Hey cheeser, if you haven't yet, listen to their fourth record "Shogun". That album is in my opinion, the best album ever made. From start to finish it's just fantastic. I highly recommend using good headphones or listening to it with good quality speakers though. Shogun has some of the best production I've heard.
Matt Maltese I've been listening to a lot of them recently and right now I've got to say that shogun is my favorite album and my favorite song is either torn between scylla and charybdis or down from the sky

2005 was the year that shaped my music taste. I was 14 and played the crap out of this album and Bullet For My Valentine’s “The Poison”. To this day, them and Trivium are my two favorite bands and I’ve had the pleasure to see both of them perform live.
Jordan Foust same here, just add KSE and AILD, I jammed those 4 bands constantly in ‘05 along with some Deftones and Rammstein. The 00’s was def a good era for music.

To think I was just 16 when this song came out. I’d go to every single show that came into my hometown. I’m now 31 and to be 32 in a couple of weeks revisiting my teen years. When I was your age it was the same. Keep being you, an awesome 12 yr old with great music taste! I'm 32 now with 2 kids. I still go to shows as much as possible and still a huge fan of Trivium. It was the best era of music back when. Wish you could have been there too lol. Keep being yourself and I hope that you have a great future.

It's 2023... almost 24, and Trivium is still a great band, and I love those guys, but.... come on man! They never released another masterpiece compared to this! Incredible and complete package of heaviness! Pure roost and raw screams... unutterable tight drums, just awesome!

I still remember this coming on some MTV or VH1 hour at like 2 in the morning when I should’ve been long asleep before my summer job the next morning. I was big into KSE, Atreyu, 36 Crazyfists, and the like and this song added Trivium to that list.

Sure Ascendancy isn't bad, when you want to get nostalgic over the raw unrefined teen angst 2000's kind of thing. But musically and stylistically Shogun is their peak.

@@Interestingenough4 Unfortunately though the screaming is not nearly as good as it was in the Ascendancy era. It was a very harsh style though and I remember he complained about what it was doing to him. Uniqueness often comes with its disadvantages lol.

Funny how a video game can ignite my passion for heavy metal music. I don't listen to Trivium like I used to, but Ascendancy is still one of my top 10 all-time favorite metal albums 🤘
