Hogan was and still is an absolute tool. Saying Bret wasn't in his league. 😂 Bret could wrestle rings around the gas filled leather looking ass. Period.
Wow, you get 2 guys for this entire segment, who actually wrestled HH (1 of them twice!!), and Eric (we all know that story). How about getting 5-10 wrestlers, who actually tell their truth?
Brett i always liked you, but if Vince changed the champion it was because the money was not there. Hulk may have been a jerk, but he was a money maker.
Bret should of realized with how many times Vince lied to him that Vince was going to screw him over. He always chose guys like HBK or Hogan over Bret. Vince deserve Bret
No surprise really. As bischoff said, for a long time Hogan was the biggest universal name next to Mohammed Ali. That would be hard for anyone to let go, human ego
For sure Terry (hulk) is a normal person who isn’t a positive and supportive character behind the scenes, so Brett saying this comes as no surprise to many people. Fun fact: as a fan I had a similar outcome to an interaction with Brett in about 1996 after a big show in Regina Saskatchewan at a nightclub in Regina Saskatchewan, called “Checkers” I believe. I politely and carefully approached him while he stood at the bar talking with a few of his friends or roadies, and respectfully waited close by until there was a break in their conversation so as to not interrupt whatever they were talking about. I saw a chance, so approached him and tapped him on the arm “Excuse me Mr Hart, my name is xxxx and I just wanted to let you know that I am a huge fan of yours, and wanted to say hi and let you know that I appreciate you, and hope to break into the business one day”. Not a word. Not a break in facial expression other than to make a disgusted type smirk while he gave me a quick eye up and down, made a loud “pfft” noise as if to say “ok bud, whatever”, then turned back to the bar and took a swig off his beer bottle. I’m telling you, as a 22yo 6’4”ripped and muscular 260lb kid, I was heart broken and pissed off at the same time. Stopped cheering for him that very day, and decided I wanted nothing to do with a business that had people who treat their fans this way. I ran into Psycho Sid and Ted Dibiase later that night, and those two men couldn’t be any more opposite to deal with. I wouldn’t have approached them if I saw them, but actually ran right into the chest of Sid as I walked around a comer heading to the washroom. HE was apologizing profusely, unaware that HE was one of my favorite wrestlers. 2 of the nicest and most normal guys you could meet. I’ve met many more people in the industry since then, but that always stuck with me. In later years I worked in a gym that a lot of wrestlers worked out in, and had the absolute pleasure of meeting and talking with Owen Hart on several occasions. The complete opposite of Brett in nearly every way, and other people always said the same thing. Brett was always an arrogant shit head outside of work, and Owen was giving and kind. His days off were spent being a proud dad, taking his kids to swimming lessons and volunteering with their school and in the commmnty. Brett may be right when it comes to his interactions with Hogan, but make no mistake - Brett is all about Brett, and nobody else ever. Anyone who knows him in real life outside of fan meet and greet event will tell you the same thing. I got to know Bruce hart over the years, and even he didn’t have much nice to say about Brett even though they are cut from the same stiff cloth.
To be fair, for the longest time Hogan was synonymous with professional wrestling so in the eyes of the fans anyone else was just a backup player. So you can’t really fault Hogan for feeling that way.
I had to leave another comment because Eric Bischoff is trying to be the hero in his interview saying that Bill Watts was fired because he was racist and said racist things but it wasn’t just Bill Watts almost everybody within WCW was racist. They had a huge lawsuit back in 1998 I believe and Eric Bischoff and most of the top WCW wrestlers were racist. Eric Bischoff did not see potential in black wrestlers until the lawsuit came about and he put the world title on Booker T towards the end of WCW he’s no different than Bill Watts and I might come off as a racist for saying this which I will admit, but I kinda agree with the mindset which most people within the WCW had at that time if you watch wrestling in the 90s, especially WCW, you would see most of the crowd was white. Most of the top talent was white. They were the ones who were drawing money, black wrestlers or Japanese wrestlers/Mexican wrestlers weren’t big draws. If you was a wrestling fan in the 90s you did not go to a WCW or WWF event to see a black Mexican or a Japanese superstar you just didn’t they weren’t big draws. During those times I can’t speak about today’s wrestling because I don’t watch wrestling anymore but back then all the top stars was white.
Sure, Hulk was all about Hulk, but for Brett to say he was still the top superstar didn't feel right at all. I'm old enough to remember that time and Brett still felt like a step under the top guys
Maybe to you. That’s your opinion and that’s all good but facts are facts. Bret drew a shit ton of money, made EVERYONE he wrestled look phenomenal and they’ve admitted and thanked him for it, he put just about everyone over too. Not to mention he’s the best technical, in ring wrestler of his time.
All the match rating nerds will disagree and say Brett ruled. To kids in the golden era.... Hogan was wrestling. Little technicians are boring. Give me the charismatic monsters.
Never was really a Hogan fan. I felt his matches were very predictable and boring. 1 tear shirt. 2 poorly sell. 3 eye gouge. 4 start to get beat down but then feed off the crowd. 5 wag finger. 6 beat opponent down. 7 leg drop. There I have told you how what 95% of Hogan matches were like.
I never even considered how Bret Hart putting over Yokozuna for Yokozuna to put over Hogan in 5 seconds was the Montreal Screw Job BEFORE the Montreal Screw Job existed. I can’t be the only one…how did we miss that? It actually makes Shawn Michaels less of the bad guy… if HBK knew how much Vince was in favor of screwing anyone BUT Hogan… the Montreal Screw Job may not have happened lol
If all this is true, it’s too bad hogan was like that. That said however, these folks can shoot all the hate they want, can hate hogan as much as you want, hogan is the reason Bret and a lot of guys since have what they do. Doesn’t excuse hogans behaviors at times. But it’s true.
Ive always been and will always be one of Hulk's biggest fan. I know how he is as a person but you have to remember he came up in a different time in wrestling. He became a dick to survive the business. Decades of that behavior can't be untaught.
Hogan leaving was probably the best thing that ever happened to WWE. Considering how Hogan actively helped crater WCW and TNA in the following years, he has no place to speak. Hogan was about himself. He didnt give 2 f**ks about the business. He just wanted money, fame and control.
Hogan somehow is viewed as a villian for not putting people over clean in the middle of the ring BUT how many people did Stone Cold put over clean? He refued to put over Brock freaking Lesnar! 😂 the only top dawg from pre PG era to actually put future stars over clean was THE ROCK! 🤷♂️
As popular as Hulk & later the Rock became I consider the face of WWF to be Andre then Bret then Stone Cold, i am sure others see it differently but that is the way I have always seen it and I was a much bigger fan of Macho Man than Hulk

"You know what I mean"! Lol...The Heart Break Kid has my same hairline but same build!! Thankfully!!! Lol DX 4 LIFE!!
lol I would hate to be bald regardless of build
@josiffexplosiff1 well Unfortunately it's all dependent upon genetics and acceptance! Also whether or not to put money towards helping your vanity or building a muscle car,! 👍😎
Bret was just too real for a lot of them!!!! We love u Bret
Vince: Keep it under your hat.
Brett: I dont wear a hat.
Vince: Ok. Keep it under your pink mirrored shades then.
I've watched Brett every time he was in Ontario lmao, he even gave me his glasses like he always did.... he's 100% His whole family is into it... it's not fake
Hogan made a great champion for the 80's era that he dominated, his over the top almost cartoon hero personality perfectly fit the times, but once 80's culture was replaced by the 90's it was an entirely different world.
"I got paid more losing to Hulk than I ever did winning against someone else" The end.
I'm glad you got paid well when you worked with Hogan, Unfortunately, it sounds like Brett didn't get to work with him because Hogan was afraid of putting him over.
Bret has always been such a stand up guy. He’s a wwe legend 👏
There's some insane personalities in the wrestling world
Shawn was looking jacked!
"They're all trying to take me down, brother!" - Hogan, probably
The irony that he buried his own reputation is not lost on anyone 😂
I love that Bret hart takes no shit from anybody. He’s so straight laced and blunt
Not gonna work for me brother. 😂😂😂
Its hard to say who was the best wrestler in the day! Just lov3d the show
Should of called this the "That doesn't work for me brother" compilation.
Shawn -
Beats around the bush, gives you pieces slowly
Brett -
No F's given, the whole truth!!!
Well, pretty the same was in 1986 against Jake 'the Snake' Roberts vs Hogan... Back then they tried and the crowd cheered: "DDT, DDT!" They did 2 matches and a couple of Snakepit interviews (also one when Jake DDT-ed Hogan) The whole feud was be cancelled and the only thing you can see on RUclips is a little 20 second clip of a match between Jake and Hogan... It's a shame!
Shawn is looking jacked.
this was awhile ago but yea he stays tv ready in case he's needed. HBK is my all time fav
Some people say bret is angry and bitter. But when he talks i believe everything he says. I like listening to brets stories
I cant even picture red n yellow early 90s hogan dropping that belt like that
Bret you should run for Mayor of Calgary. So many of us would vote for you! Love you! 🩷🖤🩷🖤🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
hbk and Ziggler selling is the exact line I would say between brilliant selling vs overselling.
I guess I was wrong, not what transpired, Eric is a very intelligent guy!
hulk showed what a jerk he was in Awa
Bret Heart wines too much.
I found my new ned time routine
WCW WAS THE BEST. PEAK OF ALL WRESTLING HISTORY.
Has Brett Hart ever smiled in his entire life
yes
Unlike Michaels he didn't lose it...
When he reunited the Hart Foundation and hugged Bulldog and Owen in the ring in April 1997. Heel smile. Heel move. Classic.
He used to smile a lot . He cannot anymore due to suffering from a stroke .
@@bencochrane267hahaha, I live in his hometown and know several family members. Not a smiley bunch overall, but Brett is the least smiley of the bunch!!lol. He is actually a stiff cardboard cutout of himself.
I love Hogan , I love Pro Wrestling, I love Bret , these are issues within the industry, no reason to hate a person I don't know.
hulk is Right. Brett wasn't in his league. Brett was 100 times better than whiny hulk
Hulk is the biggest star wrestling has ever known. More merch, more fans, biggest tv ratings. There isn’t anyone on the roster today that could carry his luggage. Brett was an amazing technical wrestler, but he was nowhere near as “over “ as Hulk.
@@jimpryor99you can make an argument for The Rock
Hogan was and still is an absolute tool. Saying Bret wasn't in his league. 😂 Bret could wrestle rings around the gas filled leather looking ass. Period.
Wow, you get 2 guys for this entire segment, who actually wrestled HH (1 of them twice!!), and Eric (we all know that story).
How about getting 5-10 wrestlers, who actually tell their truth?
He snitched on 'The Body'
Brett i always liked you, but if Vince changed the champion it was because the money was not there. Hulk may have been a jerk, but he was a money maker.
Bret should of realized with how many times Vince lied to him that Vince was going to screw him over. He always chose guys like HBK or Hogan over Bret.
Vince deserve Bret
Bret doesn’t lie and he doesn’t sugar coat anything. The exact opposite of Hogan.
No surprise really. As bischoff said, for a long time Hogan was the biggest universal name next to Mohammed Ali. That would be hard for anyone to let go, human ego
Brett Hart is a legend, SHARP SHOOTER 🎉🎉
God Bless You Bret !!! 💪
I didn't realise that the term putting someone over in wrestling means enhancing another wrestlers reputation.
Hogan was fantastic for the business, in his moment. Vince hung on to him, almost for too long. Everything in the world has a shelf life.
Bischoff is still the world's biggest Hulkamaniac, dude.
I have never heard hogan say, imply, or even hint that Brett hart taught him anything when he first started out. Brett seems to think he did.
You really think Hogan would admit that?
To be fair, for the longest time Hogan was synonymous with professional wrestling so in the eyes of the fans anyone else was just a backup player. So you can’t really fault Hogan for feeling that way.
Damn, I thought it said,
'Wrestlers SHOOT HULK HOGAN!'
But I'll listen anyway...😁😁😁
If Vince is the boss how can Hulk or Brett say they wont do what Vince says?
Hollywood is Hogan's best incarnation IMO
I wonder what type of “help” Bret gave Hogan…..
Never saw WCW as southern. The style was faster.
Pre-WCW, when it was Crockett, I always considered very Southern. The furthest that they'd go up North was Maryland.
It was Atlanta based, that's as Southern as it gets.
Exactly right
All the match rating nerds will disagree and say Brett ruled.
@@MichaelMedici61W2Bret didn't draw a ton of money though, they were in a huge down swing.
I love Bret Hart more and more every time I hear him speak.
I know what you mean, Shawn
Hogan told Bret That his Father's favourite tag team was the Hart Foundation lol
As a wrestler hogan can't hold Hart's Jockstrap
That and the fact the Hulk was not that much of a wrestler to begin with
Ive always been and will always be one of Hulk's biggest fan. I know how he is as a person but you have to remember he came up in a different time in wrestling. He became a dick to survive the business. Decades of that behavior can't be untaught.
That doesn't work for me brotha!
You know its hard to find someone that Bret doesn't call a piece of shit :D
I have no clue what Shawn Michaels was going on about… I watched it twice 🥴🤣
Being THE age they were marketing to at the time, I DEFINITELY did NOT "want to see Bret vs Hogan"...
Bret was a huge star but Hulk was the star, that’s reality 😳
I always liked The Hit Man
Me too
Someone tell Conrad that After WM9 their was a uk tour
The bottom line is, Hogan was never a wrestler. He was a poser.
He didn't have any legitimate wrestling moves, just slams and leg drops.
Brett hart straight out with how he feels. Shaun Michaels mumbling like a punch drunk who darent upset anyone
I bet every single story that Bret tells about Hulk starts with “I remember his dad was a big fan of the Hart foundation” lmfao
Hogan was right -Shawn and bret tanked the business , he knew it , Vince should have known it
Hogan leaving was probably the best thing that ever happened to WWE. Considering how Hogan actively helped crater WCW and TNA in the following years, he has no place to speak. Hogan was about himself. He didnt give 2 f**ks about the business. He just wanted money, fame and control.
Shawn, we know what you mean.
Never lost to hogan at wrestlemania. The boss lied to Brett because no one with real status would lose the belt to Brett
As popular as Hulk & later the Rock became I consider the face of WWF to be Andre then Bret then Stone Cold, i am sure others see it differently but that is the way I have always seen it and I was a much bigger fan of Macho Man than Hulk
Bill Watts got fired for racist comments, get Hulk Hogan on the line.
