There are 3 postgame press conferences that I love for the NFL. This one. One was with Herman Edwards where he goes off about playing the game to win and then there was one with Bill Parcells where he said he did not want to talk about a specific play and then a reporter asked a follow-up question about the play. Then Parcells exploded. It was great.
Great quality, editing, voiceover, etc! This popped up on my recommended and as I was watching I saw: 700 views…I was like, huh? Must be one of those undiscovered small channels…keep up this quality and you’ve got something! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Let's be real here: Mora didn't say anything that's not true in that press conference. Manning threw 23 INTs that year, he literally threw himself under the bus.
Throwing your young QB under the bus like that to the media is a pretty crummy thing to do as a coach though… nonetheless it resulted in all time classic sports rant/meme. Lol So all’s well that ends well.
@@Austin.KilgoreAnd what really hurt the Colts in 2001 is that Edgerrin James tore his ACL after just six games and would miss the rest of the season. At that time, James was arguably the second best running back in the NFL after Marshall Faulk, he was just a complete weapon who could do it all. All of a sudden you lose all the production that he provided, so the Colts organization turns to Peyton and basically says “it’s all on your shoulders now, go pick up the slack and win us games”. 2008 Peyton Manning could have handled it no problem but in 2001 not so much, he was a great quarterback during that era no question, but he wasn’t quite ready to handle that kind of pressure, hence why he turned the ball over so many times, he felt like he had to force things in order to make plays happen
I still don’t under stand why did they trade Faulk at the end of Peyton’s rookie year and he didn’t wann go but on the long run best thing that happen to Marshall
@@jerseylowlow In 1998, Faulk was one of the few bright spots for a 3-13 Colts team, he had over 2,200 yards from scrimmage, 10 touchdowns, made his third Pro Bowl and was named to the All-Pro team for the third time as well. So Faulk wanted some more money, and I can’t say I blame him, but he still had two years left on his rookie contract, so the Colts were not obligated to restructure his contract just because he wanted more money, despite many arguing that he was worth the money. Add on the fact that Faulk was already 26 years old, which isn’t old but after five years, he had built up some mileage. So they traded him to the Rams and the Colts drafted another future Hall of Famer in Edgerrin James who was the perfect replacement, as he could run the ball and catch passes effectively. So it was a trade that worked out for everyone, Faulk won a Super Bowl with the Rams and James helped the Colts become a dominant force in the AFC for years to come.
@ the way I read it Faulk didn’t wann play with a Peyton who really know but when he miss that block that put his qb out of the season he said he went full go in scrimmages everything and a young Kurt Warner. If it wasn’t for him other guys they help them get to that Super Bowl that year goes to show you a whole team can rally around a rookie or nobody him and the other players they really helped it that young kid out that’s him being a pro really came in.
Another brilliant video, thank you! The parallel in the UK was the infamous Kevin Keegan ‘I would love it’ rant - when Newcastle were on top of the prem and they ended up collapsing and missing out on their best ever chance of a title.
Wow the production quality of this video is great I’m shocked by how few subs u have for how incredible this vid was but u just earned one, I can see this channel definitely growing quickly keep it up man
Mora was not wrong by saying Manning wasnt playing well but its not good to blast your QB publicly, especially if Manning owned the poor performance, especially after the loss of James when the runningbacks were extremely important. Football is a team game, and its not like Mora's defenses with the Colts were top 5.
Jim didn't get into coaching until his late 20's, he didn't get his first shot at an NFL head coaching job until he was almost 50 years old. He worked for 22 years as an assistant, you can't say he wasn't dedicated.
Hey great job! Mora might be the best coach to never win a playoff game. He turned the Saints into winners if you can believe that. Looking at those clips of Peyton he looked like he needed to get himself together…his feet were all over the place and who knows what he was reading on those picks.
That's a VERY good take, on Jim Mora's rant, and his tenure as head coach at Indy! These days, having the courage of your convictions and taking a stand, seems to be 'out of style'. So looking back at Jim Mora, we can see how character does count, and that standing for your convictions, even if they get you canned, often can lead to good outcomes in the grand scheme. Doing the right thing doesn't always come with a reward you can pocket... but it sure makes it a lot easier to look at oneself in the mirror later down the line.
I love when coaches or players go off script during press conferences. It's an emotional game....by all means, show some emotion. My only real issue with Mora's rant is he didn't take any responsibility for the issues.
Jim Mora was a great NFL head coach, however because he never won a playoff game he'll never be in the class of Don Shula, Bill Walsh, Chuck Noll, or Bill Bellicheck. In fact he'll never even be in the class of Bud Grant or Marv Levy both of whom went 0-4 in Superbowls.
honestly peyton manning should of never been drafted imo. the sexual assault should of had him banned in college. just another reasoni hate american sports. its ok if ur famous enough.
Nah. It reminds me of when Bart Starr told Lombardi not to degrade in front of the team because they wouldn’t respect him as a leader. Do it behind closed doors.
@@beam5655 That doesn't negate the fact that Peyton was a hypocrite with that statement. You can't say you have thick skin and then turn around and cry that your coach called you out for crappy play. Someone with thick skin would say, "YEA, I played like crap. Need to do better!" If Mora had called him names that's a different story. If you're a man, own up to your part.

Was gonna comment this. All love thoug still fantastic content. Tip notch keep grinding
And he pronounced 2022 wrong. It's TWENTY TWENTY TWO, NOT TWO THOUSAND TWENTY TWO
Jim Mora’s “Playoffs!” Rant is one of the best postgame press conferences of all time

Appreciate the watch man!
I first saw him on one of his earlier videos and I've been saying this 💯

Peyton Manning directly states that he "can handle it" and then proceeds not to handle it at all, whining and complaining. What thick skin?
2022 hire wins 2006 superbowl thats some back to the future shit
Was just about to say that 😂
Dude great content please keep making it and people will find it!!!
🙏
What a channel!! Just found it, how do you not have QUADRUPLE the amount of subs?! Keep it up.
My guy, appreciate it! Can't stop now
I think Mora’s “Should of could of” rant was better the playoff rant is sadly what he’s always going to be remembered for
For me, it's "You Will Never Know" or "We just got our ass kicked" that are the best most iconic Mora moments.
Idk how you don't got more views but keep it up I promise they'll come, this was a good vid - good shit commenting for the algorithm
My guy 💪

I've got to look into that!
Great video! I also love the infamous “who in the hell is mel kiper anyway” rant
🤣
Amazing video my guy!
Thanks for watching!

Yeah this is like OG Secret Base, great deep dive!!
Wow, thanks!

Damn man you have a great channel here. Keep making these videos. It’s only a matter of time before the views catch up to the quality of your content.
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching
love the video. Keep it up!

I saw this live, classic.

Will always be 2nd to Denny Green's rant, but a great rant none-the-less, glad to see Coach Mora finally embrace it.
I agree and in 3rd I would put Belichicks “On to Cincinnati “ following a loss.
I thought someone would have mentioned about DJ Steve Porter's, "Press Hop." Then again, I'm old.
8:51 "2022" 😅 no biggie
😅
2002 but we know what you meant.
Jim Mora is more known for his epic rant than he would have ever been had he won a Super Bowl with Peyton instead. That rant will live on forever.
jim mora, that was SICK
No wonder eagles' defense was mad doodoo this past year 😂😂
He wasn’t actually the DC in philly this past year, he just got named as the new DC for the Eagles
Woah! I didn't know Mora threw Manning under the bus like that! He'd be fired on the spot today 😅
Got one for Dennis Green?

PLAYOFFS?!
🤣
This meltdown is nothing compared to Jerry Burns coming to defense of Bob Holloway after a win.
Is Michael Vick the narrator?
🤣
Wish they never hired Mora .He ran Faulk out of town.Mora's ego wants to be the star of the team
Beats "diddily poo" by a nose..
Manning ain’t no Brady in the “playoffs!”
I see what you did there lol
👍
5:55 PLAYOFFS 😂 5:56 5:57 6:00
The QB he was trashing is Peyton Manning!
G Damm man get to the point Jesus padding a video much
That is some thin skin there, Manning.
I miss that part always caught playoffs
But yes u going be fired .
Brady lost chiefs bad belchick never call Brady out
honestly peyton manning should of never been drafted imo.
the sexual assault should of had him banned in college.
just another reasoni hate american sports.
its ok if ur famous enough.
Beat it
*reason
Should’ve drafted Ryan Leaf
Peyton says he has thick skin then complains about being rightfully called out??😂
Nah. It reminds me of when Bart Starr told Lombardi not to degrade in front of the team because they wouldn’t respect him as a leader. Do it behind closed doors.
@@-PURPLE-HEAD he didn't degrade him. He spoke facts.
Mora was ass, they fired him and Peyton went on to win 4 MVPs and a SB in the following 8 years.
