- Viking style bracers tutorial with some advanced technics. These are up to 7 mm thick and fit perfect for every costume for larp, cosplay or similar. The pattern is available in my shop, check the link down below.
Difficulty: medium Tools needed: basic
Recommended materials
- 3,5 mm (9 oz) veg. tanned leather
- 1,5 mm (4 oz) thick, 5 mm wide (1/5 inch) veg. tanned leather (or similar) straps
Tools: edge trimmer, cutting knife, burnisher, hole punch, leather carving tools, bone folder, clamps, sewing material, diamond shaped chisel, wing divider, glue, rivets

Why do you not dye the inside?
Personal preference, usually you can't see it, the flesh side takes up a lot more dye and apart from dip dye and a spray gun it is very difficult to get an even colour.
@@NilsBeardfoot would it work to burnish the inside then dye?
@@sergeantraven3015 Well brunishing closes pores but here is the question if you are able to do that evenly and you may have a lot of rub off in the surface, but you may save some dye. What I do for regular belts to look good on both sides I dye it idealy with a paint brush to get an even colour and then add on the flesh side gum tragacanth and brunish it or add neatsfoot oil, both will enrichen the colour and this way give it an more even look. This works also with other dying techniques but not as well as with a paint gun and you still need more dye.
The best is to go for some test pieces and find the way that works the best for you.
