On test day I felt like I knew all of the information and I never touched a book just did the potential questions and on one of my final exams I got an 89. thank you so much for this video but it is very hard for me to apply it since my uni is not that organised :'( Also i end up with many questions for many modules so i cant do spaced repetition since i hv always new lectures to do :(
And how do you plan for the stuff you learn in clinic? Does your school provide a timetable for Ward rounds too? I'm just starting clinicals and I need all the help I can get!
For clinics i make my timetable according to the rotation and subjects/practical skills I need to be covering. and I find flashcards the most helpful for clinics because it’s things you have to know quickly and to the point
Nellah do you know any other plataform that can make my spaced repetition algorithm for active recall besides Anki? Is just that I find the app confusing and not intuitive...Thank You!!! :))) Love the videos
So question, from my understanding you create your questions based on your lectures, have you ever had teachers cover material in the text book solely? Do you still read the text book and create questions from the text?

hi, i’m in sixth form and was wondering if just making my own questions whilst watching youtube videos is also effective? Making notes out of the questions with the answers? Then also making past paper questions and putting them on spreadsheets?
How do I convert my powerpoints to have notes on the side? I can’t seem to figure out how to add it with the notes on the side to transfer to my GoodNotes.
So wait, you make your own questions during the lecture and answer them afterward, how so like how do you manage to remember the answer to all of them or do you use materials to answer them? I hope I make sense i'm a little slow
From what I understand she means that during the lecture she writes questions and right after the lecture she uses active recall to answer those questions because the information is still in her head. Correct me if I am wrong but the next day she goes through the lecture recordings and see if her recalls meaning the answers to her questions are correct according to her lectures. I hope my explanation is clear.
Yes I concentrate and engage in the lecture which allows me to remember a lot. I sit and really apply myself to try na remember (hence it’s not an easy read and rewrite) and it’s okay if I don’t remember that’s the whole point of the exercise to strengthen what I know and also see my gaps.

According to my spaced repetition timetable. It’s whatever I have to go through that day and also the work I had planned on top. But it’s still usually not unmanageable
I’m a little confused... At one point in the video you say you study about 3 hr a a day. Basically pay attention to the lecture n write down questions, then answer them after the lecture by memory, revise the next day by active recall and follow up with spaced repetition. The question I have is,the following day you have another new lecture ryt? So you need to do the whole process for that new lecture on top of active recalling stuff from the previous day ryt? Does all of that fit into three hours or is that three hours you talk about related to something completely else?🤔 Also how does clinicals get in the way of study schedules ? It would mean so much to clarify what i didn't understand..
I understand your question, the 3hrs i meant JUST for new info from start to finish. Usually my spaced repetition going over previous work would be another hour maybe 2 max since it’s no longer new information (unless it’s red then it might take longer) but I’ll break it up so I’m not sitting for 6hrs straight. When I did do clinicals then it was the same as going to lectures in terms of time. I just study after as usually I’m not in the hospital ALL DAY everyday but everyone’s situation is different. I also study rotation related clinics so whatever rotation I’m on I study that topic/system. Hope that helps.
@@Dr.Nellah Thank you for explaining☺️unfortunately it feels impossible to carry out this schedule. In my school there are lecture every day from from 8/9 am to 4/5 pm.after which there's like 45min commute back home. And there's multiple modules going at the same time. Actually ppl who do study groups go on till like 11/12pm. It's like, 5-6 hours of studying every day just leaves no time for anything else😪 Anyway i love your study videos.there's so many good tips that I find useful. sadly no matter what I find it hard to fit any hobbies/ social life into my life w/o compromising grades.😔

No I don’t delete, I usually have a separate doc which has just all the questions so I know which ones are red etc without having to look at the answers document if that makes sense
Something science related maybe? I don’t have the same system where I went to university in terms of majoring etc so I’m probably not the best person to ask tbh
For essays I still do the same Q&A ans I make sure I know the most important points and you can write around those points e.g 10 main points for one question and you should be good but I don’t do a lot of essay based Qs so I’m probably not the best person to ask :)

It's like, 5-6 hours of studying every day just leaves no time for anything else😪
Anyway i love your study videos.there's so many good tips that I find useful.
sadly no matter what I find it hard to fit any hobbies/ social life into my life w/o compromising grades.😔
How do you make the template for your lecture questions
Is a module a subject? or part of the subject? We use terms like topics within our subjects. Trying to understand how to apply the workload formula.
It’s a subject so like respiration is a module and then maybe like “respiratory diseases” would be a topic within that module.
@@Dr.Nellah Thank you. Makes it easier to break down the work-load.
I feel kind of dumb, but how do you come up with your questions?
No not dumb at all lol My previous videos explain it ☺️
@@Dr.Nellah Do you have a link for the previous video? I also have an issue with questions
@@Dr.Nellah I get it now. Thank you! I can't wait to try out this style when I go back to school. I used to be an avid note taker too and I did horribly in school when I was younger.
If you need help with these proctored exams here is the secret. ruclips.net/video/ldOXeOpB73k/видео.html . I have used them before and they are very professional. They deliver A grades, Thank me later,.>
For the red parts, do you delete your answer every time until you get it right?
No I don’t delete, I usually have a separate doc which has just all the questions so I know which ones are red etc without having to look at the answers document if that makes sense
@@Dr.Nellah so you have two separate docs for questions and answers? And then another document to practice the answers?
Is there a major you suggest to take will in a university?
Something science related maybe? I don’t have the same system where I went to university in terms of majoring etc so I’m probably not the best person to ask tbh
Is Lecturio better or Dr Najeeb
Dr najeeb is good but videos are too long. I prefer Lecturio if I had to choose between the two but they are both good for different reasons
Is ur lecturing link for 25% discount still working
Hey, how do you put the lines on the slides? (6:22)
I dont have an ınstagram how I will learn about hs active recall?
You can just watch more videos on RUclips I guess 🤷🏾♀️
How are you so pretty? 💗
☺️☺️
Where can i find q bank for medicine
There’s a lot of apps like AMBOSS or Oscer but you can probably also use your university resources and textbooks
How about us whose questions are essay based 🥺..it seems like shallow reading
For essays I still do the same Q&A ans I make sure I know the most important points and you can write around those points e.g 10 main points for one question and you should be good but I don’t do a lot of essay based Qs so I’m probably not the best person to ask :)
Thank you so much for the input though 💃💃
Love this! 💘 Will you be my future physician?
You said you don’t study on Saturdays, are you SDA?
How did you end up doing in your assessment?
I got 80% ☺️☺️
I feel like if you had titled this video "actual recall method routine" it would have better represented the content and the target audience just saying. :) :)
Noted☺️
on behalf of the high school students, thank youuu!!!
early!!
love it! hope you enjoyed the video x
I used active recall in high school.I never used it in medical school.I will try it from today .
Definitely!!
Where u from
Why don't you study on Saturdays?
Because it’s a rest day aka Sabbath ☺️ I take that day to unplug and spend uninterrupted time with God.
@@Dr.Nellah glad to hear that. It rang a bell and I wondered if that was the reason 🤍 SDA here and medical student 🤗 I am also married 😄 How many coincidences 😅
Are you south african?
No Zimbabwean ☺️
