Trivium is one of the metal band out there that uses "heavy, complex" wording in their lyrics. Awesome!
I remember walking into a record store (!!!!) as a youngen and seeing a Limp Bizkit CD tagged as "Heavy Metal." Skewed my perception for years.

I think people need to understand that Trivium as a band like to take different approaches to their albums. Each album has a different approach and they don't like to be repetitive. If you watch their documentary you will see where Matt and Trivium got their inspiration from for this album.
some of you need to admit you're not real Trivium fans. Most of you are just fans of one or two of their albums because you heard them and thought that they should always sound like they did on that album. Trivium is constantly evolving and redefining their sound. And as a true fan of the band, I don't believe they have a "best album". They are Trivium, and no matter what they do, they are fucking awesome. Long live Trivium.

Triviums one of my favorite bands and id say they're albums go in this order from best to worst. Shogun, acsendancy, in waves, ember, vengance falls, the crusade. And if people are just now discovering trivium good for them. That means more fans and more albums for us.

Trivium is one of a few modern metalcore bands that stick to the original paterns of metal and show us how metal was and should be. Thats why i love them.
I saw them yesterday at Welcome To Rockville.
They played played a good mix of songs from a few albums.
Black, In Waves, Down from the Sky, Brave this Storm, Strife, Built to Fall, more.
They only had about a 30 min setlist.

I skipped Rockville cause I spent way too much on Crüe tickets. This was one of the few bands I wanted to see.With only a 30 minute set, I don't feel like I missed too much.
this is seriously one of my favorite music videos of all time, there's nothing revolutionary about it but the visuals are just awesome and tie in with the music perfectly

The Cursade was different but has soe very good songs... Obviously there are some bad one on there but that doesn't mean its a bad album.... And Vengeance Falls Is actually really good

very personal opinions, nobodys right on whether an album is bad or isn' if you like it listen to it if you dont like it dont listen to it simple as that. this band isn't there to make songs specifically for you and only you (not directly pointing the finger at you).
I think this guitar intro was done really really well. The tone was like exactly how it should be and the Lead guitarist's right hand choked the strings at around 0:32 so that you get a pinch harmonic that is overwhelmed by the actual note.
I practice all day I'm glad it promotes analytic skills!

People just need to take a step back and realize this shit is amazing! pay attention to there writing style... as musicians they've grown so much... and of course we all know to expect something different from each album... isn't that half the reason we love trivium? by far the most unique band out there!

So funny story time: I went to a huge concert in my home state in May of last year, (Carolina Rebellion), and Trivium performed there amongst a smattering of other bands and shortly after their set finished, Lamb of God performed at another stage across the way and I got to that area kind of late, so I was towards the back and I noticed this guy standing in front me and I didn't realize it until after Lamb of God finished their set but it was Matt Heafy and he stood there for awhile during their set and no one really noticed it was him but I was so pissed afterwards because I could've literally got a picture or something with him. 😂

Honestly, this is probably my favorite Trivium album yet, but then again I'm a huge David Draiman fan. I heard that apparently he helped produce this one, so put 2 and 2 together and I guess that makes sense.
I totally agree. They've evolved a lot throughout their careers and are one of my favorite bands to this day :)

Both my greatest strength and weakness....Thank you for reminding me how it feels to have the dilemma, and strength it takes to overcome it and the situation. Violent energy can be funneled into something ironically constructive. Shit like this makes it possible.

Matt Heafy really is an inspiration, to me this song is about him growing and developing as an artist, having to listen to all the negative criticism of his bands change in sound, "struggle to find my way" as he is only a human after all, peoples words affect you whether you say that they do or not, stooping to their level and talking back (the "strife") wouldn't make him feel better so instead he just does what he does best, regardless of their opinions, and does it with intensity and passion!

Heafy always pays tribute to Emperor/Ihsahn somehow, still happy to see that he hasn't forgotten the roots that makes Trivium's music unique.
