    At 5:24? The medal mini "dowel markers?" The same thing can be accomplished by using a medal screw!
    Just place the wood pieces together and press down or tap the side of the wood piece and Viola it's marked!

    I really like this design. While I also prefer the look of natural wood, the idea of sanding the slat openings once a year IS something of a deterrent. Sigh. Excellent video and a great design, Linn.

      Thanks so much John! I wouldn't go to crazy about sanding the slat openings, just add a bit more finish.

    Simple yet still beautiful and with a few minor modifications, well within the skill set of even a novice woodworker.
    The only thing I would do differently is use carriage bolts instead of hex for a more refined look.

      Agree, that would look nice!

    I really like the simplicity of the look, design and construction! My one suggestion would be to bevel the back at the 15° angle for more bearing surface on the seat slat. However, that does expose more side grain to keep an eye on as it weathers. Glue would obviously provide a second fixing point to prevent rotation but negate disassembly. Last suggestion is to rabbet the face of the back slat to make a notch for the back to sit in. More concerns about alignment and weathering though. It's always a trade-off!

    It feels like the back rest would swivel if your back pushes (horizontally towards the back) onto the upper part of the back pannel.

    great summer project, does the back spin any as it is only one bolt on each side?

      @darbinorvar  26 дней назад +2

      No, since it rests onto the seat, it sits very stable and doesn't move at all.

    Make that bench a little longer, and you’ll be able to stretch out on it for a nap.
