Why are all the male nurses I’ve ever seen that worked with me always so handsome. Like ever since I was kid the male nurses always looked good. And this is only with the nurses. It’s a really big coincidence for me.
Also some patients, like men or boys feel more comfortable with a male nurse because they feel ashamed or just shy with a female nurse. Generally speaking, yes. Male nurses tend to be more physically capable than female nurses, especially when it comes to dealing with problematic male patients.
@@MattPhonee generally speaking, women are capable of handling any patients just fine. However, a problematic male pt who is even of average size can pose a serious threat to both a male or a female nurse; certainly much more than a typical problematic female pt. With this in mind, a male nurse is typically going to be much more equipped physically than a female nurse. Male pts also act much different around other males typically, too. The average male is significantly stronger and more physically able than the average female. There’s no need to “white knight”, here. Anyone who has taken a basic biology class and or has any life experience understands this. Men are also typically more aggressive, and are also much more likely to be violent. They generally speaking have significantly more muscle mass, are taller, have a greater lung capacity, different bone density, long extremities, and just mentally run differently. and btw, no one ever even got close to suggesting that women are “incapable”. So please, take that SJW talk somewhere else. PS, I’m a woman, and love that my male counterparts are there just in case. I also have NEVER met even ONE nurse that disagrees with this stance- unless you work in some soft unit. Any type of ER, psyche, or even med surg setting, forgive me for saying this but males absolutely come in handy and I encourage more males to go into nursing.
It's actually true that male nurses and orderlies are in demand. I used to work in a state hospital in neuro-psych. We would get teen boys with severe behavioral disorders who were dangerous. Many of them were nearly twice my size. Nobody can deny that the male nurses had an easier time dealing with them, not just for physical size, but treatment compliance. And sometimes we have a patient who has animosity towards a certain gender and just interacts better with the other.
@@MattPhonee uh no lol a dangerous and out of control pt is hard to handle and it’s just a fact that men tend to be PHYSICALLY stronger and bigger than women in general.
