About Friends of Cancer Patients:
Founded in 1999, FOCP was established to help alleviate the financial and emotional burden that cancer often imposes on patients and their families, and to promote awareness about the six early detectable forms of the disease; breast, cervical, prostate, skin, testicular, and colorectal cancers. Apart from its awareness role, FOCP is committed to providing moral and financial support to thousands of patients and their families of all ages and nationalities across the UAE.
Moral Support
A good mental attitude is well known for having a beneficial effect on treatment outcomes. It is well established that patient psychology, positive outlook and strong self-esteem are important factors in the healing process of cancer or any disease for that matter.
The “Colour my World” programme is part of the FoCP’s increased emphasis on patient-focused events, which includes entertaining trips, sports activities and workshops throughout the year. Organizing such events on a regular basis offers cancer patients the opportunity to meet, connect with one another and engage in enjoyable activities, to build unity and encourage them to work together to overcome the disease.
Friends of Cancer Patients has arranged for a virtual 'Life-Coaching' session for cancer patients and survivors in collaboration with NLP Coach/ Ms. Jasmina Gafurovic (Evolve Lifestyle Coaching). The webinar has addressed the topic "Self Care and Emotional Resilience" and its importance to manage stress and improve overall wellbeing and mental health.
نظمت جمعية أصدقاء مرضى السرطان جلسة افتراضية "تدريب المهارات الحياة" لمرضى السرطان والناجين بالتعاون مع مدرب معالجة اللغة الطبيعية/ السيدة ياسمينا جافوروفيتش. تناولت الجلسة الإفتراضية موضوع "الرعاية الذاتية والمرونة العاطفية" وأهميته في التخفيف من حدة التوتر بسبب الضغوطات اليومية و دوره في تحسين الصحة العقلية و النفسية.
