A man died in a heroic act saving a child, he meets God face to face... God says to him "I'll grant you one wish, anything you want and I'll send you back to earth for being a such a good man"... The man says, "well, I have a fear of flying and would like to drive my car from CA to Hawaii, so could you make me a bridge?"... God looked stunned, he said do you realize how much engineering, steel and concrete that would take... Its a near impossible thing, even for me to do, surely you have an easier wish... The man says, well "I've strugggled with this my whole life, but could you grant me the power to understand women"... God paused, appeared frustrated, he looked down at the ground and lowered his voice, he nearly whispers to the man "do you want two or four lanes"... Merry Christmas!

I know, there is a couple an older couple that ride their bikes down the trails in the evenings in the summertime. She rides in front and he follows. I thought he was autistic at first because he had that lifeless looking in his eyes. it made me think that he obviously was dealing with a severe disability of some kind. Then one day I saw him walking by himself, and he was quite animated and even cheerful. Being in her presence changed him into what can only be described as the human version of the male ant drone.

Asking, "Where are you going to put that?". The few times I have gone to a grocery store with my wife, I grab half the list, my own cart, and tell her that I will meet her at the checkout. Holidays can be rough for single men for many reasons. What made the difference for me in life was a true realization what self-confidence, self-esteem and self-love really means and all it entails. Society, churches, social institutions, mainstream media and certainly commercial and retail companies all look down on single men and try and force their view that it's wrong to be a contented, happy and fulfilled single man. Guys, you really have a lot of power over yourself, if you will use and have the world at your feet! I've lived, really, the most happy, fulfilled and prosperous years of my life as a single man. They’re both fun (if she’s not a whiner of course) and both modes of travel have their own advantages. I can tell you that the travelling alone has these advantages : you absorb more of everything that country has to offer because you’re focused on the sounds, smells, colours instead of chattering to your partner, you’re much more likely to come in contact with locals and have friendships and exchanges, you choose exactly what you find fun to do, it stimulates your resourcefulness and strengthens your character, alone on these voyages I tend to reflect and use this time to delve deeper into my own life and discover things about myself.
So go ahead travel the world alone you’ll come back a richer man. Do it.

I used to think that, but most people are just into themselves, it is not deliberate. So I decided I just won't allow it.When I used to get that feeling at our local "community" church, that couples exclusion feeling, I just stopped going to the church and feel much better.
I get more out of these videos, and personal direct prayer. It is amazing, I pray at night and then immediately fall asleep with no worries. I pray for friends, and family living and gone, and somehow that settles things for the night.

Oh yeah, I'm saving time and money by not having to buy her some expensive gift either.

John, this is the best! As a multi degreed professional who has these challenges, I am always amazed how you distill the thoughts. Each sentence strikes a chord. I am never married, and by choice, as I voluntarily slipped out of relationships when I sensed the controls being applied. There is nothing like the freedom of being single, if you want it. I wanted marriage I thought, I wanted a great woman, but the price I could see was going to be too high. This morning I awoke at 4 am, lay in bed and all the regrets and thoughts started, and after an hour I got up, drove to the gym and did an intense hour of treadmill and free weights, came home and cooked a great breakfast, and watched your video.
Every day is a challenge and I will take your advice to stop the bad thoughts when they occur, and go do something! I wish you a great Christmas time with a good walk of the dogs and maybe a great meal, and perhaps plans for a great road trip in the New Year, to places like Montana and the Rockies, which always lifts my spirit! Thanks for what you do for us.

Good to get such wisdom at such young age! Im only 26 but I've always liked philosophy (stoicism, eastern philosophy etc.) The one thing I've noticed is that the lesson of "Nothing outside of Yourself can make You happy" applies to everything including women. If You don't understand this and try to pursue relationships with the need for someone to make You happy instead of You making Yourself happy it will be Your downfall because that person now owns You. Thanks for the video, as always it was great and Your channel only confirms to me that I need to just focus on myself and be content on my own.

Bought a small cottage out in the Swedish woods 3 years ago. Just because I wanted to. Been fixing it up, now it is my haven. Would most likely not have happened had I had a gf or "significant other".
Just ordered myself a nice toy (As I hunt it is a new gun, a german made kipplauf - apparently an "Old mans gun" so it is quite fitting...) for a lot of money. I can afford it, but would have been forced to buy something similar to "her" had I been in a relationship. You know the drill have you ever been involved with a woman.
I just find that being single has been the best deflationary event in my life. Everything I do or plan to do costs just about half of what it used to. I am also free to plan my own holidays, when I want to take an extra day off, or when I do things - or in what order.
The exhilarating feeling of freedom is something not only young people experience, it is something that everyone can and do feel once you get rid of a burden that has tied you down emotionally and physically.
And all this comes with something else as icing on the cake: Tranquility. Peace.

I've wondered for some time now since being single and free from the incessant complaining and drama, how women feel about being single. Being that it's women's nature to feed off of drama and chaos, if they're single, who do they focus that toxicity towards? Family? Co-workers? Waiters and waitresses? There is no way a woman can say she is happy being single without having the ability to emotionally abuse someone. Woman and peace are two things that just don't go together. Are women capable of truly being at peace and happy within themselves if there is no one to focus her inherent need to sow chaos and drama onto?

    • @john-griffin
      @john-griffin  День назад +2

I think that you can learn to manage some women. Obviously summer beyond help. But there are some whose chaotic nature is not as bad. If having a woman is important to you, then there is hope that you can find someone who won’t blow up your entire life. Especially if you do a really good job of establishing yourself within your own frame, creating your own world and, she will conform to what you have created

I was in a men's support group once, and the number one reason why new men were joining was because women were wreaking havoc in their lives and ending the relationship. Being alone is brutal during the holidays because there is no escape. Church is useless, because it is oriented towards, and talks only about, families. John's talks are useful in providing a starting point of changing your attitude and perspective first, to a single life as normal instead of as with a woman.

After asking for a divorce from a woman who was never happy, I had to deal with all the brutal challenges you’d expect from the vindictive ex who replaced me overnight with a short, ugly trust funder. She was on her third marriage before age 40!!
My son is now almost 17 and since he started driving I feel like I’m retired. I’m not opposed to a woman in my life but I no longer put any energy into making that happen. I love my work - work from home with who I want, when I want and get paid well to do it. I have plenty of time to focus on my fitness and hobbies. I practice gratitude every day. I turned my dopamine pleasure from physical to excitement about the growth of my business. I've never lost women chasing money but I've lost money chasing women. I've also found that by not telling everybody my plans and waiting until the reveal when it's completed keeps me focused and I'm not losing that energy by seeking approval and others along the way. A lot of men think marriage is a cure for loneliness. If so, think again. My wife cheated on me and because I filed for divorce she quickly swung into action and started putting the word out that I was abusive to her and the children. The court didn't buy it, and the facts didn't support it, but all the women married to my male "friends" sure did. The Sisterhood gave the order to drop me like a hot potato and that was that. I found myself all dressed up with no place to go. Even some of the women in my church turned their noses up at me, and made me feel uncomfortable, after I won full custody, saying "Children should always be with their mother." What's crazy is my Ex stopped going to church a few years before, while I continued to serve the church and teach Sunday School. They didn't care. I left church and never found my way back. All I can say is "Good riddance".
