Thank you for sharing, tried this today and it worked. Didnt come out exactly perfect for me but it worked it just smeared a bit on one corner! I used a regular iron and held a thin cotton cloth around the vinyl to help keep it in place and from the paper curling off.
Hi! I absolutely love y'alls tutorials! You're my go-to anytime I need to learn anything Cricut related and y'all have helped me so much, so thank you!!!
Love the way they turned out!
So cute! Thnx for sharing this idea Rach. Much ❤️ from Texas. 😘
Thank you for watching :)
Fantastic tutorial. Thank you. I may give this a try. Wishing you and the entire MGL team a super week. Hugs Susan
Thank you for watching :)
Great tutorial thanks Rachael
Wow! Amazing! So cute! Lve that its dishwasher safe.
Yes, so cool! Thanks for watching!
Another project to try!
Thank you for watching :)
Great tutorial as usual! Thanks so much!! Could you use the little bitty mini heat press?
Love this idea
Thank you for watching :)
I plan on trying this tomorrow.
Thank you for watching :)
So cool! Thank you.
Thank you for watching :)
U are a great teacher♡
Thank you very much! You're so sweet!
Looks great! So what is the advantage to using iron on for the tumbler as opposed to the regular vinyl?
For me personally, I have a ton of beautiful iron on vinyl and not as much regular vinyl. I make custom epoxy tumblers so for me this is very beneficial to use what I have, more vinyl options, instead of spending more for regular vinyl.
@TheMDC03 does the htv stick better than the adhesive vinyl? Doing my very 1st paid for order and I want to make sure the vinyl sticks good and lasts as long as possible.
Yes, why did you use iron on vs regular vinyl?
Great tutorial!
Can we put it on a paint tumbler or on an epoxy ?
Thanks
could you use the mini press to do this project as well as the 6x7 easy press?
I loved your video! I went ahead and tried it but my vinyl left some residue behind. Did I heat it to long? Or does that go away after a while? I didn’t use glitter just plain white.
Can you use a regular iron for this?
Did you just know that I was going to make these for my Child
Care?? :-)
I use my Cricut mini iron. Works just fine.
Rachel what would you seal this type of tumbler , With epoxy or not seal it at all or use something else ? Thank you in advance
The mini would probably work well with this too
it would work amazingly! When we filmed the video the Mini wasn't out yet :)
You’re the best
Awesome Rachel can you use the Celebrate it Heat Tool from Micheal’s to do this if you don’t have a small easy Press?? Thank You For All Of Your Knowledge and Kindness
Was gonna ask the same thing. I have a Darice heat tool and it has saved my butt before.
Did you do one back to front Rachel?
Can the iron on vinyl be applied on a tumbler that I first used infusible ink transfer sheet? Thank you.
Hi, I'm thinking of doing this on coffee mugs I sell. Would you say this makes the design last longer than regular vinyl?
What heat setting would you use for the mini? Also would you recommend sealing this like you would a regular vinyl or is it pretty secure?
Thank you!
300! And yes you would need to seal it if you want it to last which kind of defeats the purpose of using HTV so we actually don't really recommend it a whole lot. But if you want to use it, go for it! Here's a video on how we recommend sealing them: ruclips.net/video/4-A5hWiEADg/видео.html
Hello! I love how it turn out, do I hace to seal the tumbler after this or that’s it?
Only seal if if you want to :) You do not HAVE to! ruclips.net/video/4-A5hWiEADg/видео.html
Can you do layer htv on a stainless steel tumbler using two colors?
I have a question. Can you use a mug press to put the iron on vinyl on the tumbler? I have the easy press and a mug press, just trying to figure out the best way. Also, can you use sublimation tumblers?
Could you use the mini press on this?
Hi, I did this, however the vinyl started peeling after a few weeks. Should I sand the area?
Love the iron on! Do you feel like you need to put some sort of sealant on this to make sure it doesnt come off in the water when you hand wash?
Yes, we love dishwasher safe mod podge :)
Does the dishwasher safe Mod Podge change or leave streaks on the matte tumbler?
Hi there
can this prosess be done on clear polyurethane or plastic wine glasses
So this is safe with any heat transfer vinyl? Which is better HTV or permanent vinyl?
One of them is mirrored. 😊😅 But thank u for so awesome tutorial. 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Can you use a cup press with the htv as well?
Can u use the iron for the transfers that cover the entire tumbler
Have you guys tested this out with the mug press since it came out? (I know this video was way before it came out 😂)
Can we use sublimation tumblers?
Looks great!
Where can I get good tumblers for a cheap price? I want to start my own business but I don't know where to start. Help please!
TIA!!!!
Are you able to use easy press mini for these projects?
I recently did one with my mini.
Can you use a regular iron on aluminum cups
How do you do this with a 10 by 12 heat press?
Hi which stainless steel cup is this do you have a link?
Can you wash them or have to addy epoxy
Does htv stick better than adhesive vinyl?
Question can these go in the dishwasher
what setting should you use if you only have the easy press mini?
the lowest one :)
I do have a question tho. I saw in the comments that you do recommend the Heat Press Mini, but it wasn't out yet when this video was done. Rachel makes it clear that the temp needs to be set at 300. But the Mini doesn't have an exact temp setting...only low, medium, and high. I saw somewhere that someone tested each setting and the high was apprx 320. Will that still work okay??? I'd like to get one, but want to make sure it will work for this project.
I have the 12x10 heat press and don't want to hassle with trying to use that big, heavy thing! But I was SO excited when I saw that HTV glitter can be applied to tumblers. I actually think the HTV is easier to work with.
Sooo again, will the High temp setting on the Heat Press Mini work for this project???
Thanks SO much!!!
The mini Easypress has 3 heat settings, 300, 350, and 400 degrees. So, using the first/lowest temp setting is what you need to use :)
@@MakersGonnaLearn Thank you SO much! Glad I asked y'all instead of relying on an inaccurate comment! 😊
Great job! I would think you could coat these with 2 coats of epoxy to make dishwasher safe, no?
I would say yes since you're securing the iron on vinyl with epoxy.
Wish the application with epoxy after the application of the vinyl was also included in the video.
With the iron does it dishwasher safe?
Have you tried this with foil iron on?
Why would you use iron instead of permanent vinyl on this type of project? I think I am asking the same question as Betsy, but I did not see a response.
For me personally, I have a ton of beautiful iron on vinyl and not as much regular vinyl. I make custom epoxy tumblers so for me this is very beneficial to use what I have, more vinyl options, instead of spending more for regular vinyl.
I think the iron on stays on better
@@cathycain3559 it doesn't. They've done tests to see which holds on stronger, regular vinyl for the win. 😊 They make so many patterns and colors in regular vinyl, the whole htv process seems like a waste of a lot time.
Good question. I was wondering the same thing...the benefit of the heat/iron on
Do you can put on top of the iron on regular vinyl?
You cannot.
Can i do this also on cups with straws?
if you want to try! This technique is difficult, make sure you use glitter HTV.
Hey Rachel can I use the Celebrate Heat Gun from Micheal’s it’s like the one Tanner has for this project? Thank You
You cannot! You need some type of heat press :)
THANK YOU RACHEL I Also Have A Easy Press Thank You Again I Love Everything You And Tanner Do Y’all Are Awesome
Any feedback whether HTV holds up longer/better than Cricut permanent vinyl? I just did one with HTV on my SS Yeti.
Seems to hold up well for us! Especially since we sealed ours with dishwasher safe mod podge!
@@MakersGonnaLearn When you use the dishwasher safe mod modge (I have some, just haven't tried it yet) do you put it on the entire cup or just over the image? Can you tell if it isn't over the entire cup? Thanks so much!
Makers Gonna Learn so with the dishwasher safe do you use it before and after or just final coat? And is it really dishwasher safe or hand Wash?
Do u think iron on last longer than permanent vinyl
What can you use if you do not have the hot press or heat gun?
To Iron-On tumblers properly you need an EasyPress. the EasyPress Mini is perfect for the job: amzn.to/2zvjW9D
Can you use the heat press mini?
Yes. This video was created before the Mini came out
How long it stays?
I love this idea. Can you use a cup heat press?
sure
Hi where can I buy iron on for ironing on tumblers?
Here you go: www.143vinyl.com/12-inch-x-20-inch-sheets-siser-glitter-HTV/
Can you use a heat gun to apply it?
you cannot, you need at least a Cricut EasyPress Mini: amzn.to/2zvjW9D .
Do i need to seal this?
Is this better that the permanent vinyl?
Hello! We recommend using regular adhesive vinyl, and yes, please seal it :) Here's a video on how ruclips.net/video/4-A5hWiEADg/видео.html
@@MakersGonnaLearn thanks for answer!
Eek. I tried this today and so far it's a big fail. I initially used my regular iron, but that didn't seem to work so then I switched over to a blow-dryer. I applied a lot of pressure, used an old gift card, and when I tried to peel off the clear backing, the letters are coming off. Any suggestions?
We recommend using glitter HTV only, and definitely using the Cricut EasyPress Mini: amzn.to/2zvjW9D .Good Luck!
I tried with Cricut Easy Press (same exact one as in video) and also failed. I am attempting enamel spray paint on stainless steel tumblers and if that doesn't work never trying them again.
How does it hold up after wash
Well, if you seal it with this: Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge: amzn.to/354190H
Hello
Hi Dawn!
How would you seal this?
Here you go: ruclips.net/video/4-A5hWiEADg/видео.html
Thank you Rachel for the tutorial. I was wondering if after you get the glitter iron on to adhere, can seal it so it can be washed in the dishwasher?
Thanks again
Carol
Yes ma'am you can if you'd like! We use Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge: amzn.to/354190H
@@MakersGonnaLearn thank you so much for responding!
Carol
Hand wash only then? Thats wothout modge podge?
Yes!
Did you mirror this image or just put the HTV face down?
You cut it shiny side down and mirror the image. Here's a beginners guide to working with HTV which will help you: ruclips.net/video/Md-X0arZnqg/видео.html
Can I use iron on starbucks reasuable cups
Nope! those are plastic
Which one did you forget to mirror?
Who knows, lol. I only realized it after I filmed the video. Too focused on Ironing on I guess haha!
can this be done over epoxy resin?
I’d love to know this also
So for someone just starting out a regular iron could be used for this .
It doesn’t work as well.
am i trippin'> or is the silver cups monogram backwards???
You...... would be correct LOL
do you have to put the dishwasher safe mod lodge on them once they're done? or does the iron on stay on in the dishwasher?
It will not stay on, you will need to seal it too :)
couldn't I use my bigger press somehow?
You need the control of a small Easy Press in order to do this properly. We recommend the Cricut EasyPress Mini: amzn.to/2zvjW9D for this, but it wasn't available when this video came out.
Can this be washed in dishwasher?
It cannot!
We use regular Oracal 651 vinyl for tumblers at our sign shop people wash them in their dishwashers for over a year with no problem, why go through the trouble to heat transfer them? You could make at least 6 vinyl in the time to make one heat transfer.
gonzo outthere Do you put a sealant on them?
One of them is backwards
Can you use “ iron on “ on top of epoxy ?
You cannot :) We don't recommend that
iron on tumbler?? can I use Premium Vinyl
Well of course... This is just another option! :)
Lol, did you forget to mirror the image on the gold one? It's backwards.
Yup. Only realized it after I filmed the video. I guess I was too focused on actually Ironing on the tumblers, lol.
Thank you, interesting. Can you use a tumbler press?
