      @Yeshua Is Lord I am a hard working student and I usually get As but I was struggling with biochem. In fact I got a C on my first exam. I knew I had to change my methods so I did and got a great result. You could be as smart as you want but if your study method is wrong you’d most probably end up with a grade you don’t like. So it’s not about being smart or high IQed it’s about knowing what works for you best. Just my opinion 🙂

    • @nikhilsankar2215
      @nikhilsankar2215 Год назад +2

      @@dumebikanu3180 Never took notes in class. I would turn them into questions. Not for every course however. We just had an exam for patho where we had to study 34 lectures ranging from 37-70 slides each. Then is where you have to be innovative with the recall. For that I'd suggest taking a powerpoint, read the first 10 slides..then try to summarize orally what they are about. I did this and would write out what I summarized...leaving me with summary notes at the end.

    1st year med student here, Quick tip for everyone. When you make a google sheet for this, you can make a 1st column on the left for "Status" and make it a drop down menu through "Data Validation". I made mine "1, 2, or 3" and they correspond with Red, Yellow, Green. You can then sort by the question status so maybe you only want to see yellow and red questions and not green, it makes your experience much neater. You can also do conditional formatting to make say the question and answer rows be the color you choose, so it'll actually highlight for you when you select "1" or "2" for example. Good luck all! We can do it!

    We do this in aviation (commercial/private/military) too; never realised there was an actual term for it until I watched Ali Abdaal videos as well. Reflecting on how we prepare for flights; it was really active recall (or the border between active recall and rote learning). I just do AR for every aspect of aviation now; previously it was for only some areas.
    It works in any field.

    • @Dr.Nellah
      @Dr.Nellah  3 года назад +1

      Yeahh there’s so many practical ways to do it aswell. I’ve done flash cards for as long as I can remember and I didn’t realise that was active recall aswell until I knew the term. That’s so cool though and your course sounds interesting ☺️

    • @syumassh
      @syumassh 3 года назад

      @@Dr.Nellah It’s not a course; I meant this is what majority of pilots do (unbeknownst to them it’s called active recall). 😆
      Nonetheless, good to know that it’s working for people in multiple fields.
