YOU ARE FREAKING AMAZING!! THIS IS GOING TO BE A HUGE IMPROVEMENT TO MY VOCALS!! YOU ARE MY HERO LOL! I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON THESE WAVES PLUG-INS!
Hey Sean, been really enjoying your tutorials since I was told about your channel. I had a question, though. Are you doing a different mixing process for the chorus and if so is their a video for that? Also, been really thinking about purchasing some of your vocal chains. I'm a little hesitant because there are so many vocal chains and many just sound exactly the same. But if I do purchase, which one do you recommend two years after this video series? I use Logic as my main DAW, and I have Waves Platinum. Thanks man for any help you offer.
hey Kerwin, glad the videos are helping! I do have some videos covering the approach for mixing chorus / hooks - ruclips.net/video/wKrH0UqzFFY/видео.html. As for the vocal chains, I have demos and plugin requirements for each release on my website :) seandivine.com/shop/
In the other video, you sent the main vocal and backing into one aux channel ! But this video, they are sent to different aux channel sharing similar settings except reverb and delay. Using different aux is better way(of course I know it's better way to set different reverb settings ! )? I'm just curious what way you usually use :)
Hi Len, it depends on the track and vocal sound you're after - you may want a more cohesive, "glued" sound for your leads and backings so you would process both through the same aux. In other situations, you'll want more separation so we would use different auxes with different processing.
Any tips on getting in a studio for a job or internship/helping around studio if someone doesn’t have protools experience? I work solely out of logic in my house and I’m trying to get in the studio world.
By working with lads of artists. The you get some sort of results, then by learning and working then you have good results. people in the area get to know who you are because you recorded that great demo for 'x' and somebody needs something done. Your output is your cv rather than your declared skill set. What it sounds like you need is an act who are booking out a studio and want to use you as their engineer. No single DAW is the only answer, not pro tools, not logic or Cubase. Good luck.
Hello Sean, thanks for the great tutorial I've subscribed and shared your video :) One question though, why are your vocals stereo? I was told by someone that vocals should be recorded as mono and I'm kinda confused now. Thank you for your time!
they're not stereo :) the files are dual mono (just the way they were routed) and the effects are in stereo to allow you take advantage of width processing and stereo effects
Quick question is waves studio rack worth downloading what benefits does it give instead of just adding the plugins to a channel normally. I’m guessing it takes up less space and CPU
there's a lot of advantages: simple workflow, you can save / load them in any DAW, there are programmable "quick keys", every control can be automated, it's modular... to name a few :)
Hey is this on your template ? Also another question is do you do custom sounds ? I’m not sure if you have a tutorial showing people how to set up busses and aux Channels for verses and background vocals because that’s what I currently struggle with I was wondering it it’s on your templates because I’m looking to buy it
this is using StudioRack which is what I used to build my latest Vocal Chains V2 presets. It is not included in the templates but my Waves Template has some similar effects chains. I do create custom sounds :) seandivine.com/sound-design/ aux / bus / sends - ruclips.net/video/ycHcyF4qxVc/видео.html
Since I've started using Logic 10.4 I've noticed that a lot of times when using plugins they have a L + R option where you can edit only the left and right sides separately?
thanks for your video. I'm japanese.I bought Vocal chain 2 but I want to get Vocal chain 1.So I thought is Vocal chain 1 included Vocal chain 2? if it's not,I have to downgrade
doubles are usually stacked vocal takes of the same pitch (granted we're making very slight detuning in this case to create a thicker sound), harmonies are actually different pitches that harmonize together, like a chord in music theory - ruclips.net/video/aMPqrACeZic/видео.html
Hey Sean! Hope you’re doing well. How can I contact you directly? I have a track that I want you to mix. It’s in a different language you aren’t familiar with but with your skills I know you will do a great job. If you want you can have a little feel of what I’m throwing at you on my channel.
If I have something to say it will be THANK YOU Always Mr Sean I’ve been dropping quality music since 2years now for @fresh-dmiziki08 and learning with you always sound great 👍 👏

Sean Divine Sorry for the long reply and thanks for the info I’ll check the studio rack out.
Do you need a sound grid server to use studio rack?
no
mentioning about the mic ,which are you using?
rode broadcaster

Nice Video Sean 🤘 As Always - But i have a problem ☹️ When i try to add plugin in studio rack plugin they says no plugin available ! Any Suggestion ?

Thanks for this great tutorial Sean. can waves plugins be used in Akai MPCX 2.2 software? #mrpiratebrain
sure thing! I'm not sure to be honest, haven't tested with the MPCX!
Since I've started using Logic 10.4 I've noticed that a lot of times when using plugins they have a L + R option where you can edit only the left and right sides separately?
make sure you're selecting the stereo versions (S) of plugins
Can’t find this song
thanks for your video.
I'm japanese.I bought Vocal chain 2 but I want to get Vocal chain 1.So I thought is Vocal chain 1 included Vocal chain 2?
if it's not,I have to downgrade
Vocal Chains and Vocal Chains V2 contain entirely different presets. V2 also includes the presets in StudioRack format, for use in all DAWs
Where can I get waves plugins to download, could setup a link and let me get them?
waves.com
Is the studiorack placed on your track or on a Bus??
you can do either but I prefer to use a bus / aux track
Do you give mastering service?
seandivine.com/mixing-and-mastering
Im still so confused on the difference between background vocals, harmonies and doubles???
background vocals are essentially any supporting vocal tracks for the lead (they could be harmonies or they could be doubles / stacks)
Okay got that, how about the difference between harmonies and doubles?@@SeanDivine
doubles are usually stacked vocal takes of the same pitch (granted we're making very slight detuning in this case to create a thicker sound), harmonies are actually different pitches that harmonize together, like a chord in music theory - ruclips.net/video/aMPqrACeZic/видео.html
