In my eyes, you're just the best at this. The visuals, your words, the watches -- it's real good. And to your point about the Nomos appearing larger than its specs, especially due to its lug length, I have to say it's the one aspect that's kept me from owning 2 or 3. And even though my IWC Spitfire Chrono spans nearly the same width, I love wearing it, because it's not trying to be small or thin. It's like, I've accepted I'm wearing a large watch and I'm going to wave it around and have fun. With Nomos, and any thin watch for that matter with long lugs, I feel the latter negates the former. Like, ya it's sitting flush on top of my wrist, but it's also pouring over the sides. It just doesn't look proportional to my eyes. Oh well, though. Those are my eyes and it's my wrist. Beautiful watch nonetheless and a fantastic watch company.
Unabashedly honest, witty, and informative video as always! I was looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this watch and you did not disappoint. Might have to pick one up myself 🤠
I know most people are upset with the size but I have 8 1/4" wrist so for me it's nice to see a company like nomos making a watch that I can wear!! And just to sum it up dude you're a badass love you reviews. killing it!!!
Excellent review! I was in the six last week and tried one on. Wow at this price point it is great value for money. The bracelet didn't have the play that yours did, and the 10mm thickness is perfect.
Love your work and your sense of humor. Beating the Sub by 4 feet of water resistance comment was hilarious. Also I love a date window!!! Those watches without a date just bum me OUT!! I feel like a damned fool every time i look down for a date and get zoinked by my Tudor no dates. Good watches have a date.
I love NOMOS' design language, I just wish they weren't so obsessed with ridiculously long lugs. The Tangente/Tangomat, as well as the Ludwig would all be so much more appealing with shorter lugs.
Back in the early 2000 when I was studying to become a watchmaker (WOSTEP 2001-2004) a couple of guys including myself was really into NOMOS (back then a true newbie brand) and we all said the same thing. "This would be an almost perfect watch if they just got this space between case and strap sorted. And also maybe added a bracelet but that´s not the real issue". Well 20 years later we´ve got the bracelets but those infinity lugs still remain.
I think we all hold the same sentiment about Nomos design flaws. From a brief conversation through their website's chat function, it came down to a matter of trading off wider but thinner movements, rather than having thicker watches with reasonable lugs. Honestly, I think it was the worst decision they could have invested into.
Came home an hour or so ago with a new Aqua Terra ( yay) -immediately watching more watch videos ( sad) but I’m glad I did. That’s a killer look right there. That movement 🤩 I’ll send a donation to the Red Cross for that clasp.
@@michaelfierman3256 my favourite is the small seconds blue dial steel steel wich I hope to get before the end of the year also do you know if you can add omegas textured rubber straps on to it and if so how much of an extra cost
Their traditional designs left me cold but the new additions to the Club range, especially the smaller end, are catching my attention. Great example of why dial diameter is a more important dimension than case size, and changes with complexity
Just got mine and.....WOW. Took a bit to size, but got it just right with the micro-adjustments. Not as easy as I thought it would be, but got it done. As a point of possible clarification, NOMOS does indeed "provide the tools to adjust" the watch on the site for purchase, but they aren't included with the watch. You didn't say exactly that, but just incase anyone got that impression. Anyway, I also have a 7" wrist and I can say I have zero complaints about the fit, finish and overall aesthetic (I like the long lugs and the bracelet does indeed help with the perceived length). I was nervous about this purchase having never seen one in person, but you're incredible video helped me to decide it turned out to be a really nice experience. Lastly, yeah, that poor poor clasp. Never had a chance. 🙏🏼
I like Nomos. When I still worked in Glashütte I had the chance to visit the manufactury. However, i think they should have made this model one size smaller. Even on your wrist it looks a bit bloated. I think it has to do with that massive polished bezel, like on the Explorer 214270. Nice video! Greetings Sebastian
As usual, a great fashion advertisement accessorized by new and interesting watches. Can't wait to see the jacket or sweater when Nomos releases the 38-40mm Club Sport on bracelet.
What a nice looking watch! Cannot wait for this bracelet to be available for other Clubs. Especially thinking about the future Orange Club with that bracelet.
Fantastic review. You have THE best watch channel. My favorite. Lukewarm on this watch. I like a lot of what Nomos is doing though. Several elements to like on the design.
Indeed a 52 mm lug to lug is to large for me as well (Black Bay Red Tudor fits well) Dia 40/42 mm is ideal. I will buy it in a slightly smaller version. Bracelet accuracy has to approve better.
I cannot help but notice that the date numbers in the date window seem to be left aligned rather than centered; even in the comparison shot with the Breitling those numbers seem to be slightly to the left as well, however on the Nomos it is quite glaring due to the size of the date window itself. If you ask me it touches too close to the edge of the dial and could be shortened. What do you think about this? I cannot stop looking at it! OK at 3:47 I can see the egde of the disc and that the date window extends beyond that - totally ruined the watch for me!
I picked up on that oddity regarding the date window too. Not sure why Nomos would execute the date window in this manner, but this is definitely a dealbreaker for my ocd. I actually prefer my watches with date windows, but only if they are executed with care and attention.
I can tell you- I've seen this Neomatic in a large case surrounded by other watches. The Nomos seemed to jump visually from the other pieces. Very, very attractive and distinctive "in the metal".
The size is humongous...have the original 36 mm which wears already relatively large due to the long lugs, but 42 x 52 mm is just insane for the trusty old club...38 or 39 mm would be the absolute limit for me on the club.
I’m a bracelet man so I was excited to see this but the dimensions make my 6.5” wrist weep. The 52mm lug-to-lug is what kills me. I can happily rock a 42mm SKX007 but 52mm lug-to-lug? What the hell, guys?
Having tried this on, although the dial is dominant, it actually wears smaller than I thought it would. As long as your wrist can handle the lug to lug length, the watch wears tight and comfortable. The fact that it’s only 10mm thick is the main reason, I think. I didn’t think I would consider this because of the size, but after wearing it, I may buy it. It’s slick.

Lovely watch. No such things as perfection except in the eye of the beholder, so to speak. To me this is close. The shiny clasp would be completely covered in visible, fine scratches within a week on my wrist! But it would also look great on brown leather.

@@YoureTerrific I feel you. Most of the time it's me who doesn't get it. Thanks again for the review. I was unaware of Nomos launching this particular model.
I like the size because more is better for my over 65 eyes. The bracelet is super flashy but really it won't look good all scratched up and it will be eventually. I just got a Marathon because I like to be able to read in the dark. I also prefer quartz for function. I won't spend over a grand on any watch at my age.
I think this watch does an excellent job in one highly specific market: The "One watch collection" person-- This is a watch for any occasion. It can swim, and it can dress both up and down. Very impressive piece.
No I completely agree with you. This nomos vs the aquaterra I’d take this nomos over it ESPECIALLY if the lugs were smaller. I discovered the aqua terra while looking for underrated (at the time) solid everyday watches, loved it, but when I saw it in person at an AD unfortunately it felt underwhelming
A Omega Aqua Terra does not have a micro adjustment clasp.... for me and many others that's a deal breaker. You should do a video about micro adjustment clasps and why we need m.
Another awesome Nomos that will look too big on my 7" wrist. 42mm case with those long Nomos lugs? Forget it. What a shame. There's a reason the 39mm BB58 receives so much praise.
Last year, I bought a nomos with an in-house movement which ran 15 seconds fast every day. I bought from an AD and they told me to contact Nomos, so I did and Nomos told me that it was within specification. Being a manufacturer of in-house movements doesn't mean much if the performance is low. So regarding performance, I'd rather have the aqua terra. I love Nomos watches, but that first experience kind of ruined the brand for me. Great video as always!
That's interesting, Nomos used to advertise 0 to +5 and advertise this movement as chronometer accurate. I've owned a few Nomos (still do) and they are all well within Cosc.
I think the thinness of the case should allow more people to wear it: I didn't think too much of the 42mm * 52mm watches with my 11~12mm thick quartz pieces but the 14.5mm mechanical chronograph made the watch look and feel huge. If it were 40mm I think this would have been my next watch for sure though. - Han
This is the first Nomos that I actually like, except for the polished center links. I'm hard on my watches and those links and clasp would look like garbage in short order.
That is a gorgeous watch, but happily a bit too big for me. Happily because I don't need another watch on the list. A watch with "sport" in the title should maybe have fewer polished surfaces, though. I very much enjoy your videos.
I'm new to your channel, but don't they now have a 39 mm? Maybe you should do one on that, but maybe you did and I haven't seen it😊 I'm not a big bracelet guy but I think that looks really sharp. I'm also a huge fan of Nomos so it's kind of a crazy combination. I wonder what that watch would look like if you swapped it out for a strap? Anyway I might be speaking nonsense since you might have done a video on the 39 mm and have tried it out on a strap. But what the hell do I know?
Beautiful watch. I just don't understand why they don't put a timing bezel on it. Can't be difficult. It's already so "diver". And the day they introduce a chronograph is probably the day I'll buy a Nomos.
I am dead set on a Glashütte watch (after getting my dream Omega) though I cannot say if it will be a SeaQ Panorama Date or one of these cheerful Nomos(es)
Not a fan of this Nomos I prefer their other offerings and for that money I would get something else, and 'yes' the watch would look a lot better without the date window. Great objective review !

I'm not a big bracelet guy but I think that looks really sharp. I'm also a huge fan of Nomos so it's kind of a crazy combination. I wonder what that watch would look like if you swapped it out for a strap?
Anyway I might be speaking nonsense since you might have done a video on the 39 mm and have tried it out on a strap. But what the hell do I know?
Agree on the date! Love the big date but not a fan of the far right placement.
I'm a big NOMOS fan and not much of an Omega fan, but in this case I'd definitely have the Aqua Terra.
Thoughts and prayers for the clasp.
🙏
Beautiful watch. I just don't understand why they don't put a timing bezel on it. Can't be difficult. It's already so "diver". And the day they introduce a chronograph is probably the day I'll buy a Nomos.
I keep thinking that’ll happen sometime.
I am dead set on a Glashütte watch (after getting my dream Omega) though I cannot say if it will be a SeaQ Panorama Date or one of these cheerful Nomos(es)
Is the lume significantly better than other Club models?
Really innovative with the safety clutch for the date change but dang that date window and lugs are ridiculous. 💔
Not a fan of this Nomos I prefer their other offerings and for that money I would get something else, and 'yes' the watch would look a lot better without the date window. Great objective review !
