Pleasantly surprised to hear an Aussie accent!
Haha, I'm glad!
I just started me a guppy tank so it's nice to know just how this works, I have some plants on the way
I also have had a batch of fry & ended up with 35 on my 1st batch which I was surprised, I moved them to
another tank as soon as I seen I had them in the main tank & they are doing really good. I have my lights
on during the day, their water stays around 70-75 so I don't run a heater & so far so good, I'm doing this.
Had three females with one endler guppy. The females were placed in a separate tank once pregnant. Since then every female has given birth to several guppies, not once but two to three times. So the babies developed in batches and did not arrive all at once. Now that whole tank with the females is full of babies. They just crank those babies out left and right. Fun to watch the babies grow up.
Lights are not optional. Guppy babies need long periods of light (10-12 hours) for proper spine development!
oh...maybe thats why one of my new batches of fry look like their spines are 70 degree angles
I used to have a bunch of fry with awful back problems till i upgraded my lighting i run my light 16hrs a day
Me
Thank you for that info.
Did not know that, thanks
Thanks for the advice as I just had little fry got loads of plants in the tanks so I'm hoping they dont get eaten. Keep up the good work buddy
Thanks so much! Answered all my questions in no time- Very Much Appreciated! It's happenin right now-
I love learning everyday I learn something thanks for sharing
Great tips! I lam starting out an aquarium fish hobby and this channel inspires me. I will be using your tips in improving my setups.
They look beautiful and amazing!
Awesome video on breeding guppies!!! Subbed! Hope to see you put out more videos!
Thank you for Video - already new this, but good to make video for other people, I too love the floating breeding box very useful that it floats! One thing to mention that I went over to a net one for trials = useless because the net stretches and if not careful the mother can get below to the "safe" compartment.
Also as with plastic breeding nox, Fry do swim up to the top with the mother, so can still be eaten, as you mentioned, the safest way is to remove the fry to a seperate tank which is what I will be doing :) TA
Thank for shared this video
This is great. The only livebearer I've never kept. Guess I'll have to change that 😏 Great video, and keep working the channel!
Good looking guppies- Imagine the fry are diverse and beautiful! New subscriber.
MY FAVOURITE VIDEO!!!
🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🦅🎉🤶🏻
Can you breed guppies yet
Wow they are beautiful I’m thinking of getting some.
Awesome strains of guppies u have alot of good tips too thank u for sharing it with us.
Great information. Thanks so much for sharing.
Sherry Swinney thank you!
Guppies are beautiful, I was thinking of getting some...I only have bettas and shrimp, but guppies are so tempting
BrutalRiotGirl01 do it, get a beautiful strain and you'll fall in love, they are like dogs
KeepingFishSimple so they bite and hug?great
Ch1ll ph
Oh yes, some are very vicious!
I would recommend getting a separate tank for your guppies, since beta can be aggressive to other colorful fish. If you have dull colored shrimp, you cab throw them in there. More colorful shrimp like cherries could become food.
Ch1ll ph my guppies nip at me when I put my hand in the tank so yeah in a way
Love the video, short and to the point
Thank you so much for info you shared
This was my first video of this channel good old times
I know I’m boring to most people but mine just had her first three and it’s so adorable 😂🥰❤️
Beautiful group of guppies. Cool video, looking forward to more. I subbed u 😁
Excellent care guide video alot of great info .
Nice Guppy is my favorite fish
thankyou !! finally a good video
I love Guppies I do all saltwater but I started with freshwater and I just purchased 3 fresh water tanks so I'll definitely be checking out a lot of your videos and thanks for subscribing I subscribed your channel as well
rob sool Aquatics wow. Thank you heaps. Good luck!
Thank you! How do you do your water changes and what chemicals do you use?
Nice video!! Greaaaat info👍
great fish and great video your guppies put mine to shame, one thing I would do differently move the adults instead of move the fry the adults will always be hardier and take more stress.
i love them
Great info for beginners
simple & to the point I like that, GOOD job :>}
Really good video very informative thank you 👍
Great info cheers!
Great vid I liked and I am a new sub!!🙂
Nice advice 👍👍
enjoyed this I am planning to breed endlers
Good stuff mate
Nice vid' and good advise but as guppy fry are quite sensitive to changes in water temperature and parameters I find it a better option to have a hatchery or nursery tank that pregnant females can be moved to from your main tank then use the same technique but move the mother fish out rather than the sensitive fry.
Any thoughts?
Fish! I started looking this up as a science fair project but now I just want to do it just cause! I don't even think i'll use it for the project XD
Excellent video , great accent too 😊
Nice guppies
Great Video!!
NYGOLD thank you!
Thanks now I have a good chance of having good quality guppys
Thanks man
Leaving my fry in my tank have never worked out. I have a 15 gallon with c02 and lush plants but that’s not enough after about a week all the fry are gone
Do you mean like gone dead or you don't see them ? Because if you don't see them it's because the parents ate them
Hi handsome 😊 i love guppies they are very easy to take care off i recently had a fem that made some babies and they are all doing really well all survived and i just love the colours of the guppies ❤i does separate mines after the fem make them thank u again handsome 🤗
I never used lights and I never separate. I have a 50 gallon tank with probably 200 at this point. Time to thin them out, so I'm gonna start a tank for my great nephews
Too many males in here.. >< But they're pretty!!!
Guppy males are beautiful.
But the female, meh 😰
I wish I had a male like his they are beautiful
@@haqqizillysozo I think the females look cool , more bland looking but they look like wild river fish and are much bigger
It works The like button!!!!!!!
Great info on breeding guppies, do mix all your strains together? New Sub
Jadren Aquatics thank you, yeah they do but I select the ones I sell carefully to try and keep variety.
Very cool, any idea the hardness of your water?
Jadren Aquatics yeah ph is 7.8 and I don't bother checking nitrates etc. purely bc they are guppies. I change the water once every three days. :)
How do you get the p.h level correct?
@@Leanne_w you can conduct a pH test with commercially available test conductor
Or 3, catch prego in breeder box, transfer box with guppy to other tank, wait till delivery is complete, and replace female to original tank, fry in the other. Leave female in breeder box for a couple days to rest up and feed.
aquariumfun withfish I might give that a try, thank you!
That sounds like a great idea. I recently set up a 40 gallon breeder with lots of plants and guppies and a 20 gallon long with plants to use as a grow out tank. I never thought about placing the female into the 20 to let her give birth then returning her to the 40 I guess I could only do this once though and I have 8 females with three males
Thank you it will help me a lot 👍🏼
I find that some of my fry get through the grill at the sides of the breeding boxes so I now have a few in my big tank lol x I was thinking of cutting a hole of the bottom of the breeding box and have it in my little tank so the frys will just drop in safety then return mum back into big tank just an idea lol x
New sup love jour vid :)
Brought 20+ guppie fry, with 4 adults one is pregnant. they came from a tank without a heater. So will I have to get them use to lower temps to start with? Was on 27 celcus. turned down to 22 when he said they don't need a heater?
Thank you! my guppy is about to have babies, lets see what I get :)
Wht happened??
What do you feed the newborn babies?
I'm think about having a 15
What do you feed the fry?
bro i have a big problem!!!!pls help
as a new guppy fry keeper i kept my first batch of frys(9 frys) in a very small container like 1 gallon
and then as a consequence they got stunted
they are now 2 months old but still look like 1 week old
so when i realised this i now shifted them to a 5 gallon tub .
now can they regain their growth or will they always remain stunted like this?
Also the gravid spot will become quite dark prior to birth.
what about water hardness (gh)?
Like. You have beautiful guppy's. Greetz from Holland.
Will their numbers self regulate?
#202☑ Nice video and advice! 🎏🙌
AquariumCop wow my brother got someone famous to reply!
Can you have multiple females in the same breeding box ?
Thank you.
Got 3 males and 4 females guppy from the local pet store the water quality they came in was bellow 6ph and nitrate was 80ppm. My water is pH 7.2 and nitrate 5-10 ppm. 3 of the fish have died already am I doing something wrong ?
This is going to help one of my guppy that I brought had fry the same day I hot her
The Toxic Fish I'm glad
What is the name of that orange tail with black body guppy?
Was this made in iMovie I remember using iMovie for my school projects
We are setting up 16x 10 gallons this week for Guppy Breeding. The plan is as soon as babies drop move the parents to a new tank and since we can not monitor tanks 24/7 give them lots of hiding places this way as fast as they are born they have a chance until we discover them and can rush the parents to a new tank. We talked last week about making a guppy tank then we bought out a fish store and well now we have random guppies so time to get them sorted and making babies. lol
how many days will take to come fry out off.And my guppy die very fast what's the reason.
Very nice video ☺️...it will help for Beginners 👍...I Subscribe ur channel 👍
Prathmesh Aquatics thank you heaps!
Will it not be easier to remove the parents than to shift umpteen fries?
Hi, can I put my guppies with my betta? My betta is not moving much, I think he's bored. Do bettas eat guppies?
And for the fry I just put then in a another aquarium real simple
Nice video. But I do have to make some remarks that guppies as such don't always eat their fry. It depends more on the nature of each individual specimen wether it will eat the fry or not. Guppies do well also around 20°C. Despite of the fact that guppies in the wild are coming from tropical countries, they do have a subtropical nature. That why they can be released in regions where it's less warm.
Do fries need filter and oxygen?
I have a 55 gallon, could I leave the fry in the tank would they still have a chance at surviving? I only have one male and two females, a pleco and some snails.
Kaiya's crazy Zoo if you have lots of places for them to hide it should be all good
How do you take out the female from the breeder box ?
The female guppy died after I took her out from the breeder box.
Any suggestions on what I should have done
She probably just died from stress, I would just be more careful the next time you do it. Maybe someone else has some better advice? You can check the keepingfishsimple facebook group as well if you have any more questions 😄 thank you for watching!
I accidentally bought a pregnant guppy. How do I know if she's close to birth. I know it says boxy look but she's still pretty active
I need info about breeding guppies
Gosh those damn fry are SO HARD to catch though! I choose to let them hid and feed parents more defrosted foods which they love
Is algae a problem for you or the guppies, how?.
Guppies are born pregnant. Separate and breading boxes are very good. Have found the fry in the filter medium and LOTS of hiding places.
Hi , nice video.
How long for the baby guppy to grow to an adult?
3 months
My guppy gave birth two times in the past 2 weeks and total of more than 30 babies
That’s why they have hiding spots
Like most other livebearers? Not all fish right? I also noticed that you said you use a breeder cage, however, I notice some if not most of my females die. I noticed that you never mentioned the black dots. f
🤔 my guppys not eaten the fry is it a species thing?
1000th like
Do guppies eat algae??
guppies can easily reproduce themselves can survive without being fed, even the canals in our camp is full of colored guppies its become common.
I have two guppies one is a blue male and I have a red and white female in a 10 gallon, they get along very well of course but I just got them yesterday, my goal is to breed them and get enough to put in my 750 gallon pond, when will they breed?
I think she might be pregnant anyway though
she is probably already pregnant, but in a couple months you will have lots! just make sure you have lots of places for the fry to hide in!
The commercial I saw was the ADE paint. Thanks for shopping paint “Gina” which was her name 😂like how trump says China he says Gina
We have the same amount of subs :P
Not now
Hi! If my guppy give birth, can I put them in a 3/4 gallon tank with 💡 but no heater ...? Will they die if I don’t have a heater ? Thanks en avance!
As long as your climate is warm they should be fine
@@KeepingFishSimple I live in Scandinavia and the temperature outside now is 18-20 C, inside it's about 23-25 C so....?
hi one of my guppies have been in the top corner all day. i have 3 male guppies and 6 neon tetra in a 100litre tank. two are swimming all over the place and the other is in the corner. could someone give any advice
Is the tank cycled? Nitrite poisoning can have that effect. Your fish is doing what it would in a low oxygen environment, but only because it doesn't know what else to do. Test your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels.
PvtJoker308 thank you for your reply. yes it has been cycled.. every time ive done a test with a test strip nitrite levels have been clear with nitates being very low. i got some neon tetras with the same guppies and i still have all neon tetras (6) all my guppies died within 2 weeks
What you feed to the babies????
Aniket Prakash crushed fish flakes work well.
Aniket Prakash
how to make guppy fish big
just try give them the favourable condition in the tank or the container in which u kept them and change the water at a regular interval of days or add half amount of fresh waters to the tank. it will grow faster
