    This one is still on my list. I've been keeping fish since 1998 and still haven't had Endlers. I always opt for white clouds and recently rice fish.

    I like them. They simply don't have a place here in my fish room. Well, I suppose there is one place, but I'm not someone who enjoys feeding live animals to other animals 😂

    I’m keeping Romani, White Peacock and Staeck endlers.
    Pygmy Cory’s on the bottom and I’ve been growing out a few little Panda Garra that’ll be moved to my larger tank. Working well a few months in.

    I love them, I have been raising staek and el tigre! 2 10 gallons and a 5 gallon for the grow up tank, cause i do not want to cross lines of I can prevent it 😅 Such awesome little fish full of personality ❤ I've been keeping females in their own tank so I can control which fish are breeding. I also have a short fin crowntail female betta, she keeps the population of babies under control. 😂 she shoals with the female endlers and is a happy girl. ❤ heavily planted, tannins, algae and microfauna.

    While these male to female ratios for livebearers are all well and good right at the beginning when you first purchase them. It soon becomes a free for all once theres fry that have survived and the ratios have gone out the window!

      True

    • @AgxntOrange
      @AgxntOrange Месяц назад

      You could always sell the extra males for cheap to retain the ratio. Just make sure the ad is listed as male only and you’ll be fine.

    I have a 55 gallon, full of mutt guppies. I put 10 of them in there like 2 1/2 years ago.
    suddenly I have some male endlers , 3 of them , they all look alike, two little safety orange stripes on their tail, they're tiny compared to the other males.
    ive never had endlers, im assuming it is some type genetic throw back and at least some of my guppies have some endler DNA

    I've got a tank that I need to finish setting up. Black background and black gravel capping soil. I'm gonna do a trio of sky blue endlers, leaopard guppies and blue carbon rilli shrimp.

    This makes me so happy. My favorite fish i think. Some variety are rare and i love that. I keep them separated (males/female) and in my male tank, they have a jungle to diminish the 'bullying'. I keep very lightly stock tanks and when i have exceptional specimen, i breed them once in a while. How lovely and not skittish at all. 🙂

  • @jeffereyhopkins750

    My local LFS prefers the guppy/endler crosses as he believes that you get guppy color and tails without some of the issues with too much guppy inbreeding.

    If I was forced to choose a single livebearer to keep, it would be Endlers. I currently have N Class Black Bar Endlers, Staeck Endlers, Rainbow Tiger Endlers. Out of the tap, my water is about 7.8 pH. In my seasoned tanks, the water parameters are about 7.0 pH.

    Do you think endlers/ guppies could go with African shell dwellers (Multies)?

    These are gorgeous in colour but are a breed that need to kept on their own as they're nippers with other fish & especially to long fined fish.

  • @gigi3242
    @gigi3242 5 месяцев назад

    exactly what "larger fish" would be good to keep the endler population in check? I don't want a fin nipper, but a fry muncher would be good. I have a 20 tall, and wanted a little more life than my elderly mountain minnows were providing.... endlers, beautiful, busy... yeah, busy. Pretty sure there are a bazillion in that tank now, have been removing the males to a separate tank, but would really like to just have a "balancer" in the 20. Suggestions?

    I know: a female can become pregnant 6 times from 1 fertilization. In the pet store, males and females swim together, so the females have been fertilized by an unknown male. If I put females together with a male of my choice, will it take six months for the female to give birth to the male of my choice?
