Mike your talking like your the only man getting old. Mike I am 83 from usa but now live in Costa Rica 23 years. Mike at 72 I met a beautiful girl 24 .she was with me 10 years and never had argument I loved her . Mike I made plans for her if I die. Then at 33 years old she lay down on the floor and died from brain tumor.she never knew she had never sick . Now I am alone and the hurt never stops. Mike my advice keep doing everything the same and be happy because only God knows the future ok . Good luck 👍 sincerely Rocky
Sorry for your loss Rocky. Try to be happy in her memory as she would not have wanted you to be miserable; especially if she gave you 10 years of her best years with such an age gap. She truly cared for you if she stayed that long.
I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what that was like. To be fair to Mike, he was not at ALL acting like he is the only one getting old. He even said that he and his friends are all talking about it.
Mike I'm 80 hears old. Yes it's true that after we retire the illness starts to come out because it comes wth our age but don't let it bother you, try to think that a lot of people died young & you are so lucky to be still around at 70.
I’ve been here since 2022. I, like you, never married and have no kids (to my knowledge). Going to the gym M-F is my hobby. It’s something I really enjoy. Lifting weights is a huge stress reliever, also eating right and taking care of yourself will help you forget your age.
@@jonpritz9838 Guess, average maximumum life time now is between 93 to 95 in present senior generation that really takes themselves well. Possibly up to 100. An impressive improvement compared during western cowboys and Indian.
Your absolutely right Marvin I’m 65 been bodybuilding since 18 always eating good and working out. No smoke drink or drugs and I feel like I’m in my 40s. A lot of these expats don’t take care of themselves drink and have no purpose in their life and they wonder why they feel like shit. Go figure
I’m 77 . Got here 4 years ago . We got 1.2 hectares on a mountain so I get lots of exercise .we’re always on the go. Built a big house. Had about 25 family members here for Christmas. Went to Bangkok last year. Going to start seeing more of the Philippines now that we’re done with the house.
Do you have a RUclips channel and do you have videos about building your house? What province did you build your house in? I am thinking about doing the same thing in the mountains..Thanks 👍🙏😊
@user-rn6hm6kl4j I think it is a great thing for him to share his money with somebody less fortunate before he dies.. the Pharaohs of Egypt proved that you cannot bring it with you..😁🍺🍻🤠😎
Mike, you could go tomorrow, or you could live 20+ more years. Each day is a blessing. I think you are a pretty lucky guy to be surrounded by a loving wife, family, and good friends.
I workout around USA..I see guys in gym at 60, 70,80 with ripped six pack abs, muscles, ,looking like 30 yrs Old. They don't complain about nightmares or getting older
Mike my brother, I am watching your vid as I am messaging you. This is Mark in Florida. I am married to a Filipina and we have been planning to move to the Philippines. I am 68 and won't be moving for a few years. I am so in touch with what your talking about. Please don't let those thoughts take you out of your game, you are a good guy, you bring joy to us who watch your vids. Eat right, exercise and stay positive. Get some things done to release the pressures your experiencing. I look forward to my wife and I meeting you and Janet. Thanks for all you do. God bless.
@@bhinbayoucity5691Thanks Things are so much better now. I have a filipina who speaks fluent English and has her own successful RUclips channel, in fact she even travels. She recently visited the USA 🇺🇸 and Australia 😂 🇦🇺. 😊
Hey Mike. Wow. That was quite the outpouring of authenticity and I certainly feel for you and I certainly can relate to many of the things you were talking about… Especially the age issue. But I know you would call me a young buck at 64, right? I would agree it’s super important to get your will and end of life paperwork done. It’s really important. I totally support your notion to stay healthy and it does sound like walking for you has many many benefits, including physical. I shall be cheering you on!
Life is what it is, when you least expect it, expect it. Health becomes the most important issue as we age. We are born, we live, we die. 5 or 10 years from now no one will remember and, in some ways, that's a good thing. Sun comes up every morning whether we do or not.
My Dad is 93 , 94 in March. He is also in an assisted living facility, he just bought a brand new Cadillac and is following the stock market, he loves sports and still tells me about a sexy woman he saw in the mall. Don't feel so old Mike you're still Young enough to be active. I think 80 is the magic number. But my Dad raises the bar. Stay strong Mike
Your Dad is my kind of guy. I am a 77-year-old Canadian living in the Philippines. I have a stunning 48-year-old Filipina wife, and I can guarantee that a young wife can do wonders for you. Tell your dad to keep looking at those sexy women every chance. he gets and to enjoy his new Caddy.
You are blessed to get old. Many don't make it Enjoy this season, and don't eat processed food; water fast, work out daily. Stay away from sugars the best you can. As Christian and Buddhist accept the journey , take each challenge as an opportunity to grow, embrace peace. Acceptance is important. I learned that from a 90 yr old Buddhist monk. Apostle Paul said the battle is in the mind. It's all about perspective. You choose how you handle this gift , I'll say it again GIFT of life brother❤
Hey Teamster Brother Mike. I’m turning 65 next week. I do go to the gym 4 days a week and walk twice a day with my dog. I too see many friends last three years pass away. This part of life is sad to me. I’m still active but have so many aches and pains from my old UPS and Fed Ex careers. I live in Florida now(Gods Waiting room). I have plenty of money as I invested well and two pensions besides Social Security. I’d love to find a woman like Jan my brother has a pinay and been married for 8 years. She is a gem. They live in Arizona. Someday I want to go. After my obligations here. Your fortunate Jan can look after you. I’m alone. Never had kids. Thanks for your videos. Happy New Years! To you and Jan!
Just do it. Buy the ticket and go for a visit. You might not like it at all and choose another path or it’s 💯 your jam and will push you to go. 65 is too old to keep procrastinating as you maybe missing out on wonderful experiences.
There's nothing we can do about getting old so no point worrying much, but there is a lot we can do about living healthy. We all know how to do it because of the voice in the back of our head: don't smoke, don't drink, no sugar, and daily excercise. It's never too late to start with that. I've made it a rule to run a marathon every two years on a holiday location in order to keep me motivated. I'm currently 57 and I will keep it up as long as possible.
That's great about your diet, and at 57 may be okay. Just as a heads up, though, some recent research suggests too much exercise can actually be counterproductive as the years progress. I'm sure more will be known in 10 years or less. Resistance training and moderate aerobics does the trick for me at 68. I prefer swimming and walking to running, since my joints wont take it. Cutting out sugar and most refined carbs is a must. Keep up the good work!
@@wr1120 not easy living here, at times you will get depressed due to a number of reasons. Firstly, compatibility with the locals, compatibility with the food, compatibility with the customs and the constant annoyances. It's always a battle here, you need to control your mind and stay active and have a routine.
I get it Mike - I'm 71 now and have visited Mark and Paul @ Ground Zero 2 years ago today . Now I don't feel like flying 15 hours to Cebu and am content to stay home in Snowy Alberta where I have a good ( Filipino ) wife , home , family . I feel your pain , I'm where you are today . The recipe is to stay strong and stay away from people that piss me off - I'm a believer in Solitude now , lol 😶Happy New Years to You and Janet , All the Best in 2025 ( ps ) I like how you tell it like it is , Thanks for that .
Dealing with Filipino bureaucracy you can solve by not caring how long it takes. Having learned one thing about PI, is that money always talks. With that in mind, letting your wife take care of these mundane things is the right way to go. Your mission is to provide that financial stability, know your young wife as often as you can, and enjoy the life you have made for yourself in a foreign country. As long as your teenage stepson does not turn to drugs, crime or starts wearing dresses, he'll be fine. Teach him about money and how to avoid bad women and you're done.
Mike, at the end, you laid out the ways you can handle your situation. You are absolutely right with your stepson, let him be himself and let his mom and uncles take the greater responsibility. He will be alright.
Everyday this side of the dirt is a good day. No one gets out alive. If you have family or loved ones, having your affairs in order is one of the most important and responsible thing you can do for them upon your passing. leaving a mess for them after your passing is selfish and irresponsible. Don't sweat the small stuff. Take care of yourself and stay healthy for as long as you can. your healthspan is more valuable than lifespan. Passing quickly, when it happens, is a gift. Hopefully it happens doing something you love.
Age 69..my full time job is taking control of my health fitness ..and diet ...and mitigating all potential stress situations ..and of course having the love and care of a good filipina...will add yrs to our life i believe ....basically, living a simple and clean life ..
I am 75. I just made the 2 suitcase move over here 2 weeks ago, after 2 trips here earlier this year. Your not old, just older. Stay active and hopefully we both will see the Browns win the Super Bowl.
That's about as likely as Deshaun Watson giving up his "happy ending" massages. Giving up on Baker Mayfield was the Brown's big mistake. Meanwhile, AceBachelorCool is celebtrating, because his Detroit Lions are kicking ass, and contenders to win the Super Bowl.
Don't let procrastination be the arbiter of your health Mike !! The science says genetics is only a 40% determiner of health/lifespan. The other 60% is from regular & consistent exercise, diet, attitude & proper/adequate sleep .....AND IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO SEE/FEEL IMPROVEMENT !!
I did the whole stepdad thing with my Filipino stepson, but I was in my 20's/30's. Honestly, I couldn't imagine doing it with a Filipino teenager in my 60's/70's. That's way too much stress for me in my retirement. The Filipino culture is NOT one that stresses personal responsibility. Kids grow up much more slowly in the Philippines and Filipino mothers tend to treat them like babies way too long. Chances are, if you attempt rein in his typical teenage behavior, you'll just get the standard "yes, yes", smile and nod routine, and then your wife and stepson will just do whatever they want to do behind your back. I'm not suggesting you shouldn't play hardball with him to help keep him check, but I think you'll be forced to accept the reality that your influence as an American stepdad is minimal at best. You do however enjoy the power of the purse strings, and shouldn't be shy of reminding him that there WILL be consequences for him failing to keep his nose to the grindstone. If Janet is a typical Filipino mother, she'll likely bail him out of whatever trouble he gets himself into and he'll learn nothing. Frustrating!
keep pressing on Mike, you look great for 70, I admire you traveling there at that age-I am 65 still active-in Florida the heat wears me out , so I am heading back to cooler climate, its so inexpensive there, to live well on 2200 bucks, just not paying my property taxes ,hoa fees and homeowners insurance ,just those 3 things would save me 4000 a month, keep kicking and enjoy
I’ve been in LDR since 2018. I’m 72 and my partner is 37 with 3 kids. 8 - 16 yo. One thing i know is that interacting with kids keeps your mind younger. We have a house and a business that will give my partner security when i am gone. Yes, our bodies get old and we get physically more tired but keep some exercise going, eat sensibly and enjoy what u now have. Health is our biggest concern so have a plan. Try a new project Mike and don’t sink into apathy and shake off the stress. I wish you many more years of livin’ and lovin’ life. 🌻
This one is a good one from the New Testament. Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
My younger brother married a Filipino 22 years ago. They have spent that time working their socks off in the UK. They have visited the Philippines (Mindanao) many times, investing in property and land for their retirement. Within the past 6 months my brother has had two heart attacks. He is 56. He has now been medically retired from his job as a London bus driver. He is adamant he will return to the Philippines from the UK early next year for good. I worry as where his property is located in Mindanao local hospitals are not that good. In my opinion, he will be lucky to hit 60 let alone 70.
I am a nurse originally from Mindanao, now in NHS. I worked with many really good doctors there. Do your research . Adventist hospitals are usually good in the Philippines. Also the Doctors Hospital usually named after each city . But good hospitals are not free .
Stop overthinking as this is taking over your life. Don’t focus on what’s going to happen in the future, focus on what you need to do at this moment that will very possibly help you in the future.
I am 78 and have had cancer for the last 8 years thankfully I can take a pill every day and stay alive. I do not think about dying at all, just try to enjoy life as much as possible and riding my motorcycle when I can. Being able to get up in the morning , dress myself and eat is a good enough no stress situation. Moving to another country means differences one has to accept and adjust to, no use complaining. I think this guy needs to realaxe quite a bit and enjoy life as is.
Thank you for sharing your nightmare. I'm still enjoying my life here in the good old USA. All my friends and relatives are here. Why should I leave? This is paradise for me. My home is paid for, I have a wife and grown children and a few grandchildren. I can go to watch Dodger games in person. Live concerts of popular musicians, Las Vegas, and still travel around like Thailand, Japan, China. I've never been to Europe and don't care to. I have no complaints or regrets. Thank God.
I'm 70, born in October 1954. Stress is nothing but a war in your head. Win the war! Don't let things get to you. Never tell yourself you are getting old; you'll just get older faster. Nobody believes me when I tell them I'm 70; they say I look more like I'm in my 50s. I don't drink or smoke. I take lots of supplements, and I never worry. I also have a girlfriend in Cebu who is much younger than me. I'm still working in California, but I'll retire in June, pack my bags, and move to Cebu City. Make a video next time telling people you feel young and alive instead of making these types of videos. Live your life one day at a time. Hope to meet you someday.
10:32 I know how you feel Mike. I've just turned 75 and I can really feel the difference since I turned 70. Feel like I'm walking on very thin ice since then. Hope it stays good for you. I've travelled a bit since 65 y/o, and have visited Malaysia, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. In Kaula Lumpur now, and will hit the Philippines for the first time on January 7th, when I arrive in Cebu. Not out for much else but the cheaper cost of living, which is good for someone on a Pension. Love the tropical weather, and the food has been great wherever I've been. Making life enjoyable, but that ice seems very thin at times Do it well Mike.
We saved & invested on our financial portfolio while in our 20's so we can retire in the US. We are now 12 years retired & never have to worry about money. It's really hard to be living in undeveloped country like Philippines specially if you're in the province. Doctors lack advanced medical knowledge & hospitals are ill equipped. Ambulances lack life saving devices. Most of them only have a bed & an oxygen. So, having a stroke or heart attacked, your chances of dying or being vegetable increases. You also have to pay all your medical bills out of your own pocket. Major surgery cost over a million Pesos. That's the reason we retired in the US cuz as you aged, you'll have multiple medical issues. We only pay $30 to see a doctor or specialists, blood work & imaging like MRI, X-Ray & CAT Scan are free. If hospitalized, our copay is $250.
So true. We take a lot of granted in the US. Especially health care. To think they don't even treat you until you pay first in the Pi and most developing countries. A British lad found out the hard way after a motorcycle accident all alone at night. They placed him in the mortuary. When he woke up with a massive headache they still wouldn't give him anything until they had confirmation of a payment. Horrible!
We're all a little bit spooked with Mark's sudden passing last week. Thanks for the admonition to prepare in advance. That in itself will reduce stress and lighten the load. You earned a new sub!
I moved to the Philippines 18 months ago. I went to see a friend who is only 44 married to an older Australian man aged 74. She had a stroke and when me and my filipine partner visited her I was so shocked. Public hospital my god what a state. It has had an impact on me. Our friend due to lack of post care will not recover. I said to myself as I’m 64 what happens to me if something happens. Private care fine for a while until the money is gone. It’s impacted me greatly mentally. Back in UK at the moment
That's the problem in any undeveloped country. Healthcare is a nightmare. Can't find health insurance to insure you. A few does but it cost between $400 to $600 a month with limited coverage. Then advanced medical knowledge is lacking & most hospitals all ill equipped unless you're in a big city & have a lot of money.
You need to be prepared especially with most RUclipsrs not expressing this enough. Living in the province is wonderful but if you have any significant medical issues you need to have a plan. As we age our medical issues will increase naturally which is something people don’t really want to talk about. You don’t want to obsess about it but you should be prepared.
@@markc7274 definitely is the case with me. Couple of things now creeping up on me now. Pretty fit and active from a sport swimming background. We get older and things happen. Thankyou for your reply. Really appreciate it
I live in the UK and like every country in the world it has its issues but the NHS is wonderful. You can be penniless, collapse in the street and if a triple heart bypass is the answer you will get one carried out by top surgeons without any concern for cost.
I was glad to hear the realization towards the end of the clip that especially as you age, staying healthy should be Priority #1. At 67, I make it a point to work out strenuously for least a half-hour daily - and that doesn't mean just going for a brisk walk. It's hiking and biking challenging uphill climbs, rowing machine, swimming laps, strength workouts doing pull-ups, pushups and dips, etc. I decided to give up competitive sports because of loss of athleticism and the injury risks involved, but find I don't miss them that much. And along with that commitment should be an equally strong one to eating healthy and getting enough sleep. At this rate, I feel I'll be able to maintain my current fitness level at least another ten years. My main concession to aging has been not going out nearly as much now, but since that usually involves drinking and missing out on sleep, it's something I'm willing to sacrifice in favor of staying healthy.
Just started watching your channel a little while back and like your content. You come across as a reasonable, authentic person. You've thought about things a great deal. As I get older, I ponder many of the same type of things. I've myself find, especially when thinking of end of life things that my faith is what I lean on and carried me through. I believe in Jesus Christ and without that part of my life guiding me, I'd be far less equipped to deal with the tough issues of aging that we all face. Your wife and son are lucky to have you. I wish you the very best.👍
Retired at 60 here in Brazil ! Now almost 69 and totally enjoy the beaches and the beer ! Be thankful you do not live in a war zone getting old with no house , no money , no family ! Israel and the Ukraine must be tough going !
At 65, I’m having serious reservations about returning to the Philippines to retire. I live a block and a half from a major university hospital. My chance of surviving or heart attack or a stroke is much better here. I suspect that there is a major difference between visiting and falling in love with a Filipina and actually growing old there. I hear what you are saying for sure.
I am so glad we are connected through your channel; it’s so honest and inspiring. I may not be as old as you, but I’m close-I’m 63 years old. I also have a deep passion for educating children. While they are not my biological children, I love them as if they are.
LIFE EXPECTANCY for the average Filipino man is 67, you are already outliving most Filipino men. USA life expectancy for men is 79.5 , living in the Philippines WILL shorten your life. Stay in the USA, live longer.
Got a source on your final sentence? Filipino men don't live to 67 just because they live in the Philippines, it's lifestyle and all kinds of factors. It doesn't mean their life expectancy is gonna become your life expectancy if you move there.
Stress is a killer. Some facts that you now realize, teenage children are very difficult to deal with in your 50s. In your 70s….that is a heart attack waiting to happen. The children are learning but they can be incredibly challenging, especially as a stepfather and foreigner. Good news is that period will end, but maturity of teens can take years. In the meantime don’t sweat the small stuff.
Wow your blowing my mind I'm 60 but female excepted my mortality long ago unsuccessful by so many's standards but each day I still work hard, each day I make it ..BOOM I am doubly blessed and so too will be anyone who gets my excess hard ass won penitence. It is filled with love and sacrifice though small to many. I certainly am so very grateful for any source of hope I have received. You are lucky to be loved in paradise just sew up the loose ends know you will someday go be grateful and enjoy. And thanks for popping in such interesting company for a fleeting moment.😊
Very well said and delivered. I admire the fact that you spoke from the heart. This is never really easy. I wish you the best of luck and will take your advice.
Hey, Mike. I’m the younger wife of an older husband of a young 83. Hearing your heartfelt concerns as an aging gentleman, helps me view life from his perspective. Your insight and caring sharing is very well accepted by your current and future fans. I’m a big one. ❤️❤️❤️
Mike, I get exactly what you are saying. "This is a story of truth and reflecting" - Well said. But you need to act on the things you think about. In the end, we are our own worst enemies as we let paralysis through analysis affect us and before you know it, you've been sitting there for hours without moving or taking action. Think the best but plan for the worst. Here's a mindset piece of advice: Don't regret the things you've done, regret the things you didn't do! Now get up off your seat and get moving. Go left, go right, but get going! Before you know it, you're going places and taking care of things that need to get done! I wish you the best life Mike!
Mike, you are still healthy, get out and do hikes, don't stop chasing dreams, we all get old, but put your mind over matter. Thanks for the content, you are well articulated, a very informative channel. Start living again....
No proper stroke care in Duma, or Heart doctors/equipment…. While the Philippines can extend your life in some ways, it can also decrease your life expectancy due to lack of proper medical care
Thanks for posting this. I am 64 and turn 65 on 1/16/2025 and not looking forward to it. For now, I am choosing to work full time because it keeps me busy but more importantly, I am grateful to not only have a job, but I really like what I'm doing and that is a big difference. This info is a great public service as far as info goes. I have the same anxieties and worry about the future because the world and national news doesn't offer anything good and that bothers me. I always used to think that things will eventually or inevitably get better but it doesn't look that way now and that is depressing.
First, thank you for all your time and effort with your videos. They are one of the highlights of my day/week. Secondly, I am 49 and my Filipina wife is 45, living in NC. We plan to retire to the Philippines within the next 5 years. Your advice and insight is great. I appreciate you!
... The Nightmare of Getting Old: My Struggles, and the Truth About Aging ... Keep yourself busy all the time, it helps. BTW. Having a younger woman helps, too ;-)
Mike, you will persevere, take your time and put everything you can think of into getting Janet ready to cope with all the things you are doing now. Let her handle things slowly over the next year and take the training wheels off. Let her make mistakes so you can still help to get her confidence up. I still need to plan my next chapter but have a great start with a trust in place and will etc. Take it easy my friend and soon that Filipina will be taking care of you as well as you have taken care of her. Happy, healthy, New year to you, Janet and PJ!❤
Mike this is the most honest and meaningful video I've watched in a very long time. Thank you for sharing from your heart. Wishing you many more happy and healthy years my friend
I’m about to hit 60 and these things have all occurred to me as I age. Our comfort zone, the area where we reside and things are most comfortable is not a static thing. It’s either growing or shrinking based on our thoughts and behaviors. I’ve learned to try to push through the things that make me uncomfortable or unhappy because I don’t want the world to close in around me. It sounds like you have managed to do the same ❤
I had an old girlfriend here in Canada … she met a new fellow and one cold night , they died of Carbine monoxide…. She was 17 !!!! I’m now 77 and I’m grateful for living so much longer than her
I've learned to talk bold facts with men to wake them up from their egos & laziness. Research on the internet/youtube and heed sound advice. Start Now. Drastically limit sugar, bread, rice, pasta, beer, preservatives. Have a Carb budget (50 - 80 carbs/day). You have to work and put money & time into your body. I had uncles & aunts that were very active and healthy. The sedentary ones were half crippled & suffering. Start with water aerobics, running in water, walking, golf, etc. to strengthen joints and move up from there. Life is not downhill at 70. Get busy. Get active. Get Healthy! God Bless you.
Hey Mike, getting older is a privilege not all of us get to do. You can go down your rabbit hole or you can live like there's no tomorrow..... there might not be. I'm 73 and loving life!!!!!
All you can do is prepare in advance. Thinking about it is more stressful than actually doing it. After planning is done, just keep going until your ticket is called. There's nothing we can do about the inevitable end we face. Handle the business matters now. The last thing you want is a sudden medical emergency that has you down for the count while family members are at odds over medical decisions, delaying your care in the process, and final disposition of your remains, etc.
I recently asked my best friend what he wanted to do to celebrate his 80th birthday and he said I want to go to Budapest… so a bunch of guys jumped on a plane and flew 10+ hours to Hungary from NJ. Just keep moving and doing Mike… fight the ‘no’ that may come to mind at first blush… amazing adventures await! See you when I get to your area… coffee is on me.
I understand at 79 and riddled with arthritis. Ten plus years in pain and the loss of so many friends. Inflation is a headache that eats me daily. Life is a battle.
Mike, I'm 63, Started my ss in September my 63rd BD. A month later I had a small stroke. I can walk and work out. Busting my ass to get as well as I can. My girl is in GenSan gives me a good reason to work harder. I'm in the process of putting everything I've worked for into my kids name. I'll just get some of the rent $. Sure not what I planned, but Staying Greatful for this new chapter in life.
68 now....retired in Prescott, AZ. I promise that the stresses you have will not be in this room. It's all about attitudes in life....the universe is out there and I know how to talk to it. Lucky I guess.
Mike, your channel is by far one of the best I've found on RUclips, with life advice and perspective that I very much appreciate. Take care, Sir, and have a great weekend.
For all you senior old dudes out there, the best thing is to ignore your emotions and continue to live like NIKE - just do it! Continue to do something hard everyday - daily exercise does wonders. I also recommend checking out your hormones - TRT like RFK! Does wonders, for you and your Filipina! But only if done right under a physicians care. i've always said that HEALTH, comes before wealth. Tara na!
Mike you are just talking about reality catching up with you. Life is a long or short journey. These videos that you make just give men ideas about whether the Philippine's could be a retirement option. You have saved me making the trip over. I have a paid for house and a list of medical services to take care of me. I am not seduced by the call of a young women that is in her 20's. I have gone that route and its just a fond memory. I will take what I have and enjoy it until my time on earth is up.
For those guys thinking of retirement here, just remember one thing, having kids will introduce more stress than you can imagine. You had your kids back home, now it's time to enjoy yourself not re introduce burdens. Its nott easy living here, at times you will get depressed due to a number of reasons. Firstly, compatibility with the locals, compatibility with the food, compatibility with the customs and the constant annoyances. It's always a battle here, you need to control your mind and stay active and have a routine.
Your so right Rocky! Only God knows! Sorry about your loss😢. I'm 71 and met a beautiful 26 year old who wants to be with me! I'm struggling with it because of our age difference! Reading your message to Mike and your loss tells me something? Don't cheat yourself out of the chance to have someone! If I let the opportunity go, I will never know... Take Care Rocky You Too Mike!
Don't procrastinate Mike just get it done You're not a spring chicken everybody listens to your advice take it sometimes take care of those things so that you're stress will be gone stress is what causes strokes and heart attacks be careful Mike with love your friend Culley
Getting old is better than the alternative. Take care of what you can. Get affairs in order. However it does no one any good to stress over things you have no control over. We were each given a life and in the end we owe a life. That’s just the way it is. To me it’s about working towards being able to seeing my life as a spectator run and without regret. 👍
I think this is a very honest discussion between you and the inside of yourself. I disagree with one point. I ENJOY your videos, I actually SLEEP while I’m running these videos
Getting old and getting grey hair is a God-given privilege! Sounds like you have a wonderful life there! Enjoy it while you can! It is crappy here in the US!
Think about how you are going to feel when you are 90! 70 will seem like you were a baby!! And eating well can be a fun journey, new recipes, new ingredients, new routines!
Mike, don't regret and worry about getting older ... it's a privilege denied to many.
you're right
Amen Brother!
That’s a good one.
The key, I think, is acceptance.

She truly cared for you if she stayed that long.
thank you for sharing what a shock cheers
I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what that was like.
To be fair to Mike, he was not at ALL acting like he is the only one getting old. He even said that he and his friends are all talking about it.
Mike I'm 80 hears old. Yes it's true that after we retire the illness starts to come out because it comes wth our age but don't let it bother you, try to think that a lot of people died young & you are so lucky to be still around at 70.
The fear of death is worse than death itself. And you can't escape death. Don't bury yourself alive.
Cowards fear. One just accepts it and moves on.
Carnivore diet, zero sugar. Almost 75 and have great health since went to carnivore.
Don't dwell on death, enjoy life! (84 here and going strong!) I was up on my roof last week cleaning out gutters.
There is no death. Life moves on to another level. Be ready.
Fear of dying is the whole problem with him. Only God is going to say when it's time to go. We can't change God's will.
I’ve been here since 2022. I, like you, never married and have no kids (to my knowledge). Going to the gym M-F is my hobby. It’s something I really enjoy. Lifting weights is a huge stress reliever, also eating right and taking care of yourself will help you forget your age.

Hey brothers. 2727 here.
I'm trying to walk 2 miles every evening running 22 miles Keep it up WR
Thank you!

Hate seeing you down bud. Keep your head up, and be happy to be where you are. Be happy to make that girls life better. I know you know. Enjoy life.

I don't want anyone else's kid. Especially a b r a t Filipino kid.

@@stevenhull5025 used the hospitals in Mindanao . I found them excellent. You have to pay but got the best care.

Horrible!
Thailand has some of the best healthcare systems and facilities in the world.
As you get older, her “needs” will continue and your ability to meet those needs will fail. What is the plan?
You obviously have not lived in 3rd world.
There are many great hospitals here if you have thousands of £££ to spend.
Accidents do happen so being healthy is not the only problem.

I'm sitting on the fence. Retire in the Philippines or dump my filipina wife and live simple in the United States.
Two rules I stick to, never ever think of what age I am and secondly never ever say the word old ,only use the word " older ".

I’m in my mid fifties and I have the same thoughts he has now……
Mike this is the most honest and meaningful video I've watched in a very long time. Thank you for sharing from your heart. Wishing you many more happy and healthy years my friend

Thank you Mike for your heart-felt, but somehow depressing, but truthful video. Expect unexpected is definitely the key word. Stay awesome !!

It sounds like you have managed to do the same ❤
Mike, it’s okay to vent. Just let it all out. But really, compared to other 70 year olds, you have much to be thankful for.
Mike you're thinking negatively will manifest as your reality. Keep dreaming, moving forward and live for now its where you are.
I’m in my mid fifties and I have the same thoughts he has now……
Very astute observation. Pay attention, Mike.
I had an old girlfriend here in Canada … she met a new fellow and one cold night , they died of Carbine monoxide…. She was 17 !!!! I’m now 77 and I’m grateful for living so much longer than her
Nice video Mike. Mike it's good you shared how you feel with your subscribers it can of relieves the stress. Venting is good.
Thanks 👍Mike
I appreciate that!
Thank you for the reality check. At 50 now, I sometimes for get things are not gonna get easier. Good to think about all the stuff you mentioned.
I’m in my mid fifties and I have the same thoughts he has now……
For all you senior old dudes out there, the best thing is to ignore your emotions and continue to live like NIKE - just do it! Continue to do something hard everyday - daily exercise does wonders. I also recommend checking out your hormones - TRT like RFK! Does wonders, for you and your Filipina! But only if done right under a physicians care. i've always said that HEALTH, comes before wealth. Tara na!
Well said
Health is ones wealth...it doesnt have to come in form of merely $$'s & cents...it can come in minutes, days, weeks, months, etc..
I just turned 59, & Im ALREADY a grumpy old man! 😂😊😅, so ive got a lot if loonngg yrs ahead of me...
It’s been over a year to get title on our property. It’s supposed to become official next month. I’m keeping my fingers crossed 🤞
Important for raizing a teenager is setting boundaries...
Your so right Rocky! Only God knows! Sorry about your loss😢. I'm 71 and met a beautiful
26 year old who wants to be with me! I'm struggling with it because of our age difference!
Reading your message to Mike and your loss tells me something?
Don't cheat yourself out of the chance to have someone! If I let the opportunity go,
I will never know...
Take Care Rocky
You Too Mike!
Roll with the punches be grateful for a chance to get older as a vet l lost many friends in their early 20's. Embrace the present all we can do.
Don't procrastinate Mike just get it done You're not a spring chicken everybody listens to your advice take it sometimes take care of those things so that you're stress will be gone stress is what causes strokes and heart attacks be careful Mike with love your friend Culley
yes sir Culley
Old age is a gift that many don't receive. Count your blessings. A negative mind won't give you a positive life.
Yah he's way over worried and thinking. Lack of faith is going to eat him alive.
Not lack of planning.
