I thought their romance made sense. The tension was there throughout the series, but Jane couldn't move on until after Red John. Their romance was more believable than most other tv romances.
She was never supposed to be a character that takes over. She was a supporting character for Jane who already knew who she was. A down to earth character that was suppose to end up grounding him. Totally different from Beckett who was ment to be a character that you follow her journey.
On the surface is a man pulling a prank on his coworker. Underneath is a man trying to stall his best friend from leaving because he's lonely and wants her to stay and spend time with him. There's love in most of his antics towards her: he can't express it any other way when Red John is still alive.

Jane is such a child in this scene esp when he replies to Lisbon request to get the box opened. 'you seem a little obsessed by our status, we're alive whereas the guy who made this is dead'. Lisbon then replies as if to a child "tomorrow morning". Then when he eventually gets it open he takes Lisbons keys from her bag and locks them in the box. I admire Lisbons patience with him.....😅
Just fail to understand why some people are unable to see the chemistry of Jane n Lisbon ; the attraction was there right from episode one , they became best friends in the course of time and eventually realised they were harbouring love for each other …… Their pairing has been well received by audience and everyone was elated by their marriage at the end ; never understand why a small group of people act like they did nt see romance….
If you ever watch it, the show ends with the finale of season 3. The show changes so drastically and goes downhill so fast after that point I refuse to acknowledge the existence of the rest.

The puzzle box was not evidence. Only the thing that was inside it was. Ofcourse, since Liz had no way of knowing what was inside it, breaking it was still risky, because it could have potentially broken the evidence piece inside it as well. To be clear, I'm talking about the order she gave to Chang to break the box, not the part where she smashed it with a hammer. At that point, the box was just a novelty item and breaking it was irrelevant to the case, at that time.
