When i was younger my phone broke, i didnt know how to buy a phone at the time and got very bored. It was that boredom that meant I had to explore other things that didn't involve being glued to a screen that led me down a path that I've not left of designing and creating furniture. Thats now turned into a job and Im thankful that Apple was too shit at the time to keep my phone alive.
Challenge your mind to the extreme. It's kind of hard, but you will find tremendous results. Start small, pick a subject, then dive deep into it. I'm not speaking as some sort of guru, but just a man who's tried a lot of different philosophies and the only one I've found to consistently rings true is: Do the work.
As an aspiring web developer, this hits hard AF. It's the reality I came to recently that caused a full paradigm shift within me. I thought I wasn't good enough, but I simply lacked the experience that comes from getting my hands dirty with actual original projects. Projects are great but not even that matters if it's not something original or at least meaningful.
@@davidkunakovsky3155 even while maintaining a normal job for money creation on the side can still bring you a sense of freedom when it comes to spending your free time doing something creative and fulfilling. Photography and streaming recently hasn’t brought me much money, but it has given me a craft to perfect and constant goals to achieve, instead of being in a content consumption loop. It’s very rewarding
That isn’t freedom. Freedom is outside of the system modern society has built. Become so radically free that your mere existence is an act of rebellion.
Most helpful trick to me was: I just need to do one single thing on this project per day. If I was drawing, for example, I told myself I just need to draw ONE line on paper per day. I quickly find myself ending up doing more than just that single line after starting and it's helped me stay motivated with my projects.
That's excellent advice! Many people have trouble setting the bar low enough, but if you choose to, you'll be amazed at how quickly you can put yourself in order. Good luck, man!
Heard someone describe it as a type of 'momentum' almost like a Newton physics type thing. Hardest thing is to get the ball rolling, but once it's in motion that thing is surprisingly easy to keep moving. Managed to finish a short animation film on my own using this trick for about a year. I'm now working on more and really enjoying it! Good luck to you also!
@@ForgottenMovieGems It's described in "Atomic Habits" as the 2 minute rule, starting habits like drawing at 2 minutes or less makes the habit way more likely to stick. This is especially true because most of the time it takes more then 2 minutes to feel as if you've made progress, so "having to stop" at 2 minutes is actually a bad thing. You essentially flip the negative from "having to do something" into "having to stop doing something". It's also known that the length of a habit isn't as important to developing new habits, but the number of times you do the habit is key. So you doing a line every day is reinforcing the habit more then if you did 10 minutes every week. Can't say I'm very good at applying these principals but It's definitely interesting.
I made a group in college for people interested in abandoned buildings. It absolutely blew up. Suddenly my life was an extreme adventure and I was living large. Then I broke my spine. Since then I haven’t been the same. I slowly stopped doing fun and adventurous things and started wasting time. I think it’s time that changes again. Thanks for the reminder friend.
I am in my 70s. This man is right. You gotta do what fascinates you. Persue it!! Had my share of retail, service jobs - and learned from them. Good advice!!
One important lesson one of my college professors taught was that motivation doesn't come first. Action comes first, once you've started, motivation will/might follow later. Just get started. Every little bit is progress. Focus on the doing, not the quality. Striving for perfection too often kills your dreams/goals.
I just deleted tiktok from my phone and then I on a whim purchased fashion and photography magazines which led to me purchasing a film camera. This video confirms I’m on the right path. Thanks for sharing
Hey there I too have deleted tiktok about 2 weeks ago and have begun to journal and create outlines of stories I want to tell in a multitude of medias like novels, movie manuscripts and graphic novels. And began to document my day to day life and thoughts and even took up artistry. And with much more free time I even began to cook more for myself instead of Food apps my mental health has improved tremendously because of it. I hope for the best for your fellow peers Don't give up.
Stay off of TikTok. It is the personification of what is wrong with our society today. Mindlessly consuming and wasting our time on people who are just out to make money off of us.
I needed this. I'm 41, I went to film school at 24 years old, I briefly worked in the industry before the big crash of '08 where I couldn't afford to live in LA anymore. I went back to my hometown with my tail tucked between my legs, in order to survive my mental state, I had to make a deal with myself that I would be okay with becoming just another consumer again, and not beat myself up for not being creative. Flash forward almost 18 years, and I have very little that I'm proud of. I've been successful in less creative endeavors such as strength training, I've been a home owner since 2012, I have a strong connection with my parents now, and I even still do video production as a career, but outside of work, I don't have any real hobbies or things to look forward to. I've always loved comedy, I think I will try writing some jokes or maybe a short story.
@@peterdickinson1936 43 here and I've got lots of interests, but the problem is fighting the negativity that's in my environment. We should start a group or something, lol.
Time is the only resource. Not that anyone has been listening to the lessons of my series, but I think it'll ring true for many once they begin to close in on the final chapter of their existence. ;) "Before I start, I must see my end. Destination known, my mind’s journey now begins. Upon my chariot, heart and soul’s fate revealed. In time, all points converge, hope’s strength resteeled. But to earn final peace at the universe’s endless refrain, We must see all in nothingness... before we start again." -- Diamond Dragons (series)
sometimes we end up in places we never expected, but the fact that you’ve built a solid foundation in other areas of life is something to really be proud of. creativity isn’t linear, and it's never too late to reconnect with it. strength training and homeownership are huge accomplishments that reflect dedication, and now it's about rediscovering what lights you up. comedy and storytelling can be amazing outlets, and it’s so exciting that you’re thinking of diving into that! sometimes just writing a few words or jotting down a funny thought can help reignite that spark. do your thing and please share it with us!
Great advice. I'm a creative writer and when I'm in the draft writing phase I give myself a 500 word per day goal. It could be complete trash but I have to put it down every day and move forward with my story. I've written 2 books in 4 years and started my 3rd a few months ago. After my first and second books, I posted them for free online, just to get feedback. Then I told my friends I was a writer and shared the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Just on that alone, me being open and talking about my interest in writing and my limited experience with it, I was given the chance to write a screenplay for a small production company early this year. Never wrote a screenplay before but I gave myself a deadline and worked on it a little bit every day. I gave it over to the company to review it and they said they really liked it and wanted to shoot it in January. I didn't ever expect this opportunity to ever come up but it's a culmination of small choices I made over time to sit down and write or to be more open with calling myself a creative writer. People saw the passion I had and gave me a chance, and I took it. You can do it too, whatever your creative interest is in.
@thescreenviewer1349 I guess it depends on how you measure success, but generally yes. Will you make the top ten list worldwide? Statistics say no, just like the statistics say I won't make a living off my writing. That doesn't mean you won't be a good musician or one that people don't like to listen to. I think of an interview I heard with a famous British actor. He was asked what he thought he'd be doing if he hadn't caught his big break in acting and had to be normal like the rest of us. His reply? Acting. Acting in community theater or any other gigs he could get *because he loves acting*. Sure he'd have to have a real job to pay the bills, but that wouldn't stop him from pursuing something he loved. That's how it is with me and writing and I'm sure that's how it is with you and music. How you measure success is entirely up to you, but for me, success is based on what I can do--publish a book--not on making a New York Times Bestseller list. Would that be awesome? Of course! But I have to know how difficult and minimal the chances are and be okay with different kinds of success while still challenging myself. Remember to compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not what someone else is today. I hope you do succeed in your musical endeavors. The internet made music much more accessible across the world. Find your audience and connect with them. Best of luck, my friend.
Woodworking is a wonderful pursuit - it feels like a super power. You imagine a thing, draw it, imagine it even more unique and spectacular, redesign it and set to work and one day it’s there in the real world smiling at you every day. I’ve built my own English kitchen, carved oak staircase, doors, windows and countless furniture pieces - I’m writing this lying on the oak bed I made. “I too shall something make, and glory in the making”
I discovered my kitchen subfloor had been slowly rotting away for years and had reached the point where my washing machine was starting to sink. I decided to fix it myself. I bought the wood and the tools and I have loved the challenge and experience of fixing it. It has really kick started a passion for DIY I never knew I had.
Most people have no idea how valuable this advice is in today’s world, where everyone is getting sucked into social media and the influence of content creators. Thank you so much for sharing this!
@@useewhat I think we've all tried to imitate someone else at some point, but what's truly important is realizing it's impossible to become someone else. Real growth comes from taking inspiration and striving to become the best version of ourselves.
So maybe we shouldn't get stuck in the social media hype, but rather take creative action without the urge to use it for social media purposes. I don't know if that is even possible in today's world, but freeing yourself from social media can be life changing...
Bro I literally can't make this up I was JUST having a deep chat with my mom about how I feel like I wasted the past 4 years of my life from age 19-22 and she was relating to me like we both are grieving this time lost and this video was the first video I saw when I opened the app tonight. Bless 🙏🏻
This means a lot from someone who has been told over and over again that their art isn’t worthy because they haven’t taken courses for it or won’t draw photorealism. I look to others as a way to pacify my feelings of self doubt and I don’t spend enough time trying to prove people wrong. Thank you for this reminder to have the guts to create what your heart longs for. You’re inspiring :-)
The other reality I have seen is that honestly for those who begin to publish their creations, it is not even close to instant recognition. This is a blessing. When you publish your art, don't be nervous, very few people will see it. With consistency and quality, people will tag along over time, and your growth will be exponential. Then, people will go back and see everything you have made. If you don't like your original creations, you can delete them before the majority of people will see it. To put it simply, you have plenty of time to move the pieces around, so release now and get started!!
@@monodrifterVirtually every photo image you’ve even seen has been edited in one way or another. Photo realism in illustration is used for medical textbooks because it produces a better image for instruction. Photo realism is also used to create photo like images that didn’t otherwise exist. Each has its place, and one doesn’t replace the other. Today photo realistic images can be created in the digital realm more efficiently and in less time than if done completely by hand.
@begettiit’s easy to push a button but if you don’t have an artist’s eye for composition and you managed to take a great photo, it was likely a happy accident.
This is the first video I’ve watched in 2025. I really needed this. A reminder on how we view and experience the world is unique and valuable, AND worth sharing. Thank you!
Thank you. I needed this. I am 17 and I don't really know, what to do with my life. So instead of sitting still, thinking about that question, or trying to find motivation, I just waste my time on youtube or instagram. This 'over-consumerism' makes me feel too depressed, and every day feels like a waste. I need to change that I just had to get this off of my chest
Good luck, go and find something you love and just do it for the present moment! 'What to do with your life' will come later, in stages, and direction changes, and lots of unexpected things. You can't plan it so don't lose any sleep on it. Just go and do. Have an adventure. The rest will follow
@@bensteelemusic Thank you! I'll try my best. For the 'I don't know, what to do with my life ' part I just have absolutely no clue what kinda profession I want to do.. But hopefully this will change soon
A powerful message in just a couple minutes. Not wasting our time, not selling anything, just pure motivation - thank you! “Make this the last video you watch today, and just start creating… even if it’s only for 10 minutes.” I shall do exactly that!
Same thing happened to me, man. I dropped out of college at the age of 18 to start my own thing. Then, I got a minimum-wage job to save some money. I managed to save a decent amount, but I didn’t take any serious actions and wasn’t disciplined. Then COVID hit, and I burned through all my savings. After that, I got another job. My initial plan was to work that job for one year, save as much money as possible, and quit. But 3.3 years later, I was still working the same job with no savings. Finally, I quit on July 28th to become a freelance video editor, and since then, I’ve been learning video editing.

The key words here " i was made to create something of my own " ... dont ever care about what others think about your creations , your role is to create , express yourself in your own wonderful , unique way . What others think is none of your concern. Just keep unfolding like a beautiful flower
Thanks , I procrastinated so much in 2024 feel like wasted this year , not working on my ideas and projects and just stuck in the habit of consuming . I will change this bad habits for sure and keep working hard
everyone has those moments where time slips away, and sometimes we get stuck in the habit of consuming rather than creating. the important thing is you’re aware of it, and that’s the first step toward breaking free. don’t be too hard on yourself for 2024-it’s not about how much you’ve done, but about what you’ll do next. every new day is an opportunity to start fresh, and it sounds like you’ve got that energy now! working hard on your projects will feel amazing once you start seeing your ideas come to life. you're going to have so much fun!
I’ve tricked myself into doing things by telling myself to do one small thing. If I’m overwhelmed about cleaning a room, I tell myself to just clean this one small corner. I end up spending an hour or two cleaning much more than that. If I’m too lazy to go for a walk or run, I just say I’ll just walk to the end of the street and come back. I end up walking for 45-60 minutes. When I wanted to learn CAD, I just tell myself “Just learn how to make a small shape, with a hole in it.” Next thing I know, I’m 3 hours in following along tutorials on RUclips. We tend to look at the whole journey and get overwhelmed. What we need to do is look at the small steps and take them one at a time.
I have been stuck over consuming content for about a decade now. Spiraling into bad times, and using it to cope with the harshness of life. Little did i know, it was the very thing that was stopping me from enjoying life until it was too late. Next week I start a new chapter of my life. Traveling the country, documenting everything in an artistic manner. Only having a 5gb data plan that forces me to not consume, but to be in the world, to create, and share. I plan to show people that they can change, become unstuck in life with my own story, and inspire others to get out there and start connecting with the world more. Its like we've all forgotten what it is to be alive, only being fed illusions of the happiness we want on our feeds. Time to break down the walls, and build new bridges. Time to share, connect, and create. All for the low price of free 99
it's amazing how sometimes the very thing we turn to for comfort ends up keeping us from truly living. the idea of stepping back from constant consumption and engaging with the world directly is so refreshing. it’s easy to forget what being truly alive feels like when we’re constantly bombarded with curated versions of happiness. but you’re taking that step-creating, experiencing, and sharing your real, raw story. i love that you’re using your own transformation as a tool to inspire others. life can get heavy, but it’s all about reconnecting with ourselves, others, and the world around us. have all of the fun!
"I'm not meant to just be a consumer in this world, I'm meant to create something of my own". Thank you for this video, ive been feeling like this for so long! Dreaming of creating and I finally started this year, im excited to see where it goes.
Also, stop viewing your creations through the lens of sellability. One of my greatest hurdles in being creative is, that I have this subconcious thought that anything I create has to be a masterwork to count. Part of that, I think, is that we as a society view creativity through the lens of profit generation. Even the first compliment most people reach for is "you could sell that". I think we should start to create for the sake of creating instead.
You are so right! This reminds me of someone I told with enthusiasm about a comic on the internet that I found, the comic artist drew hundreds of comic pages for everyone to see for free (by the way, it was a fan comic, a "next generation story" of the original story). And this person asked me: "What's the point of creating something that you don't earn money from?" 😐 So sad! One of my personal experiences with making art my profession was that I was commissioned to paint a picture. The theme of the picture was not mine, my imagination was honestly bored with it, I had no good ideas about how the picture should look and the picture just wasn't good enough in the end. Follow your heart, and don`t care about followers or earn money with your creations.
Yes, so important! I often did that but then I think back to the days when I just took photos for fun for example and just uploaded them on Deviantart and it felt nice. It was just a creative outlet, later with Social Media and stuff I got into the habit of thinking it's not worth creating things I can't sell.
A few months ago I was feeling overwhelmed by the sheer amount of content/information falling into my lap, and the thought came to me : I'm brain constipated! So much is getting in, and nothing is getting out! It's literally a feeling of being fed up. So I started getting something out: pottery and a little drawing... I´m feeling better, but still I fall in the overconsuming trap easily. Your video motivates me to make it in earnest, thank you!!!
Dude is so right. As a photographer and as creator, gettin in my car and going out to take photos and explore has truly freed my mind. There will be a point tho, where you will get sad because you see beauty around you, and those you love dont see it. They are so negative that their mood brings you down. Dont let them. Remove yourself from negatives spaces and find what makes you happy.
Werner Herzog, german director, once said that he wrote a book in one week because he felt that in one week he could concentrate all the energy in the writing. After one week your focus changes and so your life. That’s a good point to avoid procrastination.
*I HAVE 2 CREATIVE "JOBS"* this is my advice, set yourself a tiny daily minimum and NEVER NEVER miss it - even if what you produce is crap...!!! Crap is INFINATLY better than nothing. When I wrote my first book I set a daily minimum of 1,500 words and very often the first 750 - 1,000 would be terrible, but I would get into the flow and write more than 1,500 and maybe 500 made it into the final edit. Its not important that everything is amazing, its important that you DO SOMETHING - cos it _might_ be amazing...!!!
It hit me 7 years ago. I'm now spending time with my parents ever since. Never listened to anyone who tried. Ever.😊 I would've been: a good artist, a good writer, graphic designer, 3d artist, web developer, handyman, electronic repair guy, soap maker, runner, teacher, scientist, and many more. Not joking one bit. Thanks. Much love.😊
even if you don't get your name out there (with enough time and effort I'm sure you will) it's better that you create regardless- otherwise you'll feel bitter, and resentful of yourself for never giving it a chance. I just made a video on my favorite kid's game, something that I've wanted to do for years, but always delayed it for fear of failure, but if you have the temptation to create, I highly urge you DO IT, and don't fall into stagnation within yourself. In a world so set on following the latest trend, consuming the newest most entertaining form of content, it's in human creativity where we truly thrive. I believe in you, friend.
just appreciate that this video is as long as it should be. Tired of 15-20 + minutes videos that actually could be 5 minutes long without any damage to value of the content. The man has something to say. he said it, that's it. Done
Felt like this so much, quit my job to cycle Italy and document it. Getting somewhere now, slowly. Being a consumer has never been easier, so easy to fall into the rut, if you're unhappy, you just got to wake up, stop going through the motions and make an effort to do something different. Figuring out what to do is always the hardest, you can spend forever thinking about what would be the best for you, the most profitable, the most sustainable, but you just have to pick something and make it right. It won't feel right from the start, but you'll feel better for it.
What I genuinely loved about this video, is that unlike a lot of motivational videos, it's not just about monetary gain. You refer to doing things that make you feel like a child and whole again. That's key. Thanks for sharing!
I've recently started to do this. You don't need to make anything life changing but if I could leave this world making at least 1 thing that other people around me enjoyed using before I pass away I'll feel that my life will have been worth living. It hurts to live everyday and continually consume and use the creations of other people having never contributed to society myself. I've started making a channel on TikTok and Instagram, posting my photos and making 3d prints just gotta keep at it.
I'm right there with ya. I started prepping my canvas for painting. The first coat of gesso is drying as I type this. I subscribed to your channel to travel along with your progress. I hope I can create my own channel sometime soon.
Technically your channel already exists, you just have to stop uploading… and anything works it doesn’t have to be something big, it can be something small maybe just 10-30 seconds, that can be enough to share some of your ideas.
Thank you for this encouragement. I began working on a novel about four years ago. It’s about half way done. I still very much believe in my idea and the story I came up with. I even as creative stop gaps to rest my mind wrote short stories and one of those short stories I got published. Which encouraged me even more to complete my novel. But then things happened in life and side tracked me. More than a year. Two years since I got side tracked by life and I wrote maybe one more chapter in my book. But I haven’t thrown my self into it heart and soul like I did before. What you say is true. I plan on completing my work and looking for an agent then a publisher once I finish. But this, this made me think. I have to finish my work.
I kinda agree up until "part 3: share your work".... which turns everyone else into consumers, allows social media to flourish and serves to create a cycle where the validation of sharing becomes part of the process.
Thanks for reminding me. There are so many distractions in the digital world that I forget what I really need to do to be happy. What stops me from creating are expectations, when I should just create for the sake of creating, like as a child. The consuming amplifies this since a lot I consume is "better" work than mine, which sets the expectations too high. It's easier to enjoy the high quality work of others than to go through the pain of being "bad" until reaching that quality myself. What would completely fix this is forgetting the quality and just enjoying the creating. The quality would be a side product and not the goal, which comes by itself with time, or by accident. Paradoxically, the more I think about this even in this merciful sense, the more I'm afraid of creating, since the problem is thinking about it at all rather than just being free of thought and enjoying the doing. This is why one thing I disagree just a little bit about on this video, is having the goal of sharing and improving. Because those set up external expectations (e.g. monetary or social value), which often create fear and unnecessary uncertainty of ability, and lead to the inability to create. Although, if you are able to forget these external pressures and the expectations are purely internal without the egoistic mess, the goal of improving and sharing could be useful and might improve efficiency. Good subject, good video
This is the right reminder at the right time for me, thank you! For me, it's always been music, and even if I am creating mostly for myself, it does make me feel as if I'm putting something out there. It also makes me incredibly happy when someone shares that they can relate to some of my songs. I feel like that's worth more in the long run than consuming media without any action
I agree with everything but posting and sharing your work on social media. It feels egotistical and inauthentic. Post it in the real world with no name. Just art with no ego that breaks someone’s routine and makes them smile, laugh, or think. To get the feeling of progress, keep many notebooks and take the time to reflect on your work. It’s a huge confidence booster
I'm so glad I clicked on this video because it's what I needed to hear. I only started my channel this year and slowly began to upload videos alongside my studies and working a part-time job. Creating and uploading my own short films was SO much more rewarding than the stuff I was doing during the day, no matter the grades I got or the money I was earning. However few subscribers or followers I had was irrelevant, frankly, because that one positive comment would always remind me to keep at it. Remember, dedicating just a little bit each day to your passion will do you wonders!
I really needed this. You showing up on my front page was fate. I've been coming up with so many ideas yet nothing has been put in motion yet. I'm gonna start creating!
I'll say one things as someone who has had a lot to think on lately do to some unfortunate events in life. Sharing can be a way for us to connect to each other, even if its just a single individual who sees it. You can still create things even if you dont share them online. Sometimes things are just for us or maybe its something you want to share with the people you care about most. Start by just creating and allowing yourself to take up space. What motivates you? What makes you feel? what is your goal? I find making small goals at first can give you a start. Write down your goal that you can obtain and set times where you can put the time into it. Keep doing it as consistently as you can so that you can motivate yourself to keep doing it. Then you can keep adding on to challenge yourself more instead of just falling apart when you cant be perfect at the start. Its your journey, not anyone elses so dont waste your time comparing yourself to others.
I love that perspective on “creating”. There’s something so overlooked when it comes to self expression, but the more you do it the more inspired and creative you get. Thanks for this simple yet powerful message.
Yes! This! I started doing this last month as well and I love the creative process and realized that even if it’s only for me, that’s enough. I’m a life coach, actor and comedian and my mission is helping people heal through humor. I started finally getting out of my own way and creating comedic videos and characters and posting everyday and the act of doing that regardless of the outcome has been freeing for me and gets me creating other things. Playing and creating is the way out of most of our issues! Great video! 😊😊😊
This video came at the right time. I have had a youtube channel since 2016, but I have never committed to posting videos. I have about 300 subscribers and a few music production tutorial videos that went well, but I never saw it as my "thing", I felt like I wasn't good enough to pursue it. If I were posting videos all these years, I would certainly have thousands of subscribers, but my consumption of yt videos, reels, etc. prevents me from pursuing my "dream". But everything is changing, minutes before I was making a list of goals for my channel and I hope to achieve it. Greetings from Brazil.
Go for it! I’ve done the same. Old retired gal here who has toyed with starting a YT channel. I’d get sidetracked watching countless videos or get frustrated with the technical stuff. Today is the day!
Thanks, this video just popped up as I was sinking into a youtube procrastination hole - just the right moment to be reminded to stop wasting time and work on my project!
Amazing advice. The best part of sharing your work at first is that you won’t be self-conscious of what people think. I’ve noticed this with my writing. I took more risks when I knew nobody was reading. I now think twice about what I publish now that people are reading.
2:21 I knew I want to create something because I inherently sense this promotes happiness in human beings. We're so depressed and listless because we create NOTHING with our own hands anymore, and we are meant to create with ingenuity. We evolved to mold wood, wicker, steel, clay, cloth, color, and sound into works of art and/or practical use throughout human history! What I follow most are watercolorists, followed shortly by sketch artists. I will work on honing these skills not for sale, but to nourish my own soul. That's the secret to happiness!
Consuming should only be to support a creative life. It should not be an end in itself and entertainment. I realized this when I became homebound with a digestive disease. I was having a more meaningful life creating to share with others than when I spent most of my free time socializing (shopping and eating out).
I love the upfront take with this video and the calm background. This was a truly eye-opening perspective on consumption and creation. Had to check out your other accounts - your insights on social media are brilliant and your photos are super cool and evocative! I hope your creative endeavours last you with a lifetime of fulfillment. Definitely subscribing as well. Thanks very much for this wonderful take! 🌟🙏
Phenomenal video with a phenomenal message. I think everyone should comment and like this video so I will go to viral. I’ve grown so tired of so many RUclipsrs reviewing camera gear. This is a breath of fresh air, and I’m sure it will resonate with lots of people. I kinda like the funky hat as well.
How you got your start resonates with me too. The need to create and the drive to create as a way to solve problems and to make opportunities happen. I too looked to photography as my first step to making change in my life. Keep on this path, my friend. Speaking from many years your senior, it will lead you down a path to further ventures and the skills keep stacking and the opportunities scale up as your skills stack up, over the decades.
Thankyou Sam, I really needed to hear this. I've been consuming for far too long. I've started to write children's book scripts, but keep telling myself that they're not good enough. This is the encouragement I need. Happy New Year to you!
What you're saying is totally true. Nothing beats being creative and that's why I still press on with my RUclips channel, even if I only have small views and subscribers at the moment. But it helps me self express, get out of consumer mode and share my ideas and lifestyle with anyone who cares to listen. It gets me out of my head and that's a great thing. Great advice thanks.
I have accumulated a total of 290k today. I am truly grateful for all the knowledge and information you have provided me over the past few weeks. I started with 55k just 2 months ago.
Sophie Rogerz? I was introduced to her by a friend. My husband and I have been working with her for months, and it was through her profits that we were able to grow in the real estate market.
Creating is also internal. Presence has depth. Once you're mindful, you're aligned with the present moment and you're not driven by desire. You're then truly creating, reflecting what's important, and what is right within that moment.
Man it's amazing cause i asked my self these exact questions in 2019, started a music project right after and I never regreted it. I'm releasing 1, 2 sometimes 3 albums per year, some of my work finds his audience, some other don't. It doesn't matter. What matters, is the creation process itself.

Only God knows how much grateful i am. After so much struggles I now own a new house and my family is happy once again everything is finally falling into place!!
I started pretty low, though, $5000 thereabouts. The return came massive. Joey is in school doing well, telling me of new friends he's meeting in school. Thank you Evelyn Vera, you're a miracle.
Wow...I know her too she is a licensed broker and a FINRA agent she is popular in US and Canada she is really amazing woman with good skills and experience.
This video will be recommended by RUclips to more people just like how it was recommended to me. And people will going to relate on it because most of us now are afraid that we're going to waste another year as 2025 is about to start in the next day. So, as we watched this, we don't want to happen the same old rotuine we've done this year that we think is just a waste of time. Sometimes, overthinking would only kill our dreams, instead of starting to create.
Short, sweet, and full of a TON of valuable information. I dont even want to watch another RUclips video because this one was so. Good... Thank you for creating it, and sharing this message. It was incredibly eye opening for me and exactly what I needed.
Thank you! This video made it into my "great - watch it again"-list. Although it was perfect for *this* moment when I was procrastinating... I think the tasks we have are also a good starting point. I'm about to make a beautiful place out of my messy home!
I'm beginning to say YES to myself. Wealth has different connotations...... It's different for everyone. SAY YES! I love that you filmed this in the blue hour...💙
Somehow the algorithm gave me this video, which was exactly what I needed. I’ve been “planning” to start uploading films about making things for over two years now and constantly make excuses for why I haven’t done it yet. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. This motivated me to finally go back and update my short story like I've been meaning to. Please make more videos like this.
Wow... Just wow. The music, your.voice, the way you elaborate on every step is amazing. I'm in my 40s and this video really touched me, I've been struggling with depression and a desire to create again and you really inspired me more than anyone else on RUclips so far

I needed this token of advice. Aside from wanting to get into business I’ve got a passion in music specifically, music production and am also beginner-intermediate level drummer who wants to get to the next level. However I find myself watching videos trying to learn 20 different things at once instead of focusing on learning one concept at a time. This video Made me realize Consumerism can kill creativity when your spending too much time on buying gear or comparing yourself to others on social media
This was actually really helpful. I am one for putting up barriers and I have been really down recently, feeling stuck in a rut. But by simply just say “you need to create something” I know what that means, I can create something and that creativity will get me back like being a kid again.
"I need to learn more" is my favorite form of procrastination.
Same here, it makes my brain happy!
@@RADICALDESIGNOFFICIAL I used to be really smart back in my younger days when I had no device to distract me. Now I procrastinate terminally.
Modern society is built to keep you in a consumer state, but once you switch sides, it's freedom !
Love this, will quote!

Most helpful trick to me was:
I just need to do one single thing on this project per day.
Perfect trick, it's building a habit and also using momentum. Because once you get started, you often just keep going.
Another way it's described is the "Non-Zero days" rule. There's a subreddit about it if you wanna track it down but it's really helpful for routines
I love channels like this. Takes me back to a time when RUclips was about connecting people and not monetising them.
Thanks for all the likes everyone. What a great community 😁

😮 so cool! It still lives within you … look at your handle. Find ways around it and be open. Maybe, just maybe it’ll lead to other things ❤
Oh my gosh, I am so sorry you broke your spine D: I hope you’re able to find happiness and adventure again
What did you do? Was the group about going into and exploring abandoned buildings?
If you broke your spine exploring abandoned buildings maybe it’s a good thing to stop doing?
@@tom_marsden I mean they didn't say that they broke their spine doing that, just that they broke their spine.

Good advice!
Absolute truth.
Mindlessly consuming and wasting our time on people who are just out to make money off of us.
now try to spend as little as possible and do.
I've always loved comedy, I think I will try writing some jokes or maybe a short story.

or make a film!!!!!! you have the power!!!!! I will watch your film. We all have a story to tell!!!!
sometimes we end up in places we never expected, but the fact that you’ve built a solid foundation in other areas of life is something to really be proud of. creativity isn’t linear, and it's never too late to reconnect with it. strength training and homeownership are huge accomplishments that reflect dedication, and now it's about rediscovering what lights you up. comedy and storytelling can be amazing outlets, and it’s so exciting that you’re thinking of diving into that! sometimes just writing a few words or jotting down a funny thought can help reignite that spark. do your thing and please share it with us!
Amazing story. Where can I follow your journey on socials?
Congratulations!!!!
Congrats, thanks for sharing! 🎉
even as a musician on a third world country?
"Start small, but start now."
Great advice. Doing something, ANYTHING, is better than nothing.
Look
Can confirm.

You’re inspiring :-)
can you post ur art on your youtube I’d like to see and support
The other reality I have seen is that honestly for those who begin to publish their creations, it is not even close to instant recognition. This is a blessing. When you publish your art, don't be nervous, very few people will see it. With consistency and quality, people will tag along over time, and your growth will be exponential. Then, people will go back and see everything you have made. If you don't like your original creations, you can delete them before the majority of people will see it. To put it simply, you have plenty of time to move the pieces around, so release now and get started!!
lets see your art! would love to support you as you get started also!
@@monodrifterVirtually every photo image you’ve even seen has been edited in one way or another. Photo realism in illustration is used for medical textbooks because it produces a better image for instruction. Photo realism is also used to create photo like images that didn’t otherwise exist.

Best 4 minutes I've spent in a while. Instead of taking from the world, add to it.
Best advice I've ever got ''just start, even if you don't know everything''
You will either learn or succeed!
Ever.😊
I would've been: a good artist, a good writer, graphic designer, 3d artist, web developer, handyman, electronic repair guy, soap maker, runner, teacher, scientist, and many more. Not joking one bit. Thanks. Much love.😊
Thanks, I'm an artist and have been wanting to make a mixtape for years to try and get my name out, as well as vocal lessons. The time is now.
yes go for it 😊
even if you don't get your name out there (with enough time and effort I'm sure you will) it's better that you create regardless- otherwise you'll feel bitter, and resentful of yourself for never giving it a chance.
Go for it in 2025!
just appreciate that this video is as long as it should be.
Great video!
I consumed a lot today and am sitting on the toilet creating something right now
I'm right there with ya.
@sempervelox Do you mean on youtube? I always wondered about that.
Your photos at 1:05 are very nice! Regardless of where you take that hobby from here, I just wanna say _Good Work!_ ^‿^
Thank you for this encouragement.
No 20 min video about this topic, straight to the point & solid advice. Thank you.
this video popped up on my feed as i was doomscrolling youtube and procrastinating editing my videos, thank you i needed this!
We consume content because we are empty.
"It's time to start creating" that's so true and energizing 👍
Yes, a totally different alive state when you enter the creative state. Thanks for the reminder!!
Wow this is one of the most impactful short I have heard. Thank you!
The advice on how to figure out WHAT you should create is gold.
I know, right? "Look at what you consume and start from there"
Consuming should only be to support a creative life. It should not be an end in itself and entertainment. I realized this when I became homebound with a digestive disease. I was having a more meaningful life creating to share with others than when I spent most of my free time socializing (shopping and eating out).
1:41 making a comic book. He read me like a book 📙
Thank you, I needed this at the end of 2024. I am revealing my creative self through 2025, wish all of you the best.
bro epic, im gonna cook something good right now, no pressure, just excitement. thanks yo
Creating will unlock your true self. Beautiful video, thank you for the inspiration.
YOU'RE RIGHT THIS IS MY SIGN
How you got your start resonates with me too. The need to create and the drive to create as a way to solve problems and to make opportunities happen. I too looked to photography as my first step to making change in my life. Keep on this path, my friend. Speaking from many years your senior, it will lead you down a path to further ventures and the skills keep stacking and the opportunities scale up as your skills stack up, over the decades.
I love the relaxing vibe to this video
Thankyou Sam, I really needed to hear this. I've been consuming for far too long. I've started to write children's book scripts, but keep telling myself that they're not good enough. This is the encouragement I need.
Happy New Year to you!
Dont know you bro but your badass title + thumbnail brought me here! 🎉😊
If I may ask, how do you manage to earn so much? What are your strategies?
Diving into the digital market is definitely advisable, but it requires expert guidance, and with Ms. Sophie Rogerz, you can’t go wrong.
HOW!? I know it is possible. I would appreciate it if you showed me how to do it.
Sophie Rogerz? I was introduced to her by a friend. My husband and I have been working with her for months, and it was through her profits that we were able to grow in the real estate market.
I keep hearing a lot about Ms. Sophie; she must be really good.
Creating is also internal. Presence has depth. Once you're mindful, you're aligned with the present moment and you're not driven by desire. You're then truly creating, reflecting what's important, and what is right within that moment.
I felt more freedom, when I stopped to think about posting my work to internet. Just have it on my own. And show friends, when feeling so. 🤔
Man it's amazing cause i asked my self these exact questions in 2019, started a music project right after and I never regreted it.
I'm releasing 1, 2 sometimes 3 albums per year, some of my work finds his audience, some other don't. It doesn't matter. What matters, is the creation process itself.
*I'm favoured only God knows how much I praise Him,* $230k every 4weeks! | now have a big mansion and can now afford anything and also support God's work and the church.
Only God knows how much grateful i am. After so much struggles I now own a new house and my family is happy once again everything is finally falling into place!!
Wow that's huge, how do you make that much monthly?.. I have been looking for ways to be successful, please how??
It's Ms. Evelyn Vera doing, she's changed my life.
I started pretty low, though, $5000 thereabouts. The return came massive. Joey is in school doing well, telling me of new friends he's meeting in school. Thank you Evelyn Vera, you're a miracle.
Wow...I know her too she is a licensed broker and a FINRA agent she is popular in
US and Canada she is really amazing woman with good skills and experience.
in less than 5 minutes you said something easy to understand and simple to start doing. great work Sam!
Thank you Sam.I hope to meet more people like you in this world and share peace and love with them.
I love this message, thank you! (Love the boldness of someone on RUclips saying let this be the last video you watch today too, take that algorithm!!)
I came across your channel and I loved it! I need this a lot today, thanks!
Thank you!
We have consumed EVERYTHING and ANYTHING their is nothing left to CONSUME. Now put all that knowledge to work and become something GREAT!!!
Thank you so much for this video. This motivated me to finally go back and update my short story like I've been meaning to. Please make more videos like this.
It’s okay to take small steps. You deserve compassion and patience with yourself as you navigate through this difficult time ❤
Wow... Just wow. The music, your.voice, the way you elaborate on every step is amazing. I'm in my 40s and this video really touched me, I've been struggling with depression and a desire to create again and you really inspired me more than anyone else on RUclips so far
"Look at the accounts you follow and try create something similar"
Thanks, became a furry latex bnodage artist specializing in asylum and prison scenarios
You hit me right through the heart, and then dropped concise advice. You're doing something really unique, all the best to you
Thanks Sam this video gave me a slap to the back of my head to get moving and set more goals .
Very simple and VERY solid. Thanks, Sam!
1. Decide what you want to create
2 Give yourself a creative challenge
3 Share what you create
This was actually really helpful. I am one for putting up barriers and I have been really down recently, feeling stuck in a rut.
But by simply just say “you need to create something”
I know what that means, I can create something and that creativity will get me back like being a kid again.
