Those who are making negative comments are probably jealous they can't be like him. Being happy and positive thinking is the secret to staying healthy and feeling young.
True, it's his positive outlook on everything in life that makes it easy for him to blend to people and his surroundings, in this case the Philippines! Thank you for appreciating our country and people...Welcome to your new home !!!
His attitude is absolutely beautiful!!! This is an “I’m going to win no matter what!” Mentality and I love it!!!! This is so beautiful!!! Well done brother!!!
I was the opposite when I came. All the filipino people thought I was crazy. I kinda got dicouraged. It turns out I really loved loved it. I loved it so much I felt I had to hide how blessed I felt to be here. Happy to see a soulmate. Enjoy and and spread the word.
I have had the same experience. 10 years ago I ditched my professional life in Los Angeles, sold my house, cars, and reduced my life to two suitcases, then moved to the Philippines. Best move of my life. I went from working myself into an early grave, to living in a virtual fantasy.
I’m considering doing the exact same now. Was recently laid off and I’m considering early retirement in the Philippines. Maybe start a RUclips channel. Would love to pick your brain if you’re open to connect. Happy new year!🎉
Im happy for this guy. For people who always see the glass half full, life is great. It doesnt mean bad things dont happen. It just means he reacts with joy and gratitude for life. 👍🙏
@rhettrospect6722 I'm flying into Manila and I'm thinking of staying for a few days as I square away my SRRV and visit a few attractions and then move to Cebu as a base to move around the Philippines

great interview. I met my 29 year-old vietnamese girlfriend when I was 49. she was a true stunner. your explanation of the young ladies wanting stability was exactly my experience. after we agreed to marry, she won a beauty contest in Vietnam and became a minor celebrity there. however, she still wanted to marry me. unfortunately, she passed away during the pandemic. I'm 55 now and your interview gives me hope to try again with a good girl.
Ofc she wanted stability, she was 29. That is considered old in vietnam. Those actually young and hot 21 year olds don't care about stability. They want the young and hot guys.
Me too, no more migraines and chest pains. I was working 12 hours a day, 5 to 6 times a week, 2 hours drive daily, stress at work and on the road, it’s a pressure cooker.
WTH is the deal with all the negativity in this comment section. Seems like a cool guy living life to the fullest. Whatever happens, he'll land on his feet because he has a great attitude.
This is exactly what I want. May 2025 I will finally retire and I joined the Navy in 1990 with the hopes of being stationed in the Philippines but while I was in training the Navy base closed. So now here I am with the P. I. Still in my heart with the hopes of making there and live comfortably of my $ 5200$ USD a month after retirement. I am not coming there to chase women, I am coming there to chase a free living lifestyle
Even after taxes, that budget will be way more than enough for you to live safely, enjoy western amenities, have both public (assuming you go with the 50+ retirement visa) and supplemental private insurance to get proper healthcare. Best wishes to your future!
With $5200 USD a month you will live comfortably in the Philippines, renting or leasing a big condo or house with a garden, especially if you live in the countryside like Dumaguete or Bohol you will have a lot more extra to spend, you can also afford to get a car and pay it monthly and get the best private health insurance.
If you will stay here in the Philippines with a good healthcare insurance it is ok. Otherwise, healthcare here will eat up all your money. Unexpected hospitalization is soooo expensive if you go to tertiary hospitals like St. Luke’s or The Medical City where you will get the best health service.
I’ve vacationed 4 times in PI .. total cost $800 x 4 round trip ticket 10-11 night stay $525-$700 per stay x4 total food roughly 80 meals at $10 $800 so $7800, .. Hawaii would be $600 airfare $300 a night plus $50- $120 per meal for one trip $100 for excursions x 5… so 1 trip to Hawaii is like 3-4 trips to Phillipines .. I’ll never go back to Hawaii it’s a rip off and they call mainlanders mooly or howly and don’t want us there in their surf

Great video! This is a guy who has been there a year and who has a valid opinion. Glad to hear he's happy and doing well (especially on such a small budget). It's amazing how detrimental stress is to our mental and physical health. US is all about stress.
Maybe for the people from the USA, 2000 USD a month is considered a small budget, but for a lot of people from other countries, this is considered quite a lot. Just to give another perspective.
If you can maintain this level of enthusiasm and turn a blind eye to the realities of the country, then the Philippines is a dream come true. Yet somehow this guy reminds of Robbin Williams of Mork and Mindy.

Guys, the devils advocate here, what you never see by RUclipsrs are vlogs about the toxic Filipino family relationships. Been married to my Filipina for going on 20 years and retired here in the Philippines years ago. Forget the beautiful country, the friendly people, this is a swept under the rug issue. The family infighting, the back stabbing, the jealousy, the greediness, holy cow its a constant tornado of shit slinging. So be warned, find a beautiful Filipina orphan, without kids, to maintain your sanity and build from there. Having seen it and talked to many, many expats about this. When dating you’ll never see this but look and listen closely to see if it’s there, run if it is. There’s a whole unpleasant underbelly RUclips vloggers don’t want to show you.
Like any other country, you'll encounter a mix of personalities-some good, some less so. Spending more time in the Philippines will help you understand how things work and give you the experience needed to recognize the differences more easily
@@chardy7071 The divorce rate in the US is 50%+. The divorce rate for an American service member is 75%+ (perhaps due to the additional stress of military life). So we say, don't go to the PI because of an underbelly of issues you don't want to deal with. Well, if the PI has an underbelly of issues, then the US has an OVERbelly of issues. Heck, men and women in the US don't even like each other anymore (again probably to do with stress driven issues). Hard work doesn't kill you, being overweight doesn't kill you, stress kills you. And it kills relationships. And colors your whole world with negativity. In comparison, the PI is indeed a slice of heaven. Enjoy! PS: Financial pressure is a major component of stress, so lets nip that big swinger in the bud right away with a super lost cost of living. Oh Baby!
Thanks guys I'm definitely coming to the Philippines in early 2025 to resettal cost of living in Aus through the roof & I have nothing to keep me here after seperation & soon divorce!
Great interview Chad. Love his energy and vibe. One thing- I really appreciate hearing more from you about places and people in the PI where successful people in the U.S. are going and living rather than all the talk about living on 1,000 US a month and squeezing by in places like dramaguete. A single guy approaching retirement who’s worked hard and secured financial success- where are the places to live, meet people and see? Thx
I agree just have your head on straight.Don't flaunt your money send money unseen, sit in bars, think you can live in the province.Be like this guy positive, organized a healthy life style an a bonus you can sing.Goodluck 🇨🇦
This guy is actually living the life, many western guys just hope for, wish for, and dream of. Props for dude, for taking the leap of faith on finding out what could happen. If you only took a little risk in your life sometimes. 👍🏼🤙🏼

He's totally comfortable being single. His attitude toward life allows him to relax and enjoy it. He hasn't tied himself to a woman to drag him down... He stuck to his plan to enjoy his life even if it's alone.
I’m on my first scouting trip, my Filipina gf lives in a condo here in Makati and thus far I’m really diggin’ it here! Halfway through my trip, will be here till the 9th 👍
I prefer a comfortable, drama-free (!) single life, regularly travelling the world: SE Asia, New Zealand, Europe, Canada - depending on the local seasons
The cheapest offer they did to me was 3 months for 300 buck and the "best value" deal was 11 months for 800 bucks. I just told them: "No thank, you are at least 3 times more expensive than you should be."
The clue is in the name. It is most likely, but not exclusively, that most of the girls that are signed up want a traditional relationship based on Christian values. Remember, the Philippines is predominately a Catholic country.
Philippines if you know how to get along with people, you are in the right place on earth. If you want happiness and just be happy then it’s in the Philippines is for you.
He makes a great point about the patience of Filipinos, and how they rarely complain about waiting, especially in queues, which is in stark contrast to the States. It's noticing things like that, that make this guy a winner at the expat game.
Thanks for your channel, this is the reason I'm going back home being single and retired can't afford to live in US planning to be back in February hoping my container home project will be done then so I don't have to rent! And I'll start my exploration in the beach like 2023 I was there in boracay so beautiful stay there in 20 days in the beach I feel so happy over there . Good interview Sir I'm glad this man found his happiness 😊
Great attitude. How much of that is simply a guy realising and enjoying his freedom, as in being retired and enjoying the economics of a developing country, plus what some would call the honeymoon phase of being in a new country-a new lifestyle Not saying any of those are bad thangs. He is one happy man! Life in the Philippines is what you make it 🏝🌞😎✌🏻
A great review of what life can be like in Phils with a positive attitude. In my case, I connected with a Dentist over 15 years ago and she does not need my money. In fact she is proud not to be dependent on me. She could also book days off if we wanted to travel. Because of my business interests and frequent travels abroad she i.migrated to America, but we still go to Phils often.
The guy you interviewed is right on. I was over there in January to February and it’s a weird feeling when you don’t have any stress. I was with my girlfriend that I met in the US. We went to see her family even in the malls. I was being checked out 59 years old and girls will just come up to me and look at me the whole time…. but the stress-free thing is the best feeling you can ever have. I’ll be moving over there soon in the next year or so.
The ONLY issue i have with this guy... is he had Corvettes.. personally... I had Vipers.. 🤓😎😂 ALL IN FUN!!! Great attitude, life is what you make it..!! Well done... If he can get dad to visit, that would be a great interview...!!! Best wishes, great way to wrap up this year Chad...
Yes I'm in agreement....I'm here in last 15 months I'm a changed man....I'm a carnivore man in 8 months feel wonderful....having fun...Best Regards all.Smitty, old sarge Metro Cebu..
I love his fair assessments about the Philippines, its culture, norms, and about Filipino women in relation to his expectations vs his past experiences in the US.
Here on vacation a yesr sgo tomorrow met the most amazing woman Sold everything and moved to Palawan i could write a book on all the challanges but happy i stayed immigration issues are my biggest expence
Wow, look at Skippy in his first year…😵💫😍… Higher up in a condo away from the noise and no brownouts … Elevator down to all the little shops and restaurants strolling through the mall …
If you want to have healthy mental/emotional/physical health, stay in the Philippines. There’s barely any complaints and altercations among the crowd/people waiting in line- most people especially in the province/country side are calm and not boastful. Food is less processed, except the several fast foods in the Philippines or the ones in the malls. So happy for this man to live a wonderful life that he enjoys.
I am happily married in the Philippines. My main criteria was to find a Filipina who was not working. I pay all the bills and give her a monthly allowance. Works perfect.
Chad, I am glad that you had Britt on your channel. The truth bombs are painful reminders of what a smoldering heap of trash America has become, from what outsiders may perceive it to be. Kudos Britt, God bless and enjoy your life in the Philippines.
@BrittMcalister Liked your approach to life Britt. I've been to Phils many times over past 30 years and 15 years ago my Cebu Dentist immigrated to America to be with me. I speak at a lot of conventions in Asia and coordinate humanitarian aid projects in Phils so have spent lots of time in Cebu region. Best wishes for continued success and happiness there.
Thanks for the video. That was a really informative video and the gentleman seems very honest and forthcoming with his experiences. Your questions were "those questions" that a lot of us are interested in. Great video. Thanks to you both.
My buddy wants to move there but had a strongarm robbery conviction 30 years ago. I looked into it but he is going anyway. He has about 2k a month to live on though.

Men, who cares if the women wants to be with you because you have money? As long both parties get what they want, 🤷♂️
Right?! They don’t get upset that men just want young and juicy!!
Thx
Everyone has an opinion I'm glad hes Happy like me.
You did a good interview there, Chad. And cheers to that happy guy.
One year is not enough to judge a place as it could feel like you're on long vacation. Lets see how he feels 2 years from now!
Yep
Thinking another year in a beautiful stress free place with friends......ya how shitty!!
That's true of Anywhere USA as well.
Perception is reality. For some beaches and heat are torture for others it’s paradise!
I agree just have your head on straight.Don't flaunt your money send money unseen, sit in bars, think you can live in the province.Be like this guy positive, organized a healthy life style an a bonus you can sing.Goodluck 🇨🇦
THANKS FOR REAL AND AUTHENTIC INTERVIEW.
This guy is actually living the life, many western guys just hope for, wish for, and dream of.
Props for dude, for taking the leap of faith on finding out what could happen.
If you only took a little risk in your life sometimes. 👍🏼🤙🏼
Agree!
You're exactly right. Thanks.
My bet is that his close friends there are all other Americans??
DO NOT sell your house back home guys! Remember, "The Paradise Syndrome" wears off and 70% of guys return home within 5 years.
100% agree with statement 3 years in and about 75% of expats i met have now gone back home. This country can drain you mentally and physically fast if your not careful.
Paying for the upkeep and maintenance (and mortgage if financed) of a house in the USA is not justifiable, even if someone goes back in 5 years.
Sell your house and put it in the S&P 500. You'll make more money that way even if you do go back.
@@DoctaVok thanks I’ll do that
@@DoctaV 😂 anyone who has and knows about money (and that includes me) would never put their money in the SP500…. Gold, Real Estate and Bitcoin are your best bets over the long term…. The stock market has had its day…..
Good to lighten the load and see the world. Love the content, Chad.
Totally agree 😎 and thank you 🙏
He's totally comfortable being single. His attitude toward life allows him to relax and enjoy it. He hasn't tied himself to a woman to drag him down... He stuck to his plan to enjoy his life even if it's alone.
Thanks.
Gotta admit I don’t know why people in the comments section disparage this guy. He appears happy and content with his decision, more power to him!
It is his positive attitude that makes him happy where he is now.
The guy is so positive wherever you go if you look at the nice part most of the time you will be happy, mindset
I’m glad to hear it’s even better 😊 I was expecting to hear how much he regretted moving to the PH and missed the “independent” American women 😂
This man spoke truth!
Hope you have insurance in case you get sick
I’m on my first scouting trip, my Filipina gf lives in a condo here in Makati and thus far I’m really diggin’ it here! Halfway through my trip, will be here till the 9th 👍
this is such a good interview to hear. having lived here all my life , I forget the reasons why I couldn't go elsewhere.
Chad remember Pilipino people are born happy go lucky
Stop pushing Christian Filipina it’s not any better than any other dating site. If it was so good why are you still single? It’s way overpriced
I prefer a comfortable, drama-free (!) single life, regularly travelling the world: SE Asia, New Zealand, Europe, Canada - depending on the local seasons
They get a commission.
@@NigelHyphenJones Is it part of Catholicism that men are required to pay to talk to women?
This was extremely informative. He asks all the right questions we want to know. Sounds dreamy
Great positive attitude, all others should just pack up and leave.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Great attitude. How much of that is simply a guy realising and enjoying his freedom, as in being retired and enjoying the economics of a developing country, plus what some would call the honeymoon phase of being in a new country-a new lifestyle Not saying any of those are bad thangs. He is one happy man! Life in the Philippines is what you make it 🏝🌞😎✌🏻
@jcgolf159 It's amazing life here. I would highly recommend it to anyone on the fence.
That was a great video...He was very upbeat and happy...I will be retiring over there in a few years or sooner...
Good decision brother…stretch the budget but be careful with your wealth.
Got to love it here.
Noise!,I can hear the waves lapping on that beach and someone asking if you want fresh scallops. 😅😅😅😅😅
The ONLY issue i have with this guy... is he had Corvettes..
personally...
I had Vipers..
🤓😎😂
ALL IN FUN!!!
Great attitude, life is what you make it..!! Well done...
If he can get dad to visit, that would be a great interview...!!!
Best wishes, great way to wrap up this year Chad...
Thank you. I turned into a Jeep Sahara Guy.
this was a good interview, britt has a great outlook and the info was good
Thank you so much.
Thanks.
Yes I'm in agreement....I'm here in last 15 months I'm a changed man....I'm a carnivore man in 8 months feel wonderful....having fun...Best Regards all.Smitty, old sarge Metro Cebu..
Love it and live it!!!
Wow, look at Skippy in his first year…😵💫😍…
Higher up in a condo away from the noise and no brownouts …
Elevator down to all the little shops and restaurants strolling through the mall …
Great interview!! I really enjoyed listening to his views on his adventures!! Now I’m looking at moving to Cebu City!!
That sand in that beach is so pure white and seems clean bro!
Because the traktor cleaned it with the device pulling through the sand. Most likely this is a hotel beach.
Excellent interview 👏 I told my husband to move there not to wait longer .God bless you Mr brit hope you found your soul mate .
Thank you so much.
Great interview! Thank you for the honesty and your insights..Enjoy your new life in the Philippines
Thank you so much.
Best wishes for continued success and happiness there.
how do you deal with your money, do you leave it in America and just get a wire once a month or ? what is best way to keep safe?
Thanks for the video. That was a really informative video and the gentleman seems very honest and forthcoming with his experiences. Your questions were "those questions" that a lot of us are interested in. Great video. Thanks to you both.
Thanks for the positive vibes Chad.... Happy New Year Brother. Peace and Love, B Goat
Nice interview. Good questions. Happy for this guy.. he’s got a great attitude.
Thank you.
This guy found his people. Good for him.
Thanks, sir chad for documenting their life in PH.
Great video Chad. To live free and happy is a wonderful life
This will be where I move someday soon! I’ve been dreaming about visiting the Philippines for years!
My buddy wants to move there but had a strongarm robbery conviction 30 years ago. I looked into it but he is going anyway. He has about 2k a month to live on though.
Great interview Chad! Britt answered your in depth questions clearly and completely. We really appreciate your interview choices--so much more lively and interesting than the "Woe is me" topics of the other Duma vloggers!
This southern dude is totally 💯 % awesome with a top attitude.
Good luck to him with blessings and a fantastic life 🙏✊👊
Thank you so much.
Correct. Nice ladies are mostly looking for love, stability, and fidelity that most local men aren't.
