I have loved this stew for many years, but my brother is allergic to peanuts. I've thought about trying it with other nut butters, but didn't do the experiment until your video inspired me. I used 1/2 cup cashew butter and 1/4 cup dark sesame paste. It was wonderful. Thank you!
We live in Russia. It's winter. Some of the ingredients you can never buy here, some are very expensive in winter (all vegetables except onions). So, I'm just watching.
Wow I love this. I make a lot of stews. Looks delicious and might have to make it today. Thanks for showing people how diverse and delicious vegan meals can be. You don’t need to eat animals and support factory farms to eat amazing food. In fact, quite the opposite.
I love any recipe that's peanut or peanut butter based, and collards and kale are my favourite greens because they are still have some bite after they're cooked, and don't wilt down to nothing like spinach. So, this recipe definitely goes on the "must try" list!! 😋
I've been wanting to make African peanut stew for 6 months, bit couldn't find a vegan recipe that sounded comparable to the traditional recipes. This was simple and easy to make. Beyond delicious. Added it officially to the recipe rotation.
Your recipes always come at the perfect time when I’m trying to plan what to meal prep and the recipes are always so good. I also enjoy the running joke of where the mini whisk will pop up
I absolutely love your channel. I am not vegan, however I aspire to be some day and this is the first vegan meal that I’ve cooked and it’s amazing! Thank you😊
Thanks so much, Andrew. I love everything about this recipe and your explanation. Sending to my dairy free niece and to my son, who is learning how to cook for himself. Just fabulous! Content, production, music, everything.
I made this substituting what I had in the house: Mixed peppers, cumin seeds briefly toasted, red potatoes, red lentils, crushed tomatoes, jalapeño, and kale. 😂 I left out the additional heat but I may add a little sriracha. I’m eating it with brown rice and it. is. DELICIOUS. 👍🏿 New subscriber; looking forward to trying more of your recipes!
I made this for dinner tonight and it is one of the most flavorful delicious stews I have ever had ! Once I got all the spices this recipe was super easy to make. Will definitely keep making it. Also first time trying collard greens… sooo good.
It's a cool, grey day here in SoCal, perfect for stew, so I thought I would try this. OH-EM-GEE! I can't quite find the words for how much I loved it. We went back for seconds in my household. It's safe to say it was a huge hit. I made my stew with sweet potatoes, cannellini beans, carrots and celery. I didn't use the garbanzo beans because they don't play nice with my digestive system, but I used everything else in the recipe. So freaking amazing! And it's just going to get better as it sits, so we'll be eating it again tomorrow. Anybody thinking about trying it, needs to go for it. You will not be disappointed.
Omg, I finally got around to trying this. Used what I had, Tuscan kale and served it with cilantro lime rice. This will be in our regular rotation, for sure, it was amazing. Thank you!
Hey, I just found your channel and I have to say that I really enjoy your presentation style. Watching the recipe being put together first, and then some good commentary about how to cook it with a couple of options is a great way to bring your audience into the whole dish. At least, it is a great way for me. Keep up the good work, and thank you.
I've been incorporating more vegan/vegetarian meals into my diet lately (I still consume animal products and meat regularly). I love your channel because you're not preachy about the way you eat. You make cooking vegan/vegetarian meals so approachable and legitimately delicious. I made this stew today and it's sublime.
I just made this last night, and OMG it is fabulous! Perfect winter comfort food, and a great kind of re-set meal to help get back into the habit of healthier eating after the decadence of the holidays.
What’s up Andrew, I finally tried making two of your recipes, and both were absolutely delicious. My Family is ready to accept more vegan meals. Now that they have tasted the food that I’ve cooked from your recipes, they love it! In my perspective, the food is healthier, less expensive, and so easy and fast to make. Thank you, please keep putting out those gorgeous videos.
I can just smell this in my imagination, and if I didn’t have a kid with peanut (and cashew and sesame) allergy, I’d love to make this and eat it for a week. We might be able to do something with soybeans and pecans and pecan butter.
I’ve made three recipes from your channel and I have to say just simply amazing!! The black bean tacos, sun dried tomato sauce on pasta and don’t forget the chick pea baguette sandwich 😋😋🥰🥰 so much love god bless 🫶
Goodafternoon andrew what can i say another delicious 😋 looking meal 😊i think i could eat this without having to blend it I'll leave nuts out ...can't wait for another delicious dish❤🎉😊
Oh my....I can't wait to be home after the holidays and make this dish..... beautifully prepared. Thank you. Happy Holidays to you and your beautiful family.
Love this! Hits all the spots and I have it all, except the kale or collards, which is easy enough to get. Do have some frozen spinach though which would be an easy sub. Crazy baby whisk adventures. Hoping to get this in the mix for this week….or today. Think leftovers would freeze? Single vegan here in a sea of carnivores, so unsure if they’d be as willing to eat….but they all love peanut butter then too. Thanks Andrew! Another hit for the week….🙏🏻🫶🏻✌🏻🎄 Happy Christmas!
🙌🏾 freezing stews with potatoes usually will cause the potatoes to lose a bit of its texture and structure. since this stew i am recommending cooking the potatoes until super soft, the structure may not matter but maybe the will texture will bit grainy. you could always make 1/2 the recipe and have minimal leftovers. 🙏🏾❤️ Happy Christmas right back at you!
I licked my bowl, it was sooo good. 😊 Also, my dog insisted on being in the kitchen the entire time this was cooking because…peanut butter!!!! 😂 Thank you - such a delicious recipe.
Cooked this today and it is our new favorit recipe. (All your recipes are amazing though!) Merry Christmas to you and your family and everybody else! 🌲
Made this today(Dec21). This recipe is easy and the taste is great. I tried it as written but I did cut back on the pepper. Unfortunately can't do hot pepper.
Suas receitas ficam incríveis! Ainda bem que tem tradução em português para que eu possa ler e fazer aqui! Moro no Brasil em um estado que chama Minas Gerais. Obrigada por suas receitas! Obrigada
Hi! I’m not vegan, neither my wife or my son, but we all enjoy your recipes. Unfortunately in Hungary i can’t buy all ingredients you are using, and some spices i.e.: coriander is not really compatible with our tastebuds. Luckily i have enough experience to freestyle a bit. You opened doors for us we didn’t know that existed. For that I’m thankful! And btw, this food is amazing, so are your videos!
Not a vegan but definitly vegetarian, i've just found your channel & have watched two of your creations, man, do they look good, thankyou & happy new year to you & yours, ric, ontario canada. Please keep 'em comming.
I love your recipes.. I've made several.. but I challenge you to make something of a different color.. all your recipes tend to be this color.. although extremely delicious I'd love to see some variety from you.. sincerely a long time viewer ❤
The same color doesn't bother me he uses many spices that are dark and delicious 😋 I've made his tomato soup 😋 if you haven't made it's really good I've made it 4 times😊
Thanks for the feed back! You know, I had this same thought a while back. I started digging into more resources only to see that unless you are eating raw foods, most cooked food ends up just about the same color. Usually this hue, shade or tint of yellow, orange, red or brown. Ill for sure keep exploring and learning in hopes to continue to provide more variety. thanks again! ❤️
I am not a vegetarian, but I really like these meals and the host: talented, smart, funny, and these veggie meals seam delicious even for a non-vegetarian person.
Do so appreciate your talks at the end with all of the possible substitutions and how they will affect the final product. It is very much appreciated.
🙏🏾❤️

I’ve made this about 4 times already and it’s a family favorite. Even my picky 2 year old can’t turn this one down. Thanks for the amazing recipes!
It looks fantastic! 👌 Thanks a lot! 💝
I am vegetarian in 30 years now but it is always cool learning something new...
Cheers!
I just made this yesterday and I’ve never been able to mow good lentils, even my picky kid ate it ❤️❤️

Hi! Are you using canned chickpeas here or did you soak them beforehand? Thanks
Just made this and it’s 🔥
Thoughts on substituting the peanut butter for PB2?
Question: Can I use sunflower seed butter if I have an eater who is allergic to peanuts and peanut butter!?
Always skin on 🤘🏻
Omg! Mouthwatering!
🙏🏾❤️
I love spicy food but I have to consider others so can I skip the Serrano pepper or would this compromise the flavor?
Looks Aaaaamazing!
yes Sir my fav
I'm not sure about the peanuts. But I'd love to make this stew
VERY VERY INNOVATIVE! Thank you so much.
What portable burner are you using?

I just watched a video of some African lady ranting that “THERES NO SUCH THING AS A WEST AFRICAN PEANUT STEW. WE EAT PEANUT SOUP 😡” lol
Hi just made this stew mmmmmmmmmmmm. Can I freeze this please
Yes, this freezes great. I froze some in 1 cup portion-sized cubes. Microwaved great. With a wet paper towel on top, to catch those explosions. 😊
I love your recipes.. I've made several.. but I challenge you to make something of a different color.. all your recipes tend to be this color.. although extremely delicious I'd love to see some variety from you.. sincerely a long time viewer ❤

I replaced the sweet potatoes with regular potatoes and added chicken stock and chicken breast cutlets for even better flavor
