2024 and undeniably still their best album 👇🏽
I think it's their best, just deniably because they are such a good band
thought I was the only one who likes Shogun more than Ascendency
here for the wwe soundtrack ngl
2nd best. Ascendancy comes first
That line 'tears rain down from the sky' is haunting
Lowkey citing the Hiroshima Nagasaki bombings
This is a fucking masterpiece, so much epicness. Shogun is one of the best albums ever
Kirisute Gomen*
I'am the table aww yeah man
Sabaton
Louis Guerric I love Sabaton
His voice is amazing.
It's been 14 years and this song still slaps
110% killed it at Knotfest
ong
Shogun was their Master of Puppets. No fucking doubt.
+Retro Game Lounge definitely.
+Retro Game Lounge If Metallica ever needs a fill in vocalist, this dude could pull it off.
+John Goepel Listen to Evile - In Dreams of Terror, that vocalist is the one who could pull off Metallica's vocals if they need someone to fill in
+Marco Gast Just had to thank you for mentioning this checked out Evile, I'm hooked, it's like their lead singer is a mix between young James and Tom Araya. Not to mention being an awesome thrash band in their own right.
+k0bra 3eak exactly what I thought, awesome band!
such fabulous hair...
Better short
+Nihlus x I love how Corey is the only one with long hair now
+Carson Crooch Nope.
+Paul Wolf Metal if you're going to insult an American at least learn to speak/type proper English first. If he's here listening to the song and also complimenting his hair it goes without saying he digs the song you fucking dullard. Can you please link us to this bombing? Which one was it? Iraq or Iran? You do realize those are two different countries, right? No of course you don't. Moron.
+Paul Wolf Metal dude maybe you should go and change your tampon and take some midal before responding. if it weren't for the U.S., the Nazis would have taken the resources of the land, and if not the Nazis it would have been the Soviets. we in the U.S. and our military is the only thing standing between freedom and oppression. the problem with our country is our cowards of leaders
Smackdown vs Raw 2010
hell ya
Yup
Good times
yup
yyyeeeeeaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
15 years old and this song still has one of the best intros in Metal
Good old Trivium. Their best album.
+Pepe Kebabo Indeed.. I don't much like anything after Shogun, honestly. In Waves was good, but they've strayed from their roots these days.
+Pepe Kebabo Agree. I think they peaked with Shogun. Their later work sounds more radio/mainstream to me. I rate Shogun up there with Master of Puppets, Peace Sells, and Exodus Tempo of the Damned and Exhibit B.
+Sean Beck their latest album is quite good, not as complex as shogun, but it is a very solid album.
check out their songs" silence in the snow", until the world goes cold, breath in the flames, the ghost thats haunting you
snake I had the album before it was even released lol I've given it multiple spins, just can't get into it like I can their older stuff. "In Waves" was the last one I could really get into.
+Sean Beck Vengeance Falls, Shogun, and Silence in the Snow are my top three favorite albums, but my favorite song would be "Brave This Storm"
Ive spent 5 years trying to find this song and today i have finally found it oh my fucking god
Congrats u found it
Where were you looking wtf lol
did you hear it on the radio at first or something like that?
Will Wason congrats u found it lol
And now i find ur comment from 5 year ago 🤘
Shogun is untouchable. One of my favourite Trivium albums!
Only thing that’s beats it for me is Ascendancy. Both are perfect albums though. I just connect with Ascendancy a bit more.
@@The_JustJoshing I can get behind that! It certainly was a game changer for them!
8 years on and I still don't know how an H-bomb explosion starts...
To be clear, a Hydrogen bomb has never been used in war or any practical sense. They may have been synthesised, but the government probably won't be too keen on sharing that information. But for a hydrogen bomb, essentially what happens is 4 atoms of hydrogen hit such a high velocity and collide. The velocity allows the strong nuclear force holding them together to EXCEED the electrostatic force that would normally push them apart. Think of it like this, the force that hold protons together in the nucleus along with the neutrons is the Strong force, and the force that pushes the same poles of two magnets apart is the Electrostatic force. Anyway, before I bore you with the Particle Physics and whatnot, in a Hydrogen bomb, four hydrogen atoms are smashed together so fast that they fuse together to make a helium atom. Since the amount of particles in four hydrogens exceeds one helium, that mass has to go somewhere. Extra mass = Kaboom
[citation needed]
My brain.
Lol. Nice one. I do get the basics of nuclear weapons, just wouldn't be able to put it as eloquently.
Well thank you. I take pride in the way I write. Much appreciated
I don't care what "genre" of metal Trivium is classified under, I love them regardless.
It's sad how many people get angry if someone calls this metal. Who actually cares lmao
genre-izing is kinda pointless aside from sorting out music. Even then it still is a bit of a personal opinion situation. But I agree, Trivium is fucking grand
***** this is definatly more metal than half the new shit that comea out
Sean Williams Very true. Today's 'metal' is mostly about the singer's squeeky voice and looks and not about heavy riffs and manly singing
Bram Lammers it is metal lol ? Wtf how is it not metal omg really!
Trivium is undoubtedly the best Metal band today.
Yea so Vengeance Falls kinda sucked, they still are proper metal like Metallica and Megadeth were.
Viv Varghese didn't suck. it was just another step in their evolution. Was still way better than other shit out today...
***** What are you talking about In Waves was brilliant! Shogun, Ascendancy, and In Waves were their best albums by far!
Viv Varghese Strife awesome song dude, now stfu
Viv Varghese I agree. In Waves was pretty much Perfect Trivium. They took the best of Shoguns sound and added the best of Crusades sound. And it turned out perfect. I agree that Vengeance Falls is a step down, but i also agree that even that album is a step above anything else out there. Trivium has been my favorite band for 7-8 years, and will continue to be probably the rest of my life!
"The vampires feed on the wars of mankind..."
If people only knew just how true that line is.
I'm shocked that this absolute masterpiece only had 16 Million views. "Down From The Sky" is one of the most perfect songs ever written. It's heavy, melodic, sinister & beautiful at the same time. Music is more than just sound waves, it's a vehicle that takes you on a journey all while having to not leave you seat.
because it's metalcore and nobody likes metalcore
16 millions is a really large number

LordGwynn same lmao
Actually the lyrics are "This bread was not the sandwich they had lettuce jubilees"
Dude i cant unhear that. Just like no one can make me "SHABADABADA!" Like mitch lucker

Ascendancy will always be my favorite album. But Shogun was a hell of a beast.
Ayy ya couldn't say it better m8
Agreed
Yes my two favs. Third fave was in waves.
Fr tho!!! I feel the same, nothing could top ascendency in terms of personal enjoyment but Shogun is really their best work!!! Love everything that came afterwards too though. they're just in a league of their own
Ascendancy was the best metalcore album of that era no question
That intro still is one of the best things I've ever heard
i will never stop loving this song 2020 anyone?
Shogun is still in my car stereo. Never gets old.

Of course

@@juliocesarramosvallejo8911 All the dislikes are hitting by a bomb that fall down from the sky...
I miss THIS trivium! Best album IMO!
Trivium is trivium. They're always great. But I do agree this is their absolute best album it's just 1000% perfection amongst a catalog of masterpieces ascendency is always going to be my favorite but Shogun is just on a different plain of greatness absolute untouchable album
I agree
Can listen to Shogun all the way through 🤘
Trivium and Lamb of God remind me so much of one another...just straightforward, no bs, kick ass metal
I actually don't think Trivium and Lamb Of God are similar at all. That said, they are two of my favorite newer metal bands along with Mastodon.
Well not so much in sound, just their approach to music is similar to me. So "in your face"
Brian Wade newer?
Most of my favorite metal bands are the classic bands like Overkill, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Anthrax, you get the picture.
Good stuff
SmackDown vs Raw 2008-2011 had the best soundtracks.
True!
2007 was pretty good too

Shogun = Awesome
In Waves = Awesome
Vengence Falls = Awesome
Silence In The Snow = Awesome
If someone disagrees, I accept that you have your opinion about it.
Doesn't matter, no true metalhead is even gonna dignify your comment with criticism.
So, enlighten us with your view on Ember to Inferno, Ascendancy and The Crusade? Shogun is the best though
Bought Ascendancy a few days ago. I really like it too tbh.
😂
DeadLiner disagree here. you forgot the first 3 cds :-P
This band have so much power and talent... Shogun, one of the best albums of Heavy Metal, hell yeah!
*has. And no they don't
My opinion is my opinion. Not yours.
I can see that, but you didn't say that. I also like trivium but that doesn't mean they are good. What is good ???
Ian Diederen what the hell are you talking about???
How you can like a band where you are saying that not is good. Are you on drugs?
I'm really starting to hate all these damn sub genre arguments under metal. It's annoying as fuck. Does it really matter what genre it is? Nope. If it's good music, then that's good enough for me. Hell, if Justin Beiber was able to put out a good song or album, I'd listen
You nailed it!
-_-
How are you supposed to find your favorite type of metal if you don't know the sub genre?
Kyle DuBois by listening to different bands, there is no such thing as good types of music and bad types of music. There is only good and bad music so instead ofclassing everything by genres, try just listening
Cpmnk there's actually no good/bad music. it's all about perspective. hence the arguments about the best bands/genres. different tastes, same useless arguments.
Great song! Love the intro 👍🎸
@Joey Brodie clown to clown convo 🤡🤡
This particular era for triVium was godlike. I lay my sword and helmet to these axemen!
Shogun is one of the best albums I've ever heard. So much power in those lyrics and riffs
This band just keeps getting better with age
ANNIHILAAAAAAATE!! Just too good with that riff that goes from slides, to triplets, to tremolo.
My favorite song, not just by Trivium, but of all time
When you keep listen a song more than ten years, you know that is a classic to rest of your life!

How could you possibly not like this song ??
By having a different music taste
+Fnuord Hase. HAHAHA LOL IM DIEING
+Fnuord Hase here we have a show case of how the metal community is the worst community :')
mind you trivium is one of my favourite bands, i don't even call myself a metalhead because i find it an insult, because you are compared to close minded idiots
all good guy's, we all have the freedom to express our like or dislike for something, i was in the moment during the breakdown, saw the dislikes and had to ask the question. Awesome song i love how it has a bit of everything and the words relate to how humans have battled and fought with each other over religion ever since we started believing in it !
+Luke Walker rightio, yeah metal fans just annoy me, like fuck, i jam rap, edm, and even some pop, but apparently to metal fans, that makes it they are more METAL \MM//// than you even if bands you listen to are heavier than theirs? They're all close minded and as a whole, are a bunch of immature kids, crying because the music industry isn't fair, and that metal should become the mainstream because to them it's the hardest genre (which it isn't, it's beginner level compared to jazz, jazz fusion, classical or math rock) don't get me wrong i love the music, just the fans are the scum of the earth for the most part
remember myself when I was addicted to this song around 2009/2010

Our meat, gasoline
They pump us through the machine's valves
To cleanse the world's "disease"

When Matt says "LETS F*CKING GO" it always gets me hyped up!
This was the song that got me to fall in love with Trivium’s music
To me it started with In the Court of the Dragon 😁
For me, this is the first Trivium song that I listened to, and I didn't even know this song was written by Trivium since I played the heck out of WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2010.

Yeah thats my favorite song too

Matt has hair!!
even after all these yrs this song still speaks soo much truth.
That's because the lyrics are vague. So of course one can mold them to fit many geopolitical situations.
The actual theme for "Down From the Sky" is chastise those who spark war for profit or religion and a warning of future nuclear holocaust.
This was the first Trivium song I heard, thanks to Smackdown vs Raw 2010!
Still one of the best songs by trivium
I’ve been a big fan of Trivium since their inception. I first seen them live at Harpos in Detroit with Amon Amarth & Children Of Bodom in roughly 2003/04 & they were so young & were only 18-20yrs old but not intimidated in the least!!

The best album from an amazing band. Not that they've ever made a truly bad album, despite a couple dips in quality. I'm so glad they are still holding together.
Always been a fan of Trivium since the beginning but Shogun is by far their best album in my opinion. wish they had more like it.
I agree it's their best but Imo that's one of the many reasons trivium is such a perfect band they'll make something unforgettable and timeless as Shogun and then completely change their style. Keeps the music fresh, interesting and you'll always wanna go back to them because each album is so unique and has its own flavor to it but nomatter what they do at the end of the day all their albums have that signature "trivium" sound to it thats just unexplainable Shogun is a masterpiece and instead of trying to recapture the magic they made on that album they left it as it was and went on to explore more avenues of their creativity. Truly a band of a lifetime!
