55yr old man here, 2 years separated, hopefully she'll stop stalling and sign the divorce papers in early 2025. John, I carry my vision in my wallet. When I hit rock bottom in Dec 2023, I made a laminated card to carry around with me, using inspiration from the movie "Riddick." One side of the card has a pic of Riddick with the words, "There are bad days, and then there are legendary bad days." The other side had a picture of overweight and unhappy me with the words, "So now we reset the clock." It worked wonders, now I am super fit and happy, never to co-habit or marry every again. In 2025, I hope to purchase a small cabin in a rural area I have my eye on, get a Labrador and enjoy the freedom and peace I have worked so hard for. So yes, stay single is my motto too, for I tried the other one and the scars still run deep.
My year was 2021 with separation and divorce in 2023. I got super fit also and then I got an injury to my back. It effected left leg strength and started to see progress and then unseen health issues have occurred over the last 3 months. Crazy, my plan was the same outlook with a garden , dog, small home, 7 car garage and I was planning on moving in 2023, but here I am over weight and trying to fix my health issues, but with no health insurance and limited ability to work due to these last three years of crazy all started with an injury to my back. I figured out, people can't prepare for the future because we don't know what can change our direction. I do hope you find your happiness and goals, but leave room to except help, as you can't prepare for the unexpected.

We all go through life thinking that money will give us a life of freedom when, in fact, freedom is the very thing we end up sacrificing in order to reach that senseless goal.
Sorry, money does provide freedom. I have friends that are retired with millions. But because they are weak, they don’t enjoy themselves. Money is necessary, but there’s a little more added to it to enjoy it.

It’s been a tough year after splitting from my ex . I’m 55 . This year I passed my motorbike test in Scotland . Next Summer I’m touring Europe with my son on our bikes . We’re gonna go through the Alps . What a summer it’s gonna be !
Here's what I did a few years ago. Asked myself what would I do if I won a billion dollars. Then asked myself if I can replicate some of those things without much money at all. Turned out there were many things I could do now. So I did them.
Someone asked me about my New Year's resolutions, and I replied, 'Why wait a whole year to start fixing my life?' I prefer making changes in real-time, as and when they’re needed. Waiting for the start of the Gregorian calendar feels like procrastination to me. Of course, my perspective wasn't exactly popular-but hey, they did ask!
Those specifically dated resolutions never made sense to me either. If you want to lose weight, today is the day to start doing so. And that logical approach can be applied to anything that has to do with resolutions or your own personal goals.
Mr. Griffin, Thank you for talking about and giving guidance on men's issues to help us get and be better for ourselves. The situation with women is now a dead horse. I retired my folks and moved them into the master suite of my home, helping my patients I see daily, cook for myself and folks, my mom needs a break, buy cars I like, repair, modify, enjoy. The final thing is getting my retirement savings back on track.
I wanted to drop a second comment here, just to say this video really helped me. I've done so many journaling exercises over the years, answering countless questions about "what do you want in life," to find my vision, goals, mission, purpose, etc... I'm 27 and feel like a failure at life. I'm working on myself now and it's been very beneficial. At this rate I think I will probably never have sex or be in a relationship again but honestly, I dont even care anymore. I just want to achieve the goals I had as a kid
Time is the main thing that people and men give away. Like a 10,15, 20 year marriage which is thrown out the window. It takes time a serious consideration of where you sit in life. Don't give time away to people who will not value it.
John, I work with IT but always wanted to be a DJ. A play the guitar and really love to play it, create musics/sounds with it. People say I'm creative. I'm seriously thinking about giving it a chance.
Habits beat goals. Goals succumb to externals out of my control. My habits measure me to me. The direction of advance goes on when habits power the choices needed. Budget, collaboration, effectiveness - all come from habits. Habits make Action to create the vision, however complex.
One of my coworkers bought an expensive truck and the boss at the company said i know you have to stay now. If it was a great job he wouldnt have said that.
Things to think about: Create a life you can live with. We all have special gifts, find your highest and best use. We are happiest when we are climbing. No one else can make you happy. Money won't make you happy but having no money will make you very unhappy. Love God, serve others, live simply. Without your health you have nothing. You can't be proud of your gifts as they were given to you, you can only be proud of your choices. You will increase the likelyhood of cultivating meaning in your life to the extent that you succeed in finding things that are worth doing even without the compensation of success. You can guage what is important to someone by how they spend their time and money. A mans true wealth is the good that he does in the world. Most women are not sugar and spice and everthing nice.
One could also point out that a compass that's a degree or two off is still "directionally correct." Boston is a lot closer to New York than LA is. :) Thus, visionary perfection isn't required. Just get meaningfully closer.
fiction vs literature some men are by nature not aggressive nor competitive. all kinds... on paper, I have had a lot of unrealized potential. but I am now just comfortable in my own skin
Pretty good stuff once again. Although the material thing.. I have to say. If you have a comfortable ride that doesn't break down.. That makes me really happy tbh. If you have Porsche money, go for it. But don't expect a great experience from a second hand for 10k... Many young guys buy such a messed up car just to realize their dream and then it becomes a nightmare.
Helping the others is not more valious than focus on your own happiness. Altruism is not the ultimate porpose, just because some priests or politicians say it. And having materialistic goals is a lot better than not having no goal at all.
As the numbers of women in media, entertainment, academia, and government increases, so does the abuse of men. There's no coming back from this now, only forward to the crash, and if you dont get out of the system, and self sufficient, your life will soon have meaning, things like starvation and death. Methinks its time to focus every man on building his own life raft. Survival is a great meaning! 😊

Problem with starting over was nothing changed, it was the same thing over again. It starts out with a little lower expectations, a little more rigid effort, almost felt like taking off right where I left off. And it was. I take some of the blame because the slate wasn't clean and I don't think it ever will be. silly emotions and feelings get in the way. But my desires are the same as they always have been from the beginning, which are slowly becoming a fantasy. I'm going to have to forget what is traditional and start considering just being friends or something first. So that we can treat each other like a loving couple instead of partners. Hard to explain but, you can never go home over tore up tracks. All my problems are my own, I will say I would have been better off single, if I had never met certain people, I feel dumber for having known women.. idle hands are the work of the devil, keep them busy. Maybe one day you'll look up and the love of your life will be standing in front of you. 80% of the friends of mine remarried foreign women and are very happy. Women from other countries have different respect and understanding of men. Look at our president, people of power, behind every great man is a great woman.
Thanks Especially men can or even will profit very much from a carnivore diet. Such a diet makes us strong, focused and manly. Don’t believe that green beans are healthy! They are not. Note: If you would be starving, eating green beans is fine. Plants are survival foods. But, especially men, will strive on meat, while we only survive on plants. Note: If you want your girl, wife or female partner to be strong, healthy and mentally strong, feed her animal based meals too. The stronger you need to be, the better it is to be on a carnivore diet. Note: Best is to stay on your carnivore diet, as your body adapts to it. Mixing often is counterproductive. Try it Love it Never stop it.
That’s why you must stay single and never get somebody pregnant unless having lots of children, use your goal. That’s why marriage fails and won’t work because you need to find somebody that has the same goals as you and as those dynamic goals change, she needs to change too. Her goals won’t match yours, and if they appear to, she’s submitting to you and resent you for it. Eventually, she will cash in with America’s divorce laws in place. If I buy a lottery ticket, I’m only out a dollar. Finding that girl is like winning the lottery, but it’ll cost a hell of a lot more than a dollar.
"The masses" makes me laugh, because you do not see you as "the masses". I am not the masses. All the people I knew who followed "metaphysics" are in disarray now. Intention, details, and expectation of outcome are what is vital. The "law of attraction" and that line is nonsense. Work is what makes things happen.

I think if you have a passion and you’re willing to work really hard at it you have nothing to lose
@@john-griffin Good point. Many thanks!
After a 30 year marriage ended at 51 the only thing I want the rest of my life is the song by Frank Sinatra
My Way!
Habits beat goals. Goals succumb to externals out of my control. My habits measure me to me. The direction of advance goes on when habits power the choices needed. Budget, collaboration, effectiveness - all come from habits. Habits make Action to create the vision, however complex.
Actually they saying is "the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation......." with all the videos you've made, it fits so perfectly lol.
A nice house , a nice car and a big bank account will make me happy and fulfilled, and will give me a very deep meaning and purpose in life.
I like to get to the root of the matter.
Why do people do what they do? Is it to impress people?
This is what causes a lot of problems in one's life.
Wanting and attachments
I have been on Everest, I am 100% serious when I say that being married was much harder.
its all about the message, dont worry about the intro etc
I find the challenge of doing or getting something better than the end result itself.

Came here for the wisdom..... I didn't have "giant phallic symbol" on my Bingo card today. 🤣😂
You never know what you will find!
Going through life attached to one is like swimming with an anchor around your neck.
One could also point out that a compass that's a degree or two off is still "directionally correct." Boston is a lot closer to New York than LA is. :) Thus, visionary perfection isn't required. Just get meaningfully closer.

John can you do a video on how to handle a divorce when it was YOUR fault and you’re dealing with a ton of regret over losing a good woman.
Good idea
fiction vs literature
some men are by nature not aggressive nor competitive. all kinds...
on paper, I have had a lot of unrealized potential. but I am now just comfortable in my own skin
I can see a lot of similarities between this channel and “terryjoeljunior” haha, love the content on both.
I’ll check him out. Thanks!

Good to know!
Helping the others is not more valious than focus on your own happiness. Altruism is not the ultimate porpose, just because some priests or politicians say it. And having materialistic goals is a lot better than not having no goal at all.
👍🏼
As the numbers of women in media, entertainment, academia, and government increases, so does the abuse of men.
There's no coming back from this now, only forward to the crash, and if you dont get out of the system, and self sufficient, your life will soon have meaning, things like starvation and death.
Methinks its time to focus every man on building his own life raft.
Survival is a great meaning! 😊
This is all easy to do when you’re not married anymore. Get rid of the ball and chain step one and now you can continue with this list.
Sir can u make a video on according to u at what age dating becomes really hard on men because their are a lot of content on RUclips which tells that men in 30 have it easier in dating but in my case I m finding it difficult to date in my late 20s only , so according to u at what age dating really becomes hard on men or tell us according to u at what age did u really find dating easy and hard on your Life
I think age is less of a factor. It’s more about how you view yourself and your life.

I’m retiring to an island at 38, gonna party the rest of my life away.
We all have that hole that we always try to fill it with stuff. All we ever need to fill that space is JESUS.✌🏽
The things I am looking for in my life at 52
Peaceful
Physical Challenges
Craftsmanship
A sprinkle of Creativity

Especially men can or even will profit very much from a carnivore diet.
Try it
Love it
Never stop it.
"Billionaires shooting themselves into space are just making big phallic symbols"
Okay, Karen.
But John, Jordan Peterson said I cant be happy without marriage
He is mistaken
Momento mori
Just live a worthwhile life without a commitment to a single female. Be a good person.
Life can and should include females but don't get caught. 😮.
Did you just marginalize Elon Musk??
I just pointed out that things won’t make you happy. Even billionaires can lack fulfillment
