This song helped me gradually sink into my love for the "heavier stuff" as my dad calls it.

Same! Blink 182 split (for the first time) the year Ascendency launched and in my teenage grief I decided to try something completely different. I 'sunk' into the heavier stuff as a teenager on that day I first heard it, met new people, went to different kinds of gigs because of it... honestly this song changed my life immeasurably.
For me it was slipknot. Everybody has that one band or song
This whole album was my point of no return. Before this and kse and all that remains? I was on the drowning pool as heavy music train.
Ascendancy and The Fall of Ideals were what introduced me to metal back in '05. Now my 9 year old daughter loves All That Remains and Slipknot. #metaldad

Same here! Remember those music channels on digital cable back in the day much music? It showed facts about the bands during the songs. This was the first place I ever heard this song and Trivium in general
I don't remember if this was my first song or not from them tbh because I was shown this band by my uncle & friends, but I do remember this was the song that caught my attention the most of all the songs I was shown of them at the time, it was the song that made me invested into the band.

I'm too used to Trivium's live version with Travis on drums that the bridge part sounds so slow without Travis pushing the tempo faster and faster lol. It even sounds like Matt and Corey's screaming are ahead of the click track at the start of it aswell. This was my teens and still killing it years later.
