yo! Weird situation, but all the Undertale content you'll see across all of my channels will not be monetized. Materia Media Publishing, the holder's of Toby Fox's music copyright have explicitly stated that RUclipsrs cannot post videos of Undertale unless they are demonetized. This is a terrible precedent to set and stifles creativity and interactivity with the game. I'll publish all of my playthrough regardless for your enjoyment, but I'm disappointed in how this is gone. Thankfully I am in no means reliant on VOD channel revenue, but it does fund bigger projects for the main channel--others who want to cover Undertale might not be so fortunate. Whew. I bet Toby isn't too happy about that.

Watching this man spend a literal hour trying to kill Undyne, only to be struck with searing guilt the instant she's dead, to the point where you can pinpoint the literal moment on his face where he regrets his decision.... THIS is what makes Undertale what it is. THIS is why I love seeing people experience it for the first time.
"You can see the exact moment his heart breaks in half!"
Seriously! How can everyone just desperately try to force pacifist. If they love the neutral theyll love//actually want to do the pacifist! Sheesh.
@@Dani-tp4wn Because when you've already played Undertale, it hurts to see somebody murdering half of the characters you love without understanding why it's bad. Also, the lore is the same in pacifist (not True Pacifist) and another neutral run.
But, it is in fact better for a new player to start by playing the way they want to play.

I knew that you could win thundersnail, i did not know about the close win thing.

@@GooberpotomousIts very easy.
The moment Eric realized what kind of game Undertale _actually_ is was fantastic. Also, love the line "It seems like murding things... um... kills them." very excited to watch the other two playthroughs.
it was literally that "people die when they are killed" meme lol
2:23:55 if a one wants the timestamp
This entire video is just the "WHEN WILL YOU LEARN THAT YOUR ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES" meme
It's incredible how efficient this game was at forcing pointcrow to go from "I'm gonna grab some exp real quick" to "God please make it stop my heart"
I feel like this is an often overlooks part of undertale. The way it completely shatters your old gamer habits. Because this kind of emotional impact really only happens when you don't have backseat gamers forcing you to go pacifist. The game is personalized to the decisions the player makes. Letting the player make whatever decision they want leads to a much stronger emotional experience.
yeah, but the experience gets ruined for 99% of players because everyone and their mom has heard of the pacifist run and wants to do it first.
it's nice to see someone bite the "undertale bait" of grinding and shit
@@skyiloh7460 right? i get so excited when i see newcomers to the series make that first kill cause i know exactly what this game is gonna do to them
“I did nothing wrong”
back up to when you tried to kill Napstablook
The pointcrow learns empathy for 8 hours was accurate though.
You can really tell Pointcrow didn't feel comfortable at all with how undynes death looked
Also Pointcrow went through big feeling changes while progressing through the game when he started he didn't really care that much and wanted to team with flowey now he hates flowey lol.
And his genuine reaction to the game closing was amazing
The true way to play undertale
He still spared Flowey tho.
@@RGC_animation and he did good cus he helps you and gives you hints at how to do True Pacifist without resorting to a guide lol
4:18:18 I find it kinda mind blowing that he got to the end of the neutral route, without ever getting exposed to the whole "the game remembers your last save" thing, but actually it makes sense, since he never went back to change his actions. Really makes you realize how much of the game can seem obvious to the fans, but isn''t actually displayed so clearly in the game
in my first play through i had experienced the game remember thing cuz i killl torieal (by accident idk how not to im not a monster) and hen i reset at almost snowdin cuz i felt bad and then flowey did the thing.
it's not as unlikely as you think.
(Spoilers)
Undyne, at 0 HP: "I WON'T DIE! EVERYONE'S COUNTING ON ME! I WILL STOP YOU!"
>Proceeds to actually kill PointCrow, thus saving the underground. While at 0 HP.
Not me actually crying at the “ despite everything, it’s still you part”….
I love how Toby put multiple defenses in place to make sure new players would rethink if they should be killing everyone
The first was Toriel teaching you how to talk, then there was the fight with Toriel herself
Then in Snowdin, the royal gaurd dogs (no one wants to hurt dogs)
And then Papyrus’s fight
And then Undyne shaming you if you’ve killed anyone
It’s just so cool
That ending call is crazy lmao, it's basically
Papyrus: HELLO HUMAN, ME AND SANS HAVE COOL SUITS AND GLASSES NOW! EVERYONE IS COMMITING SUICIDE
this is an absurd comment, especially reading it in papyrus's voice
pointcrow: **sees undyne die** "i'd like to change my ways please"
also pointcrow: kills the first enemy he sees without hesitation
The fact that every character in this game, even the side characters, have their own roles and lives just makes this game different from other rpg's (at least, the ones pointcrow have played)
Pointcrow was used to killing these "mobs" and grind for exp to get stronger but the way this game just makes you feel bad after doing those "grinding" just makes this a realistic rpg game
something i love a lot about this game is its designed for people that are, well, gamers. every part of it is designed for people that have played a lot of games and have that "grind" mindset. its always giving out bait to get you to behave a certain way and always makes guesses on the way you will behave based on established rpg tropes. like the first monsters you meet are genaric mobs for a reason. they dont really speak, they look like the starter mobs from literally any rpg, one of them is a slime which anyone familiar with the genre wouldnt think twice about killing (probably why those ones can be spared right away too).
when someone that isnt used to playing games (or not used to jrpg style games at least) comes in and plays this game ive noticed they sometimes miss a lot of the "gamer bait" and their experience doesnt carry the same weight as someone that knows the genre does.
its really kind of amazing how much this game plays with expectations. flowey really sets the base line for the game. he tells you everything is all sunshine and rainbows and then tries to kill you. so by the end of the ruins you're questioning whether toriel wants to kill you too. by that point your rpg brain is already actived, acting doesnt work, and most people already forgot the sparing hint so... you fall for the game's bait and kill her.
undertale really is toby fox's love letter to rpg games and i think thats why it resonates so much with so many of us. i could literally write a whole essay about this
even though i’ve been an undertale fan for 6 years, this is a very unique run i’ve seen thus far! i’m really glad pointcrow wasn’t spoiled as much for this game and that he played it first the way he wanted to! i love the development in his feelings towards the game and its characters, from not really caring much about them to being uneasy about how his actions are affecting the characters who are related to the characters he’s defeated (e.g. alphys, snowdrake’s father)
i really loved how killing undyne added a sense of guilt throughout all his interactions with alphys. it really changed the whole tone of hotland and probably was the intended first run experience. it adds a nice duality too because alphys also feels guilty for lying to us
I Love that you did this however you wanted for the first time. I've never seen this ending....it's been YEARS and I didn't know it existed! Loved the pacifist run too, can't wait for the no mercy run :)
I feel like this is the way the game is intended to be played if you haven't been spoiled. Almost everyone knows about the pacifist run now days, but if you don't this is the natural thing to do since it's how most games work. The game gradually hints there's a better way through moments like this.
@@xyllar idk, after learning the consequences of my actions from killing monster at ruin and flowey confronted me I understood
I am so happy he did his own route. I didn't know this neural run existed which is super cool to figure out.
Oh shit, I‘ve never seen a neutral Undyne kill it seems like, and lorewise it’s so interesting that she actually melts!
I heard a theory that the initial disintegrating was from her actually dying, and that the melting afterwards is from her own determination. (Bc in the true lab, too much determination melts the monsters, making the amalgamates) Undyne wanted to live so badly, she wanted to save the underground, and her will to live killed her. I’m so sad
If you look closely, she WAS about to turn into UNDYING, but she probably couldn't since she didnt have a reason to, since the entire WORLD WASNT in danger. When she turns UNDYING in the NO MERCY route, she says: "if you get past me, humans, monsters, everyone, you will destroy them all" or something like that, anyways thats what i think tho!@@chimkinnugget7134
It’s disgusting how companies don’t want people to enjoy music because they want to suck every single cent out of anything they can. I feel very strongly about this.
Seeing pointcrow wastes all his money on thundersnail, it fills you with determination.
Considering the Undyne Fight I’m worried about him playing again on a certain route
I’ve never see undynes neutral death before…
this is probably the most fighting done in a neutral run ive ever seen
if you do both, DO NOT do the genocide ru before the pacifist
I disagree, genocide is kinda pointless otherwise imo
@@rmstalker1928 I believe the game literally doesn't let you reach the true good ending if you do genocide first. It shames you and stuff instead. To reach it, he would have to do a true restart and play the neutral all over again.

"But nobody came" sheeeeeeeeeesh, forgot about that one.
this was a really great first neutral run. im so glad there are still people getting to experience this game for the first time. it never gets old no matter how many playthroughs i watch
Goat who attempts to meet your every need: *Death*
Some Flower who killed you multiple times: "I'm a changed man"
Great stream!!
to the person who said "terraria calamity mod gameplay" during the omega flowey fight
godspeed
just a note (no spoilers i promise), pacifisct / neutral / genocide runs are all REALLY different, they each have things you can only see in those runs like unique areas, gameplay elements, and bosses. If you do genocide next, you get locked out of true pacifist FOREVER because the game rememebers your past playthroughs, and there is SO MUCH good content that is only in pacifist run. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND doing pacifist before genocide. It also makes genocide run a lot more interesting because it gives you context for certain things. TRUST ME. PACIFIST BEFORE GENOCIDE.
This is a blatant lie. You can do pacifist after genocide, the only thing that changes is an easter egg at the end
@@cherryheights this isn't really a blatant lie but rather a selective telling of the truth. There are people who refer to post-genocide pacifist routes as "soulless pacifist", which would thus mean that it isn't a "true pacifist" run anymore. This claim is just straight up stupid, but that's just my own opinion.
This was amazing can't wait to see you genocide and pacifist runs
he's already done pacifist
And now genocide
amazing how the power of gay love convinced crow to give up his murderous ways
edit: *NEARLY convinced him to give up his murderous ways. for a time. albeit a short one.
I still feel so bad for PointCrow seeing how the chat is just constantly backseating and giving out spoilers. Undertale's a good game and all, but since it's been out for long, you literally can't play the game without someone screaming at you. I really hope it didn't disrupt his enjoyment.
honestly its still better than it was right after the game came out. people are a lot more protective of unspoiled playthroughs than they used to be now that its so rare to find someone that hasn't genuinely hasnt heard anything
I don't think I've ever seen someone play through this game blind. Really cool. Your moderators did a great job, and I'm fairly impressed with chat.
I love to see a true neutral run, with all the guilt trip that entails. Dang, I didn't expect to see the snow drake guilt though. Also amazing how you managed to get the Mettatton takes over ending, which is my personal favorite just for the absurdity of it all.
Great stream!
So sad that the music is getting claimed now, it used to be free to use :(
If you do both Pacifist and Genocide runs, make sure you do the Pacifist run first. Genocide kind of....corrupts the Pacifist ending.
1:50:03 OMG I just realized that statement by Alphys is aimed towards backseaters!
The fact that he missed temmie village but like
JUST
Is so frustrating.
Yes.
If he just didn't find it it would be one thing, but he WALKED ONTO THE SECRET PATH, and his brain proceeded to ignore that and go back to the normal path
I love how meta this game is. And I love how there's no way to know till it happens
43:29 "YEAH! FRIENDSHIP!" -The human who brutally murdered at least 21 others, 2022
Its believed that Alphys killed herself in this ending because Undyne had died ;-;
I love all the chatters saying don’t eat the pie, like he was ever gonna spare Asgore.
so the crash part is actully suppost to happen so flowey crashes your game on purpose
Yeah, RUclipsrs and Twitch streamers deal with a lot of crap, especially in terms of copyright with music. Copyright claims are awful, and even if music etc. falls under fair use there's a high chance that you'll get copyrighted anyways :c
Feels pretty amazing watching someone else's journey from the beginning again esp when he thought his game actually crashed haha
Eric 6 hours into the game: Maybe I shouldn't murder
Even though it wouldnt be monetized, you should really consider doing a pacifist and eventually a genocide run. Pacifist is considered to be the true happy ending of the game, and is really worth playing through. I saw how u regretted killing Toriel and Unyne. THe point of Undertale is to make u get attacked to the characters, and the Pacifist run really makes you love them all. Also, when you don't want to kill a boss, you can continually use the "spare" option until the end of the fight. As I think u know, you'll know the fight is progressing if the attacks change. Thanks so much for playing this, though. Undertale is an amazing game and your sense of humor adds a lot more enjoyment to it.

Now this is why you gotta let people play however they want in their first playthrough. Definitely one if the best first playthroughs of Undertale I have seen.
Because of how Undyne messed with combat mechanics, I put her at 3rd and 2nd most difficult boss battles in Undertale in my own personal list.
I hope you do end up playing both the other endings, they’re basically separate games
The fact that undyne says "No I wont die" then kills crow, of course when knowing the narrative reason theyre able to do that makes sense, but man not knowing that and being at the other end of that spear must fell bad

Let’s go! Bro finally completed undertale!
2:23:51 The turning point is beautiful to see
Its interesting to see crow with the gamer mentality "trash monsters" and all that because in undertale every kill has a narrative consequence the game treats defeating an enemy like murder so its interesting to se cow realize that and adapt in real time, and the undyne encounter was jut beautiful it was like watching the gamer mentality go against undertales narrative directly, to the chat she was there hero and to crow she was in her way, really interesting stuff
Beating Photoshop Flowey on second try!! Insane!
I love the King Mettaton ending, it's so interesting, and could definitely make or a good fangame where a new human falls into Mettaton Dystopia (someone should make that)
While he was on undyne and the time I was wishing he’d put on better gear
Huh, this is the VERY first time I've ever seen a blind first playthrough end with the king mettaton ending, that's fascinating. I've always wanted to see new players get some of the lesser known endings!
