    As of 2017 the oil drain plug is an 8mm allen bolt

    Kudos to you for wearing protective latex gloves when changing oil. Most youtubers don't do this and it can lead to people getting exposed to contaminated used oil which has been proven to cause cancer. good for you for changing the oil responsibly.

      I agree 💯. I'm changing mine tomorrow and forgot what kind of oil I needed to get at AutoZone. I like to write down a list of what will be needing before going to get the supplies so I don't accidentally forget something. Thanks!

    Changed out the oil on my 2015 Yaris this morning right after watching this video. I used the Fram xg4967 oil filter and Mobil 1 5w 30 high mileage full synthetic oil

    This was a 2007-2011 yaris in the video. I have a 2009. It takes 3.9 quarts of oil. 4 quarts is a tad over, but not really enough over to damage the engine by overfill. This guy did a great job and did it right though.

    I jack up the other side so more oil is drained out due to location of the drain plug. I either jack up the drivers side or drive the drivers side tire up on to a ramp.

    GOOD VIDEO. I will note, Fram filters are trash. The Supertech (walmart) filters are actually high quality and cheaper than Fram.

    To let the oil flow out smoothly it helps to open te filler cap on top of engine.

      Go with OEM filters
      They will never let you down
      And designed to fit perfectly
      You also need a small oil filter wrench 2-3” should do it

      Well ive only done it by quarts or liters..and its 3.9 quarts which is 3.7 liters

    Anytime you put out a new video I watch. Never know when you'll learn something new.
    That customer will appreciate the full synthetic oil you put in. I recently used it and I'm a believer now.
    Do you have any Toyota coolant flush videos? I think I know how to do it anyways, was JW.

    I HAVE. YARIS. 2008. But I HAVE QUESTION. WHERE THE OIL LEVEL SUPPOSED HAVE TO BE. BETWEEN THE 2 holes. Or. Up to the SECOND HOLE. UP ? I hope you understand my question. Thank you

      Its recommended to be in the middle of the 2 holes..the lower hole is the low mark...and the top mark is full...i prefer to put it at the full mark but thats my personal preference just because sometimes the owners dont check their oil level and it gives them more of a safety buffer

    Is it recommended to have the car level before the first start? I have been using ramps and starting the car while the front still elevated.. 🧐

      No its fine to start the car on a ramp, only thing when checking ur the oil level youll want that to be on a flat level surface

      Its a good oil, ive used it a few times..and they do have the required certifications..including dexos which is one of the top oil certifications

      @@RomeoMoDernoo well those timing chains dont necessarily have an interval, if the oil is changed at proper intervals theyll last much longer since they'll be well lubricated..its more the timing chain guides that will begin to wear out...but if u start hearing any rattle at startup, longer to start or misfires across the cylinders..then thats when youll wanna be sure to do that service

    The car must be level. Do not do it the way this video does.

      Doesnt have to be level, no matter how u do an oil change youll never get all the oil out..the drain pan is rounded on inside so the oil naturally slides out the drain bolt.

      A more constructive reply would have been 'As a bonus step, used stands in the rear too to even out the car to get that last bit of oil out'

    Im losing my mind man. My Yaris has a circle or something instead of a traditional bolt, because why wouldn't they, and none of my allen wrenches fit it and it seems to just be completely round, so im not sure how they would fit it anyways. A little annoyed.
