    My endler guppies will soon be a year old, they survived huricane Maria which left us without electricity for more than 90 days in my house! Started with one male and three females and currently have a pretty nice family of them. It's a 10 gallon tank with java moss and java fern. Definitely my favorite fish after bettas.

    I am from Venezuela, when I was a child in my city San Cristobal in any creek they were obtained, we fish them and put them in glass containers with plants in a short time they did not fit, because of how prolific they are. Recently I went to run in a place near my city famous for having a hot springs resort, and next to the parking lot there was what looked like stagnant water very low and maybe dirty, I was surprised to see that it was full of these beautiful fish and it brought back memories of my childhood with a plastic cup. Now that I see your video I want to make in my house a big pond with fish from my region and put in these fish also a cichlid that we call "viejitas" very similar to the ramirezis and maybe some kind of catfish from the region. I hope in a while to tell you my experience and why not offer these specimens and have my own reservoir.

    So the other day I was at a big box store admiring the Japanese blue Endlers. I’ve never purchased them because I want a pure line and could never find females. They had two or three that had snuck in with their delivery! So you bet I scooped them up and put them in a tank to start a line of my own!

    I've just subscribed to your channel and I'm pleased about the video today as I keep and breed Endlers' Guppies. I find that the adults tend not to eat the babies especially if they are well fed.

    Another question i had was what sand do you use in your tank? I have wanted to use sand but heard a few issues with using a deep sand substrate, have you come across any issues with the sand you use?

    The drain near my grandma's house is littered with endlers. Sure, they don't look perfect and neither do their colors pop, but I still think that they look very beautiful.

    why do people add guppy to their name They are not guppys, just like the molly they are family But noone says iits the molly guppy,or its the molly livebearer do they The Endler is its own breed, with its own scientific name....and 1st discovered in 1937

    I bought new fish, and 2 weeks later I put them in my community tank. According to the trader, 2 weeks of quarantine was a long time. But within 1 day all the fish became critically ill and I had to start over.
    Therefore this question: how long should you quarantine new guppies? One month? Half a year?

    I have a black line endler and I cross it to a female wild endler I have a fry that look like their father is that a hybrid or what?

    • @kasperkjrsgaard1447

      SonOfMino
      Yep it’s a hybrid for sure. To be sure you should only keep endlers from the same population in the aquarium.

    I accidentally got an endler when I bought 2 feeder fish to help cycle a tank. It matured, changed colors and BOOM! Pretty endler. Then... It bred with the other guppy. I thought I bought 2 females. Now I have 12 guppies, lol.

    • @christophercasanas386
      @christophercasanas386 3 года назад

      Yep. If you have any other fish in there, you shouldn't worry about the population going out of control.

    • @christophercasanas386
      @christophercasanas386 3 года назад

      @UCnLUsiJnx1t0jU7lNLUKaug Yes but you would have to make sure they dont overbreed and take over the tank.

    Why do the endler female guppies is not colorful?

    • @christophercasanas386
      @christophercasanas386 3 года назад

      Because the males use their colors to attract females.

      Sexual selection and natural selection. Wild fish (which all aquarium fish once were) are more likely to survive to adulthood if they aren't ate by predators, so the fish that camouflage well are safer than fish that stand out. However, females are picky because they put more effort (eggs vs sperm) in reproduction so they pick the males that show the most fitness. Bright colors on a male show that he is healthy and is fast/smart enough to not be eaten.

    Inbreeding is not the problem. But if there is a hereditary defect in the DNA, it is reinforced with each generation of inbreeding. First of all, it is a good idea to have a fixed breeding group. All offspring immediately. Keep the breeding stock for life. Then the inbreeding doesn't go that fast either. If the guppies look good, you can replace a dead animal with a beautiful animal from the offspring. If you prefer to buy a new one, it's more difficult. A new animal can bring disease and cause disaster. Therefore, put the new guppies in a separate container. And after six months you use daughters from the quarantine group to supplement your breeding group. (For example, you replace all breeding females)
    If you want to avoid overcrowding, look at the young guppies with a magnifying glass after two or three weeks. The females have a dark spot on the back of their abdomen, near the base of their tail. Separate them from brothers and nephews at that age. Because young males can fertilize their sisters and nieces within four or five weeks. The female stores the sperm until she is fertile and then she becomes pregnant. But if you separate them in time, a female tank and a male tank, the females will grow longer. They grow bigger and you don't have an overcrowded tank.
