him depending on his mood.
He's parents should be arrested as well
This genius was charged with 4 felonies: Aggravated Assault/Deadly Weapon, Discharging A Firearm From A Vehicle, Shooting Into An Occupied Vehicle, and In State Delinquent Poss Firearm or Ammunition. Don't know why he didn't get Attempted Murder as well.
Should be a few yrs for that
@@MansaMusa2 Murder in the Second Degree is defined in FL as "murder with a depraved mind; killing someone without regard for human life but without premeditation-" Road rage fits the bill, perfectly.
@@rms1493 that is second degree murder but this kid didn't kill anyone. To convict on attempted murder the state must prove intent.
@@MansaMusa2 and shooting at someone is intent lmaooo.
@@peapotfairy needs to be attempted manslaughter then too, idk why there isn't I guess its a no harm no foul kind a thing, what a load of proof as to why they get out then finally do kill someone.
Appreciating Law Enforcement more than they know. Lock this kid up and take his drivers license away indefinitely. (If he did this once, he's probably done it before, and will do it again. Thinks he owns the road. Excellent work. Thank you.
Should lock the dad up too
You’re probably a criminal
@@tambrody2684 No.
Taking license away will do nothing, people drive with no license all the time. But yes lock him up, he planned to do something to the officers until the gun fell out of his hand. Tam, why, did his dad fire the gun, did his dad drive the car. Parents have some input into this kids actions but the kid is his own person and made his choice he has to live with.
he is a criminal. do you really think a criminal who attempted to kill someone actually gives af about a license?
"How do I get out of this?"
Scary situation, it could have ended badly but that cop handled it very well
Everyone in this vid did a great job except that kid, the officer was quick, efficient, and calm, and the dad didn't cause any sort of problems at all, I really feel bad for the dad
Didn't cause any sort of problems?
How about not scolding his kid?
The cop did better job at parenting in 2 minutes than the other guy in 18 years
Even when his son got arrested, he didn't say anything to the kid
@@mauriciosolano9342 father probably questioned that as well in that moment ngl
"where did it go all wrong?"
Hopefully his dad isn't the one that provided him with the gun
I dont think the police officer's supervisor would say the police officer did a great job. With all due respect, this officer may need some training.
children, generally speaking, are a product of their environment, If the father had done a better job at being a parent the kid most likely would not have acted this way
Just by looking at the stickers on this kids car, you can already tell what kind of a person he is...
Brain dead comment
Was thinking the same thing.
Yup. The kind that speeds like crazy just to end up at the same red light as you and then weaves in and out of traffic without using any turn signals.
"Locally Hated" sticker, i can see why.
