I have a friend from Washington who works at a towing company currently recovering from knee surgery. We video chat while watching your videos and he relates some of the stories that he has had happen to him over the years. He tells me at least three times per video that he does not know how you keep so calm. He says when people start yelling he stops listening.
One of my boat customers told me he thinks the entitlement syndrome is worse since Covid, also rudeness is way more prevalent. Y'all handled it great, as usual. Y'all ROCK!

45 years of driving and only got picked up for illegal parking once. As I was paying the drop fee, the driver ask "Didn't you see the signs?" I said yep, saw them and ignored them, gambled I could get back before someone showed up to tow. Had no problem paying as I don't welsh on my bets. Never made that particular gamble again though, lol.
Last year, a neighbor asserted "everybody has had their car towed at least once." I thought that was hyperbolic, especially since I have never had my car towed, so I decided to conduct some basic research. I think my friend group encompasses a representative cross section of humanity, so I sent out about 75 emails. Out of 48 respondents, 15 folks (31%) have had their car towed at least once for parking illegally. Two were towed twice, and one was towed three times. Interestingly, based on what I know about most of my friends, I think I could have accurately predicted at least 12 of the scofflaws! From the beginning, my gut feeling was that about 1/3 of people have been towed, and my research bore that out.
I have never been towed either. I always check for signs, and even take a picture of my vehicle where it is just in case of actual scam tows(not like this guy, he is legit). Its not worth the risk of the headache and big expense, but if I did park illegally I would own up to it(albeit sadly).
Throw out that 'single mom's' card! Lots of single moms out there with a hell of a lot more dignity. If that's the worse thing that happens to you today, you're doing alright. She can't have much self respect to talk to others like that .

It just shows she made a poor sleeping partner choice that one time... And her entitled, whine-screechy attitude for HER crime scene seat, and illegal park tax may be an indicator of the responsible, irresponsible parties' fault in the relational breakdown as well. Her son seemed so laid back and respectful of his elders than his example at home.

There are folks who like to create a scene publicly so you will back down and do or give them what they want. EA is called to do a job and if they don't do the job, that business who requested removal will start calling another tow company. One good thing, you didn't have to repeat "221 NEWMAN ROAD" about 4-5 times for folks picking up the Hyundai. Let us know what happened with the large rental truck. Whenever I’m in a area like Gatlinburg with a lot of tourists, I’m almost paranoid about where I park. Even when I’m 100% sure about where I parked, I still feel like I’m going to get my car towed. Then, you’ll see people who just park on a sidewalk or in an alley without thinking a thing of it.

I was a teacher for 30 years. There’s one lesson people should learn…follow the rules and you won’t have a problem. Is that really so hard to do? We’ve visited Gatlinburg multiple times and will visit again. We park where we’re supposed to and have never gotten a ticket or gotten towed! Imagine that!

I think you should make a bumper sticker that says “ I got towed by Everything Auto” or something clever. If they customer agrees to put it on their car give them a discount.
You would think yelling at someone upon first meeting them would work out better in their favor, mind boggling. Also, I bet if you put your hand on the hood of that car it's ice cold.
As someone who has endometriosis, PCOS and a hematology condition I have been in this exact position she's claiming except it was a hockey tournament. Not alot of hockey in California so sometimes those drives are LONG with long distances between stops. When my uterus decides to recreate a murder scene it's going to happen without warning. Forget a regular schedule when you've got autoimmune and hematology issues. When it happened I parked in a disabled spot forgetting I was driving my husband's car and not mine with my disabled plate. I forgot to hang my placard and my daughter was too excited to go junk food shopping to think about it. Took me awhile to get situated and I came out to a Highway Patrol officer writing me a ticket and calling for a tow truck. I felt like an idiot forgetting the placard. The CHP officer stopped the ticket and I kept trying to say I'll take it. I broke the law do I deserved it. CHP officer told my daughter I was crazy honest 🤣 I understand putting your kid in an activity they love. Most the time it's $$$ especially when you get to travel leagues. However your kids should know such an expense is a privilege not a right. You should never put your family in a position where a few hundred will break you on a trip. What if her car died? Kid slip at the pool and broke a limb? Car broken into and the kids gear is stolen. Surly you wouldn't overextended yourself to the point an unexpected incident could leave you stranded. Regardless all her excuses are no reason to be crazy rude. Good job dealing with her.
Most hotels and motels have ATMs now. She was lying and was not taking responsibility for her actions. I am a single mom and do not play that card, ever.

I was a flight attendant. I was very helpful and accommodating if you were civil to me. You got the bare bones minimum requirements if you weren't. I'll never understand why people think bad behavior will ever be rewarded.

Then I was thinking if she can give you the money and just be done with her. Why would you drive 5hrs to a football tournament with no gas money to get back? She was never told, "NO!" by someone who meant it when she was little. A couple times over someone's knee by the time she was a toddler would likely have cured this lifelong issue she now has!

As someone who has endometriosis, PCOS and a hematology condition I have been in this exact position she's claiming except it was a hockey tournament. Not alot of hockey in California so sometimes those drives are LONG with long distances between stops. When my uterus decides to recreate a murder scene it's going to happen without warning. Forget a regular schedule when you've got autoimmune and hematology issues.
When it happened I parked in a disabled spot forgetting I was driving my husband's car and not mine with my disabled plate. I forgot to hang my placard and my daughter was too excited to go junk food shopping to think about it.
Took me awhile to get situated and I came out to a Highway Patrol officer writing me a ticket and calling for a tow truck. I felt like an idiot forgetting the placard. The CHP officer stopped the ticket and I kept trying to say I'll take it. I broke the law do I deserved it. CHP officer told my daughter I was crazy honest 🤣
I understand putting your kid in an activity they love. Most the time it's $$$ especially when you get to travel leagues. However your kids should know such an expense is a privilege not a right. You should never put your family in a position where a few hundred will break you on a trip. What if her car died? Kid slip at the pool and broke a limb? Car broken into and the kids gear is stolen. Surly you wouldn't overextended yourself to the point an unexpected incident could leave you stranded.
Regardless all her excuses are no reason to be crazy rude. Good job dealing with her.
As a single father, I have ZERO sympathy for the single mom card. I have never heard a single father ask for any sympathy

You were wayyyyy more professional than I would have been. She came at you aggressive and you still remained calm. Kudos to you. At 1st I was saying just take the car. Then I was thinking if she can give you the money and just be done with her. Why would you drive 5hrs to a football tournament with no gas money to get back? Then screaming all about the period stuff was totally unnecessary. With people like her, it's always someone else's fault. Then saying shes a single mom bs, was a plea to feel sorry for her. She was never told, "NO!" by someone who meant it when she was little. A couple times over someone's knee by the time she was a toddler would likely have cured this lifelong issue she now has!
