You can't die the way you want to. Overthinking is normal. You can't make people love you. Most of your friends are dull. Every time you get good at something, you will eventually fail at it. Old age will get you in the end. You will never truly appreciate the good times you have now, until they cease.
I don’t agree with most of your friends being dull being an inescapable, every-person kind of thing. None of my friends share this trait. I would not be friends with them otherwise I absolutely agree with everything else you mentioned tho xD
@@headdog9895 I don't agree with your agreement to everything else he mentioned XD It would be fun to just say this much haha but this video made me wiser temporarily too - We can choose how we die for sure. Most of us don't want to so it just happens in an expected or unexpected way because it's unavoidable in the end - Overthinking is not a normal normal. I'm sure because I dislike doing it. It may be a usual human characteristic but desired to be normal? No. It disrupts our mood and rest - We can certainly "make" some people love us. Not forcefully of course, but some love me for example because if I'm interesting and kind to them. Or at least like me because I "made" myself this way. You can better and work on your behavior. hm. Scratch that. Love is a different kind of like, mostly dependent on the one feeling it. I miss that...
This was a realization I started feeling a couple years ago - “most of your friends are dull”. I swear it’s true. I find hanging out with people utterly boring. No one makes any effort to get to know you, no one puts in 50% into your “friendship.” People have little interesting to say. It might be context sensitive. Because people indeed have their stories and their experiences. But I feel most people keep things very superficial. Whatever the reason, based on where I am in life, I need something deeper than chitchat. You need a partner, a best friend. You just need one person who gets you. Until then, I’ll do my own thing. Socializing is exhausting and usually unfulfilling.
@@rogsolaris7411 Having just finished 5 solo cruises in the past year, and sometimes inflicting myself upon other people at solos group dinner tables, yes most people are utterly boring. We are born with two ears and one mouth, I have learned it is better to listen twice as much as I talk. But after listening to other people's utterly boring sad mundane lives, I find that most of my new friends are dull. I fnd the crew utterly fascinating, but I have to remind myself that they are paid to be nice to me, they aren't really my friends. So, yeah, interacxting with dull people is like a work of mercy for me. I get no pleasure from interacting with other people. I only interact out of a sense of moral duty, and the fact that I am not a hermit and than socializing helps my mental and physical wellness and heatlh. That is, too say, as bad as socializing is, being a full-time hermit is worse. The end.

0:52 Yes! This. I always get anxiety thinking about maintaining things once i get there. But now i just came to the realization that’s not how the real world works.
I think after insecurity, the main point of "you'll never solve these problems" got lost a little, and it became more about advice to solve these common problems. I do think you talked them through well. My personal solution to these "problems" is that while they cannot be solved, life is partly about trying to solve them, even if that is futile. Being present is not only about enjoying the journey to something bigger, sometimes (or oftentimes) it is indulging in immediate pleasure. Finding a perfect balance between those two modes is probably another unsolvable problem.

About uncertainty, the way I learned this lesson was watching the movie Carrie. I felt like I had been bullied in high school and elementary. But that was me giving them too much credit. I thought they knew what they were talking about when they made fun of me. Carrie showed me that they didn't. They're uncertain about me, and making guesses, and making stuff up for fun. None of it was from a place of authority to actually make any real decision about who I am or how worthy I am.
Everything he said here is true, but I honestly don't know how much it helps me. Maybe some of our delusions are necessary, such as I will not live forever but there is always the opportunity of tomorrow. Right?
These kind of problems is the young mans game, eventually you become wiser (hopefully). Find yourself, be yourself and find peace in who you are... then most of your problems will go away
As a grown up adult at some point of my life I realized that problems, constantly appearing in a particular sphere of life literally feed me and pay my bills. If there wouldn't be these problems, people wouldn't hire me to solve them and I would quickly end up being jobless/in search of new problems to solve. So yeah, they will literally never end, but it's actually how it should be
When i remember about uncertainty it puts me down and then i can't stop thinking i don't deserve to live because of how inflexible and straight forward dumb and unlucky i am. Thanks for reminder mate

I’ve learnt that travelling the world, embracing discomfort and having a just do it mindset can make your mindset pretty bulletproof and all these “problems” that most people have become pretty insignificant, because you are riding a buffalo on a random Vietnamese farm or speeding through the jungle on a moped loving life. Happy new year (same shit different date on the calendar) 🎉🎉
its like you speak my whole mind in a 14 minute video, time to overthink my life for the rest of my life i guess, guess i should focus on living more than trying to fix it, tend to forget that though. This was a high quality video. So insightful and comforting. I loved it. Please don't delete it! You should become a voice actor. Your voice is so soothing to listen to Congrats. You've got a new subscriber!
I don't even remember where I got this from, but I've carried it in my head for as long as I can remember. If there is a problem, and that problem has a solution, then there is no problem since you only need to apply the solution. If there is a problem, and that problem has no solution, then there is no problem, since a problem to be a problem it needs to have a solution. A problem with no solution is simply a fact. The wisdom behind it I think its pretty deep, and I've tried to always think it this way whenever I'm faced with difficult things.
It is really cool to see young people getting to the understanding of the Four Noble Truths expounded by the Buddha thousands of years ago. Nothing changes. Focus on the Unseen.
Love how you make it sound so stupid to think the things that are easy to think, It truly is foolish to consume your life with these worries. Love the way you present this. Thank you for the video, definitely gave me some peace
I've found that love solves almost all of life's problems. Love for myself and others allows me to move past blockages that would break down other people or relationships.
Let mè guess a woman 😂 you see there is a word together its how we men get programned to never do woman thing and find our own company to be enough and love ourselves... to get her 😮
Saying 'never will I' is the same as saying can't. Delete can't from your vocabulary both mentally and verbally. You'll become shocked at what you CAN do. And ignore everyone who tells you 'you can't do that' or 'that'll never work' because it's the same thing. Someone told me to do this at 17 and it served me greatly everyday of my since. With practice, persistance, patience and planning, you can do pretty much anything you apply yourself to that you want to achieve. Never stop reaching, growing and learning. Stagnation is death.
Your mannerism remind me SLIGHTLY of Captain Jack Sparrow in the best way possible. I adore your voice, and this video was great and highly needed, thank you:)
John Goodman, in the movie Matinee, says to this kid, "You think grown-ups know what they're doing? That's just a hustle, kid. Grown-ups are making it up as they go along, just like you." This really resonated, and so does this advice on the uncertain nature of life. I'm old now, and when I want to do something, I just do it, knowing that it might not even be that good. It's not that I've lost my standards. I've just realized that these standards are sort of ridiculous. I mean if you listen to Bach and read Dostoevsky, you are throwing yourself in the shade by making any sort of comparison. Creativity is fun, outside of any social judgments.

Not delay pleasure. He talked about two different kinds of pleasure. Longterm or shortterm. You can delay short term pleasure, but this doesn't make it last longer. An example for short term pleasure would be taking drugs.
You should do some videos/newsletters on the theories of Nietzsche, Kierkegaard and Camus, and how to apply them in your life. I find that philosophical concepts tend to resonate more than psychological concepts. Great video, you have definitely read Dostoevsky!
Insecurity, and basically everything else in this video, are best handled by mindfulness practice. The less you are wrapped up in the ego, the less you have to deal with in this list. You can actually watch your mind being absolutely ridiculous and realize that you aren't that.

i love every second of this video, you remind it to me again and in a crystal-clear. a good way to start the new-year. Thank you as always♡
something about you is so natural, maybe voice, gestures, eyes... feels sincere like an old friend. bless you man!
This is the most comprehensive video of all the values I’ve learned from last years experience. Beautifully done. Thank you
Your videos make me feel so much better. Your intelligence, wisdom, simple explanations and soft tone make me feel like a good friend is keeping me company. Thank you so much. May you have happiness in your life for helping people like me who are mentally struggling
Yeah I feel the same way about the channel too
And here i am, facing midlife chaos and existential drama. And all i needed was this video!! ✌️😊🇬🇧🥰💥🙇♀️🙏
It's not just what you say being true, you're also a great showman - subscribed!
Watching your videos feels like therapy. Thanks for offering your perspectives
A whole lot of comfort and reassurance in one video. Thank you, you have no idea how much this has helped me already. ♥
Thank you Lewis. After watching, I realized how much I needed to hear these. You are perfect, keep on with your good content
I love this take! 🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂
Everything he said here is true, but I honestly don't know how much it helps me. Maybe some of our delusions are necessary, such as I will not live forever but there is always the opportunity of tomorrow. Right?
I swear, sometimes these videos you make come at such a right time, it's like you're a fly on my wall
Wether its MK ultra or just societal problems, your have been a real source of healing to me and i honnestly wish to thank you. I hope i can one day be even half as good as you at being a youtuber
I’ve never connected more to a video ever. Audibly laughed and throughout the mind blowing ideas we all just can’t go by accepting. Keep it up!
I love the quote “get busy living or get busy dying” in Shawshank redemption. Im procrastinating going to bed, i have to get up in 4 hours. Staying up to deal with the consequences later.
Nothing is certain, and even that is not certain.
This is one of your most important videos ❤ Thank you for being a counterweight to all the productivity hype on this platform
This was a high quality video. So insightful and comforting. I loved it. Please don't delete it!
You should become a voice actor. Your voice is so soothing to listen to
Congrats. You've got a new subscriber!
Thanks for this Lewis!!! Played it twice immediately. Will come back to this from time to time.
This man exudes the confidence of someone who has found true and lasting peace
this is one of the best videos that I have watched in my whole life!!! Allah bless you
I saw this video in the perfect timing
Love how you make it sound so stupid to think the things that are easy to think,
It truly is foolish to consume your life with these worries.
Love the way you present this.
Thank you for the video, definitely gave me some peace
This is exactly what I needed on this morning I was dreading all of my problems so much. Much appreciated for the perspective, sir
I've found that love solves almost all of life's problems. Love for myself and others allows me to move past blockages that would break down other people or relationships.
Let mè guess a woman 😂 you see there is a word together its how we men get programned to never do woman thing and find our own company to be enough and love ourselves... to get her 😮
Thank you, your words are like a warm, snuggly blanket to the soul.
As Jim Morrison wrote and sang,”The future is always uncertain and the end is always near.”
Best 14 mins of this year on youtube! Happy new year! Keep up the good work
Saying 'never will I' is the same as saying can't.
Thank you, and what a lovely accent!
Marvelous perspectives. But I must also say that your voice is like a warm bath with a feeling of sweet song. Incredibly soothing.
OMG. I needed this but again kind of left me with more anxiety.
This is so beautiful. Wise words that could change the course of many lives for the better. Thank you.
I love your videos! This one really hits home today because I have so many clients who exhibit symptoms of toxic positivity. It’s so gratifying and ultimately healing to face our shadow side! Thank you for the work you do.❤❤❤
Thanks
thank you :) that's very kind
Looks like captain Price is back at it again

HEYYY!!
Been caught up with uni, haha.
First times are always a bit rusty but Im working on building that momentum.
Thanks for the amazing advice in the video it really helped me chilllax a bit about productivity and reminded me to enjoy the journey.
You’re a lifesaver as always
Pure gold !!!
Very much enjoyed this! Cheers from North Carolina in the US. Appreciate you Lewis!
1. Phati main jina sikh, nothing is certain.
2. What do you need to do? Zoom out, why you started.
3 & 4. Get comfortable with being yourself.
5. Delay pleasure.
Not delay pleasure. He talked about two different kinds of pleasure. Longterm or shortterm. You can delay short term pleasure, but this doesn't make it last longer. An example for short term pleasure would be taking drugs.
@nostalji93 Right, a good way would be to ask yourself whether you will regret doing something or not rather than asking if you will enjoy it.
@Kaustubh-ub5zj you enjoy all pleasure by definition...
I am still learning English, and watching your video I have to stop it every 20-30 seconds to translate and learn a new word. Thank you 😅
The best video on the internet. Thank you ♥
Nice one. Im pleased you started with uncertainty. Society fosters this lie. No BS.
Yet you'll speak of uncertainty & most won't even register. It requires an awakening to actually see it & embrace this truth
This video is a certified banger! 5-star re-watch value. Mad gems.
This video was delightful, Lewis!
Wow i was totally captivated my this, well done, very talented on the delivery of the message.
Bros that one dark souls npc that isn’t depressed and unmotivated but is just a mentor for you and stays with you for the ride
Thanks Lew
Thanks, needed this!
thank you :)
You should do some videos/newsletters on the theories of Nietzsche, Kierkegaard and Camus, and how to apply them in your life. I find that philosophical concepts tend to resonate more than psychological concepts. Great video, you have definitely read Dostoevsky!
This video is incredible, keep up the good work!
Insecurity, and basically everything else in this video, are best handled by mindfulness practice. The less you are wrapped up in the ego, the less you have to deal with in this list. You can actually watch your mind being absolutely ridiculous and realize that you aren't that.
So happy RUclips suggested you to me. Thank you for this video and reminders. You are just what I needed. :-)
You always make me smile (and oftentimes laugh inside), the way you describe the kinds of life we people live. 😅
A lot of truth to your points - and something I've been guilty of. Good content.
"existential crios" i felt you there, wanted to say "chaos" and "crisis" at the same time, happened to me many times
Plzz write a book on all this stuff , its great how u collect so many sources with actually valid points
This was really good
And entertaining to watch
And your tone mixed with that microphone quality is very soothing and just nice to listen to
"If we understand that we're never going to be able to rid our lives completely of all its problems, you might as well work to improve the quality of the problems already present in your life." A lot of great points packed into this video. That one is a pure gem. Thank you Lewis in your neverending quest to bring understanding to us all. 1 million subs 2025!
Edit: The ending XD
After just 90 seconds I subscribed- thank you for being real.
You are a fucking gift. I adore what youre giving to the world.
Thank you for brightening my day. I think I needed to hear your words.
Also, I like your mustache.
