You should really make a video about brush control, paint consistency, and area application. You're a severely underrated painter. Easily one of the best on RUclips.
Tremendous job there on the gun, and the video is just the perfect length to paint along with. Really appreciate the way you break down the steps required to pull this off- you have no idea how much your videos have upped my painting skills. Thank you so much, and enjoy your weekend.
THIS is what I was looking for. Thank you sir! Just coming back to add to this comment. I watched a LOT of other tutorials on this glowing effect and with many different colors. Yes most of those are doing it with airbrush but the thing that got me scratching my head the most is how most of them are using straight white with red sprayed over it. It does look like it is bright but it also looks so pink. Yes red over white looks pink and I do prefer the yellow brightness instead of the white/pink that so many of the other ones have. Yes red also can build up to a small white center but from reds to oranges to yellows then to the white not just red to pink. This is all my opinion and preference of course but to me the yellows always look more like highlights/glows to red energy. Just like you don't highlight blood angles armor edges with pink and white, the same goes for red glow in my opinion. It is kind of like painting fire, the inside is bright yellow and then the outside of the fire is orange and red. Pink fire is for Tzeench! hahah.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures When I do Necrons I am making them more sinister with dark colors and red glows. Also I am considering making my Eldar wraith lord swords glow and reflect off the hand and forearm. it will be much more subtle of course because the sword is not shedding light in such an encased area and just slightly on the wielding hand and end of the forearm. It won't be as intense as a close up glow would. Heck now that I think about it there are some small places on start cannons that could glow too. I will have to experiment.
Cool glow!!! The method seems to be simple. It is necessary to try it more often and the result will not keep you waiting, but this is not for sure😂😂😂😂
this is fantastic, I'm about to get stuck into some Grey Knights which I plan to do true metallic so the OSL stuff is super helpful. I think probably will use metallic highlights for the aerial lightsource with blue glazing for the force weapons OSL... does that sound right?
Para el rojo no me gusta, desatura mucho el color, prefiero este naranja pastel. Si alguna vez miras una luz roja, nunca vas a ver blanco ahí, es un color demasiado saturado e intenso como para llegar hasta al blanco
Use the same method but with blues of higher hue, honestly you could follow the ultramarine base, highlight and edge highlights for the most part, and you'd have a good idea what to use.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures the song is the description appears to be the very first song played in the intro. Do you have the chill guitar song that plays in the background?

Well, the glow effect is pretty realistic, the plasma gun bit maybe not so much 🤣 Let's just say is a 50/50 mix of oxymoron and hyperbole. _chef's kiss_
Let me introduce you to the use of hyperbole as a way to emphasize some of the subject In this case the property of realism. It's just a common literally resource that serves a purpose, in this case the purpose is clickbait. VIEWS FOR THE VIEWS GOD SUBS FOR THE SUBS THRONE
Not so much "realistic". In the military we HATE light sources. We like darkness and opacity. If anything shines, we cover it. Glowing plasma weapons are not "realistic". In fact, I always wondered id those "corrugated elements" on plasma weapons were magnetic accelerators, which are really use to contain and/or move plasma matter. Something like modern railguns and aircraft carriers' magnetic catapults. I think, in the end, that they should be purely metallic. And being military, darkened metallic.

Thanks mate, I really appreciate that. I just don't know how to make that video
The OSL on the helmet and shoulder are *chef's kiss*
Thanks 😘
You turned the armor into a freakin’ mirror
The most impressive thing IMHO is how the painter makes such an incredible work seem so easy!
I sold my soul to the devil.
No regrets

It's not difficult but it does require some degree of brush control and precision
thanks!! this will be interesting to apply!

Brutal el efecto y muy bien explicado el OSL

Someone show the right way for plasma! Between the coils is white! Please do a video with it not reversed. You're the best!

This tutorial is perfect for me! What is the exact brush you used in this video as the long point on it is amazing
Thanks
Rosemary and Co series 33 size 3, the same I use for everything. I think I use the 2 at some point as well.
Grande!!!!.
I want to attempt this with an aqua blue glow. I wonder what colors would be appropriate?
Use the same method but with blues of higher hue, honestly you could follow the ultramarine base, highlight and edge highlights for the most part, and you'd have a good idea what to use.
Do you think the new Baal Red would be better to use then Blood Angels Red?
No, I still would use this
I want to try this with a blue-ish white light, do you have suggestions on what combination of Citadel colours I can use for that?
This is what I would use from dark to light
Sotek Green
Temple guard blue
Baharroth Blue
Ulthuan Grey
White
Hope that helps!
