    Very nice to see that GMC keeping up with the other vehicles. It wouldn't be my first choice for this type of driving, but it's good to see it is capable.

    A few friends of the Misadventure crew have actually just had a good look over the military spec G-Wagons and were incredibly impressed. Their words were 'Looks indestructible from underneath' and as specialist 4WD Mechanics I think they'd have a pretty good idea.

      The D2 has been very reliable with only a few minor issues due to wear and tear. I'll get Kev to jump on and msg you the details.

    I love the way these guys use normal sized tyres and tackle trails with skill and care. So much better than these massively lifted trucks on huge tyres that make everything pointlessly easy. Great channel, well done

      That's always been the motto - Cars we drive every day for work and touring can also do the tough stuff if driven well and with some careful technical analysis of the tracks. we don't always get it right - but we try

    Seems like the 2500 probably tears up the trail a lot more. Not really a great choice for an offroader.

      It surprised a few of us too. She's a big rig but all that mumbo under the bonnet helps.

      +sjt275 that section is all state forest mate. We are always very respectful of the Nat Parks boundaries with the dog. If i could suggest that perhaps you find a more polite way to ask about the situation and get all the facts before you jump to conclusions and give people a blast.

    I know everyone knocks it but my favourite was the GMC. Still the best truck there. Still gets anywhere and starts to tow things the others can't even go near.

    • @bmecalgary
      @bmecalgary 10 лет назад +2

      The best? I wouldn't take anything away from the GMC……… She tows well, she's reliable, but she is a bit of a fat girl on the trapeze! Did well on those tight trails though!

    • @Kaegis

      I just had a 2012 BT50 that I traded for a 76 series wagon to tow my 3.0T 22ft caravan but wanted a 2005 GMC HD 2500, 6.6 Duramax. I sold the BT because beople are already getting cracked chassis from towing the supposed "rated 3.5T towing capacity". Hardly rated at all. But sadly the 76 series is a slug as well. I am waiting till Chev open up in Australia properly as hopefully the prices come down to trade to one.

    • @bmecalgary
      @bmecalgary 10 лет назад +1

      Kaegis What's a BT50? I'm from Canada, I'm not familiar with that. I do wish Toyota would export the Land cruiser series to Canada with the diesel options, we don't have any diesel Toyota's here. As well, it would be nice to have a Cruiser just for the solid front axle.

    • @Kaegis
      @Kaegis 10 лет назад

      Ed ibleginch A BT50 is a vehicle Mazda supply but is built by Ford and is a re-badged Ford Ranger. The latest model in Aus is a 3.2L 5cylinder turbo diesel. Goes very well although a little small to tow 3.5T daily as now people are having trouble with cracked chassis. Just a race to the "capacity numbers game" with manufacturers. My Avitar is the BT50 I just traded for the 76 series Cruiser.

    • @bmecalgary
      @bmecalgary 10 лет назад

      yeah, I googled it! I wish we had access to the same vehicles you guys get! I can see why you would be interested in the GMC. They are a heavier truck with plenty of torque and power. I would love to have a 76 series Cruiser. The closest I can get is a FJ or a 4Runner, Which I have traded my 07 FJ for a 2014 4runner. But I really want a diesel!
