Gingerscantbepirates not me, for me it's either drowned and torn asunder, or the sub and the sentence, I started listening to them very recently and this is probably my favorite song right now and the album is probably also my favorite album from them
Hey cheeser, if you haven't yet, listen to their fourth record "Shogun". That album is in my opinion, the best album ever made. From start to finish it's just fantastic. I highly recommend using good headphones or listening to it with good quality speakers though. Shogun has some of the best production I've heard.
Matt Maltese I've been listening to a lot of them recently and right now I've got to say that shogun is my favorite album and my favorite song is either torn between scylla and charybdis or down from the sky

2005 was the year that shaped my music taste. I was 14 and played the crap out of this album and Bullet For My Valentine’s “The Poison”. To this day, them and Trivium are my two favorite bands and I’ve had the pleasure to see both of them perform live.

From this era you should also check out As I Lay Dieing, Avenged Sevenfold, All That Remains and for lighter stuff Bullet For My Valentine. And when you're ready for some real Epic Old School Extreme, do yourself a favour and pick up some Deicide, Morbid Angel, Sepultura, Pantera, Marduk and you'll follow from there, and for a more fun casual vibe 90s 2000s style , Korn, POD, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Coal Chamber. It's 2023... almost 24, and Trivium is still a great band, and I love those guys, but.... come on man! They never released another masterpiece compared to this! Incredible and complete package of heaviness! Pure roost and raw screams... unutterable tight drums, just awesome!

And then their hardrock phase came with Silence in The Snow and since then Heafy sounds like the frontman of Volbeat mixed with Elvis. The instrumentals also fucking suck.

I know Matt didn’t actually know how to use his voice in the proper way here, but god fucking damn how good does he sound at that age. Hard to believe how young they still are, they seem like they’ve been around forever.

To think I was just 16 when this song came out. I’d go to every single show that came into my hometown. I’m now 31 and to be 32 in a couple of weeks revisiting my teen years. When I was your age it was the same. Keep being you, an awesome 12 yr old with great music taste! I'm 32 now with 2 kids. I still go to shows as much as possible and still a huge fan of Trivium. It was the best era of music back when. Wish you could have been there too lol. Keep being yourself and I hope that you have a great future.

Sure Ascendancy isn't bad, when you want to get nostalgic over the raw unrefined teen angst 2000's kind of thing. But musically and stylistically Shogun is their peak.

This was the first metal song I ever listened to. It was part of the soundtrack for the game Infected on the PSP, along with Slipknot. Funny how a video game can ignite my passion for heavy metal music. I don't listen to Trivium like I used to, but Ascendancy is still one of my top 10 all-time favorite metal albums 🤘
