I think you eventually pop out on a cross country trail. I went out that once and ended up wrapping with some confused XC skiers and walked back (snowboard)
it looks like the bear mountain quad was closed, and so you had to take the skye peak express. my question is did you have to hike to get to the top of devil's fiddle? or is it easy to get to the top of devil's fiddle from the skye peak quad?
It's a bit of a trudge but not terrible. Either you have to traverse to OL Express then go uphill or walk uphill from the Bear Trax/Ridgeview traverse. It seems that sometimes they run Bear Mountain Quad midweek and sometimes they don't. Maybe once OL gets fully blown on the snowmaking...
I assume it was closed because it wasn't being used much. The location of the loading area is slightly uphill from the Bear Mountain lodge so people didn't gravitate towards it even when BMQ and Skye Peak were jam packed. It was only useful if you came down the Fiddle or what used to be the Falls Brook Trail (now Bear Cub). Usually when a lift is closed they take it out and use it elsewhere on the mountain or sell it to another ski area. Not sure what happened here... @@jackricketts7025
But why have they left the towers?! Never seen an operating ski area do that. Gives it an abandoned feeling. I think the Northeast Passage towers are still there too... wtf? @@pinnacleskier0552

Lol I went down that today as well I thought it was open since there was no sign there was some decent snow but some gnarly areas
