    Lyrics:
    Oo it must be magic
    How inside your eyes
    I see my destiny
    Every time we kiss
I feel you breathe your love so deep inside of me
If the moon and stars should fall
    They'd be easy to replace
I would lift you up to heaven
And you would take their place
    Then I saw red
When I opened up the door
    I saw red
My heart just spilled onto the floor
And I didn't need to see his face
    I saw yours
I saw red when I closed the door
I don't think I'm gonna love you anymore
    Everyday I wake up
I thank God that you are still a part of me
We've opened up the door to which
So many people never find the key
And if the sun should ever fail to send its light
We would burn a thousand candles
    And make everything alright

Jani Lane was such an unbelievable talent in so many ways. His vocal range was quite impressive and he was also a master with lyrics. We often don't appreciate someone until they are gone forever and then it's too late. I believe that he wrote from the heart and had so much pain and heartache that words came naturally to him. He had demons that eventually pushed him to the end and it is truly sad that he wasn't able to get help in time to prevent this death. He left us with a wonderful gift, his music and his memories. We honor him when we play his music and remember the good times when we were younger. If you know of anyone that is having emotional issues or thoughts of suicide, please seek help for them and try to be there for them.

She couldn’t get rid of him (why? she had several friends and family she could stay with), so she drank until it killed her. If only we could fold back time, and right past wrongs. Sing with Joy, Maureen, wherever you are. 💙

Yes I totally agree. I am a 80s teen who went to 67 concerts from 85 to 95 with my long hair and my girlfriend putting on my eyeliner for every single concert and I always wore my warrant shirt to every concert so that all my favorite hair bands would see the face of jani lane with the shirts i bought for each band tided around my waist as I was rocking out at the stage. I loved axle rose and skid row and Cinderella and every single band that is now called hair bands. But warrant was in a whole class of thier own and jani lane and axle changed my life and are still pulling me out of darkness and depression with singing and writing from their hearts. Thanks again jani for all your talent and love u shared in every song I have in my heart still

Afterward, the band went to the NCO club and just hung out with some of the troops (it was a small AF base). My buddy said he spent most of the night talking to Jani about anything and everything and found him to be really down to earth. My friend said most of the young guys didn't even know who they were, but being an 80s rocker, he did and that's one reason why they clicked.

Yep, Jani had a really beautiful voice and aura. But PRINCE will ALWAYS be the best of the best in every way. Voice 6 octaves. Huge master musician, self taught by age 12. PURE GENIUS !! AND Warrent knew to get themselves to Paisley where PRINCE himself recorded their demo which led to a signing with Columbia. All this was/is on Jani's Instagram where he wrote, "so awesome" PRINCE passed stating "lead singer can't dance ". TOO FUNNY ! 🤣 🎶 ✌️💜

This song carries a lot of weight for me. From witnessing my mother cheat on my dad with my sisters ex.......yep......to my dad abandoning me when I was 15......it is such a powerful tell all from my youth.
I'm 51 now and have tried to move on. Those wounds are still there. Yep, I've tried my best to suck it up and be tough. I did, I joined the Marine Corps infantry and was ready to rock and roll at a moments notice but when time catches up with you, and it will eventually, you have to face those demons head on. They come for you whenever you least expect it. Doesn't matter to them, when you're at your lowest or highest, they come. It's the true mark of a man that is the end result. Do you give into them or do you fight them off accepting no quarter? I've decided to accept no quarter and will not give up. Those of you that may be in the same boat, follow me!

man it breaks my heart to see so many of our favorite artists that we have listened to, pass away from being broken. whether it's depression, being used by record companies for their own profit, drugs, alcohol, loneliness. A lot of them were ripped off by record companies they signed contracts with. too. it's a fact that these artists and their families didn't get the royalties they deserved. The music industry popularity changed drastically in the '90's. this is 1 reason why I love you tube, (even tho it's censored), because we fans get to experience our favorite music again, new fans can hear it too & it shows how much we love our music. Even if there is a power failure, rock and roll will never die.

Warrant was not one of my favorite hair metal bands back in the day but I have come to appreciate Jani Lane over the years. He sings with such emotion, I feel every word. I have a new appreciation for them

What's really funny is that back in the early 90s I hated these "hair bands" because I thought their crappy music was taking over. But now (about 25 years later) I love this stuff because it is so campy and takes me back to my youth.

+Dash Riprock Yeah, I think I get what you mean. I remember back in the day (in early 90s) we considered these bands (Warrant, Winger, Bonfire, Motley Crue, Skid Row, Poison, Great White, Tesla, etc.) as "girl's bands", "pink rock" and things like that... Now I love this stuff also because I see that many of these bands indeed played quite well and this music takes me back to my youth either.
      RIP Jani Lane.

When you listen to this song you can hear the pain. You can feel it. The quality of the song writing is phenomenal. The music of this time was visual. This is a powerful yet simple song that carries you with the words. I know generations younger than me have their artists and bands that they feel this way about, but I hope they take time to experience songs like this as well.

Ya know I once met a dude in the Barrowlands in Glasgow who said he used to do gig management in the 80s so he got to meet a lot of the glam metal guys. He said that some of them were massive dicks and hard to work with but when Warrant came Jani was like the nicest person ever and bough all the crew pizzas and beer and hung around with fans for AGGESS. Said he even gave an acoustic guitar to some kid. He said he had seen his death in the paper and was pretty upset cos he remembered that he was a super nice person and when he was doing some DJing for another Glasgow venue put this song and Heaven on as a sorta person tribute. Always remembered that story cos it makes me think of him as more human and not just another singer in a band who had problems with booze :\ Felt like sharing that.

Peter Werninck I always heard of his generosity & that he never let his fame make him forget his fans. He was a gentle but troubled soul. May he be watching over us all and resting in peace

Peter Werninck , John was a great person. I partied with him quite a few times in the early 90's. Saw him laugh, and saw him cry. Pretty fucking sad how he died.

While I do believe Jani was a nice guy, you can't just blanket musicians as dicks because they don't stop to appease everyone who starts asking them questions. The time of day simply doesn't exist to be "nice" to everyone. There's a lot to get done (and not just drugs and booze) when you're touring. You really have to blame the game there, not the player.

I love the interview(think it was sometime in the 90s) where he says "there must be more to life than getting rich and getting laid...). It was so poignant and demonstrated what an old soul he was. And how he was trying to figure out this thing called life. I will always admire him for that. He seemed like a smart guy. And a lot of the metal musicians never evolved that far.
