Connecting ps4 controller to playstation 3 tutorial
i am going to do it in two ways.
BUY PS3 after market controller HERE
1: wirelessly with ps4 and ps3 controller and usb cable.
2: with just a ps4 controller and USB cable.
NOTE: The downside to using a ps4 controller on a ps3 syetem is that the PS Button, Touch Pad, and rumble all don't work. Other then those inconveniences the controller works good.

🖒Hello Guys, I appreciate the time when you guys & girls drop a comment. If the ps4 controller works fine for you on the ps3 system. Im thinking it would be great if we could list the games that do and don't work. For example, for me GTA 5 did work but then menu access was limited and my old ps3 controller was needed at times to access it.
So i would list the game in the comments like so...
IF IT PART WORKS BUT PS3 CONTROLLER IS NEEDED FOR MENU ACCESS.
GTA - Part working - ps3 pad needed.
IF IT WORKS PERFECT
GTA - working fine.
IF IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL ON YOUR GAME.
GTA - not working.

I just got my old PS3 back from my dad. The original controllers for it are busted and I’ve been stuck using some aftermarket 360 controllers I use on my PC, and for FPS games it feels really weird cause the analog doesn’t feel like a real analog stick. It feels like it’s a analog stick on top of a D-pad.
Hopefully this’ll make it feel a bit better or at least give me full analog control

I got real excited finding out you can use DualShock 4 with your ps3 but then got sad when I found out that it doesn't work for some games & you gotta look on some list to see which games are compatible. I'm definitely gonna test out a few games to see which ones work. Thanks once again!
Please, make sure you do have a aftermarket ps3 controller handy as some games will require you to use some functions that the ps4 controller cant do. Other than that I'm glad that helped dude ✌ thanks for the comment I appreciate it
I hope if Ps5 has full backwards compatibility, we won't have to go through this with the home button not working or some games not working. Kind of a shame the home button doesn't work & not every game works but it's still awesome to use with the games that work with no problems. Thanks once again!

I use an unofficial ps4 controller it was like 35 bucks and when you connect to android device you dont get the lag that you do with the official, and it worked on pc without ds4 tool...pretty amazin controller

Thanks, i used my keyboard to get there.
You can do it with jus true PS4 controller too, just gotta use a usb cable and the PS4 controller and RIGHT after you press start scanning, take out the usb or charger from the controller and hold share and ps button, then when it shows up on the tv, connect it with usb again and select it. Then take out the usb once it says it’s connected and press ps button. It worked for me :)

Once the ps4 controller has registered/added on bluetooth wirelessly , will you have to keep registering it everytime you switch the PS3 on?

For those who want a way to still have a PS button to press without using another controller, the only thing I can think of is to get one of the PS3 blu-ray remotes and use the PS button on there..

You need a ps3 or a cheap aftermarket controller just to access the home button.
The ps4 home button will not work.

2- It isn't necesary
3- I tried with almost all my library and had no problem with any game, months ago you couldn't use it with games from Rockstar but I tried with Midnight Club Los Angeles, GTA V and Red Dead Redemtion and it worked with the three game, there's a list arround internet with the compatible games if you are interested
It only works when i move on the home screen not in the game that's the thing so i cant play a game with ps4 controller

Works on the PS3 main menu but not in game. Odd since a few years ago I tried using a PS4 controller on the same game (Need For Speed: The Run) and it worked fine.

Never played DMC games. I was a Dante infernó, God of war, Bayoneta fan.
Last year when they released the HD colection i bought it and really enjoyed the games.
DMC 5 is coming. And aparently there is a character from DMC4 that appears in the trailer. I bought the game yesterday and grabbed my ps3. But my ps3 controllers suck and didnt want to play wired.

You do know ps4 has the definitive DMC4, right?
It sucks that the PS4 controller is not fully compatible with the PS3 and that you can't use the PS button to exit out of Apps and turn on the PS3 or bring up the shutdown screen. It's a more comfortable controller than the Duel Shock because the area where you hold it is longer and more comfortable and feels more secure in your hands.

@@Kaibil66 sorry about the late reply,as within the video in question, the ps button when using the ps4 controller on a ps3 system doesn't work,you will need to have access to a ps3 controller,the sole purpose of using a ps4 controller on a ps3 is to allow better control in gameplay,but unfortunately some features in some games do require you to use certain ps3 buttons which are not accessible on a ps4 controller. A few people have commented below of a few compatible games,i hope this helps dude and thanks for the comment.😎✌

There is no way to fix it, the ps button doesn't respond when the ps4 controller is connected to a ps3, you do need the ps3 or an aftermarket ps3 controller at times for some certain options.

👍BadVibés some controls don't work with some games as stated within the video. You do still need a compatible ps3 controller to access some features. The ps4 controller used on ps4 it simply a convenient way to use a better controller on a old ps system if the old ps3 controllers are part damaged or faulty for example. For instance some car racing games do work but then to access a certain menu,you then need the old ps3 controller to access it as some buttons on ps4 controller will not work with that game..like GTA. upto now there's no way around it and no fixes I'm afraid. What game are you playing? and does it work fine with other games? It would be interesting for people in the comments to leave a list of games that do work and don't work,many thanks for your comment dude.✌

N apparently your using the wrong type of charger some chargers don’t transfer the data correctly try just buy a ps3 controller it’s on around $10-15
