Omar, a lot of us got introduced to School Of Scent during Covid where you promoted perfumes on TicTok. Can you do a series where you go back and review your choices, saying whether or not you still support you past choices?
I’m 23. Antaeus is my favourite fragrance of all time and is my signature scent. I’ve been wearing it since I was 21, and I’m currently almost done with my 3rd 100ml bottle in that time! 🙂
I'm 67, so I may be older than what you'd call mature. I still love some of the fragrances from my youth. The 80's versions of Eau Sauvage and Givenchy Gentleman seemed made for me. I still love citrus styles. I wouldn't consider Fahrenheit to be a daytime fragrance; far too heavy. I'd only use it in the evening. I love, love, love Bois du Portugal, so maybe I'm changing. I also love Bois Flotté from L'Occitane en Provence.
I am 25 and i wear Antaeus.Epitome of class, masculinity. I deeply appreciate you for bringing this vintage gem to the mainstream. As for Naxos it depends on the chemistry with your skin. On my skin i couldn't bare it.But i'm sure that it can smell amazing on other pepople's skin.
First time I’ve ever heard anyone speak so highly -or at all - about ADP Oud but i have had it a couple of years and likewise think its a beautiful, classy scent
I‘m 25 years old but I also really like manly scents. I also wish that we would have more manly scents nowadays. I was searching for a new winter signature scent and I tried the antaeus a few weeks ago. Fell directly in Love, I need to buy it next month !
Love your content! thanks a lot ! I wish you could do a " I bought every xerjoff fragrances so you don't have to " 😆. That would be nice! or Amouage. I hate that in my country there is no chance to go to the store and smell the fragrances because there are no fragrance stores. Yes there are big malls where are a few niche brands but only the popular and the best selling ones. For example there is Parfums de marly, but only few best selling ones from the brand. Never seen a xerjoff bottle anywhere in a store.
There are 2 fragrances that to me are only in my opinion are masculine new and vintage scent at the same time i think oud wood is rite there as an in between scent and dior homme 2020 only covers that without being to sweet or spicy or flowery or overly citric...imo
@@LE_NOMAD90 EDT is absolutely phenomenal imo. For my next bottle though I'm thinking of going for Eau Givre just because it's an EDP and I prefer the projection of EDP's. I personally don't love the parfum concentration because it really dials back on that "dirty orange/citron" opening (which I love) and focuses on the vetiver but some people really prefer that one. I'd definitely recommend trying all 3 if possible but if that's not possible and you already know you like the EDT then I can't recommend it enough. Probably the only fragrance of my collection that I would happily wear everyday for the rest of my life if I could only pick one.
@@OBrien1510I have both the EDT and the Eau Givree. Eau Givree is great (especially for summer) but the performance of the EDT is so much better, and it just feels more...classy and sophisticated. (Not that Eau Givree isn't, it's just lighter. I think it's the lack of vetiver and the difference between orange and citron.) Love both, though. I really want to get some of the parfum just to try it out.
@@aaronthompson7330 Ah interesting. You always just assume that the higher concentration will have better longevity. I definitely wouldn't be disappointed to by another bottle of the EDT if the performance is in fact better
I bought Dylan Blue - So basic and tacky. I bought The One - Totally Unisex and no clear notes to my nose - just gives you a headache. Then Encre Nior and smelled like pencil shavings. So I decided Profumo and Profumo were the ones for me. A perfect everyday one is Ralph's Club EDP. IMO no matter what anyone says, to me it's pretty unbeatable.
I’m 46 .I like Creed Viking and Royal Oud more than Green Irish Tweed, don’t get me wrong,GIT is a beautiful scent,it’s just I find myself reaching for Viking and Royal Oud more than GIT
For some reason, to my nose Fahrenheit smells like a field of flowers to me from a distance 😂 just when i get my nose closer i get the petrol smell which i love Xerjoff Naxos just kinda ruined other fragrances that i thought were high quality, its just insane how good of a scent that is
I tend to agree with you. I absolutely love it, I wear it from time to time but prefer it on my wife. I feel more masculine wearing Dior Homme Parfum which I would throw into this category
Fascinating. Naxos comes across as very feminine to me. It smells like a lush store. To be clear, I am absolutely enamored by the smell, but it’s something I’d prefer to smell on a woman.
Hey omar, I just bought 2 fragrances I sampled before, and they smell totally different!! I still can catch the DNA, but it’s not like I smelled before. Some people recommend to maceration the fragrance… do you think that’s a great idea? How should I do that? And for how long?
Hi Omar I've been using Antaeus & Dior since 1987 and I can say they are on the league of their own ... the metallic vibe on the Antaeus i get haven't smelt it on any other perfume to date sort of annoying and at the same unique. That said is there any clone of the ROJAS BURLINGTON 1819 ?
I have noticed, on fragrance reviews, reviewers trying to please audiences by saying there is no gender-based fragrances. I would like to say that is absolutely b*******! It is a marketing ploy, by the fragrance manufacturers, to increase revenue by marketing fragrances as unisex. Modern generation men has become soft to the point that it's okay to want to smell like women. Thank you so much for the great content. There are still real men around, or at least want to smell like real men!
Im 25 just got into perfume and my collection now almost exclusively consists of reformulations of vintage perfumes, I’m not a fan of modern men’s perfume…or style, I dress more 1940s so my style in perfume is very manly, I love aramis by aramis and I love green scents, my two favorite green scents now must be pack rabane pour homme (I adore that perfume 😍😍) and Guerlain Vétiver wich I just got! So green and fresh but so deep with that dark smoky green Vetiver!! Haven’t tried GIT but my first creed will definitely be bois du Portugal! I love that scent, floris no89 is the last in my collection that truly is ME, it’s not so masculine maybe, more unisex but it screams confident and luxury!!
I am a young man with a old spirit 🤣. So, I love Naxos and other tobaco fragrance and my favorite ever is Herod by PdM. I just love it... I can't imagine wearing this fragrance with casual clothes, like shorts and rock band t-shirt
Im 22 years old however I wear what I think is considered masculine fragrances and I really think that my father has a big influence on me, I always used his fragrances as a kid and always liked them, my collection includes : ombre leather, profundo, guerlain l’homme ideal sport, Fahrenheit, Lattafa maahir legacy, sauvage elixer, Luna Rose Carbon, givenchy gentlemen intense, ysl La Nuit de L'Homme Bleu Électrique, Lattafa maharjan silver, Hugo boss infinite bottled, Thierry Mugler a * men
As you can tell by my fragrances yes I like more of fresh fragrances and I dislike the majority of the ‘date’ scents that for my nose is too feminine , i find the vanilla note too overrated in my opinion just as the term ‘niche’ it’s overused
I saw some where on the internet a guy saying that the tester bottles in the shops are aged to about 6 months before use and it should make it better? Is it true? And should I as a consumer buy my fragrance before I plan on using it?
I am pipesmoker, tobacco collector and cigar smoker. Normally I will avoid tobacco scent in perfume because it not represent what high gred tobacco smell, no matter niche or designer brand mostly they are smell like cheap cigar or low quality drugstore pipe tobacco to be honest.
I used to own a bottle of Michael kors for men when it first came out, I loved the scent but the longevity was terrible on my skin but great on paper. Do you know of a similar DNA to Michael Kors for men?
If you think Le Male is animalic you should try some from Frederick Malle, start with Promise. It’s like smelling a ferret that hasn’t had it’s stink glands removed yet. I got a decant of it and wow, that stuff reeks bad.
I do not find any jpg le male line as mature fragrance, they are sweet, cloying and outdated. Rest of the list is fantastic, this le male le parfum i would replace with dior sauvage elixir or LV ombre nomade or nishane nefs
Omar, do you think that ysl kouros is an alternative to anthaeus? They diminished down the animalic notes in new formulations. I loved this perfume when i tested it, I just can’t pull the trigger because of bad reviews I see on the web …
I own both. They're very different. Not redundant. Don't worry about those complaining about Kouros reformulations. It's still great, even though not exactly as it was in the 80s. Probably more wearable now.
@@brandonhobbs8563 thank you Brandon, the wearability was the point on my comment, what I like on kouros is the old school vibe, I’m not fan of animalic notes, and I didnt try the old formulations. I just dont want to repell others 🤣
So, your comment that you love more masculine fragrances for men raises the question as to when are you going to create such a fragrance? You have your own brand. Dan Naughton believed more attention should be given to a certain style. Rather than wait for someone else to do it, he created his own fragrances. And, they are getting good reviews. As for your list, Dior's Eau Sauvage Parfum and Chanel's Platinum Egoiste would both fit.
I think that the general public is getting shafted. I live in Canada, and some Dior’s, YSL, Chanel’s and others are almost at or above $200 for a 100ml bottle. Imagine paying that for something basic, smells good but gets old, when you could spend $150 on a discounted for a niche/luxury fragrance that smells unique, incredible and lasts long. Burlington 1819 is classy smelling that does give off a sophistication that promotes luxury. A long lasting citrus with depth
Dior eau sauvage definitely another mature fragrance option

Antaeus! Underrated. If you could get your hands on M. Micallef Sashka Men - that one is a niche winner that cost 6x cheaper than Antaeus
Waiting for the Summer to be over so I can finally rock Le Male Le Parfum. Definetly gonna be my cool weather signature.
