- Its been a big few days, a long few months and an absolutely huge morning but the E39 M5 is finally repaired and back on the road! This was just after after getting back from the road worthy and registration office.

"WOW" that sound is intoxicating. She looks like a million bucks. Super glad you kept the M5 shell. All the love has payed off into what is one fantastic machine.
And the weather. I'd love the ozzy lifestyle. Here in the UK it's business as usual. 5°C of dreary grey drizzle or it's pouring it down. Off with the cap and out comes the cossack.

i dont know why, but it always suprises me that how good clean e39 m5 looks like.
The sound is clean and crisp, like a tiger.

One of my favorite you tube channel ! Keep up the great work. Now as a E39 540i 6spd owner i have two suggestions that made a huge improvement to me going through the gears. Get an E60 550 shifter fork. Gives you shorter and more precise feel. Then get your self a shift knob for a csl. These were two of the first mods I did to my BMW. I know you will enjoy

Great stuff Lads, makes me miss e39 M5 badly. I had active auto works tune and CAI, relocated my IAT, did a low ratio diff as well. My exhaust was centre cat out , resonators out, mufflers out. All I put back was a couple of hot dog resonators, zero drone. It was an epic car. Congratulations buys.

This car is from an era where Bmws were "reliable", purity and experience were everything, and BMW M division actually put in race derived engines into their M cars. Well gosh dang it.. Now you got me looking for an M5😁 .
I don't think you'll regret that at all. It might not be as quick as N54 car, but holy hell the experience of driving it simply isn't comparable.

I know the V10 sounds like an F1 engine, the N54 is insane and all modern M cars are faster, but this the car of my dreams.

You can do it! Just take your time and double and triple check. Oh and dont forget that tube that goes between the oil pump and the block.

Good.to see it back on the road! Time for a shifter rebuild. I had good luck with the cheap ebay short shifter for $20, just grease it before you install it.

Thanks for watching and supporting the channel, really appreciate it. Andrew is still waiting on axles and diff brace. Shipping is just a nightmare right now, plus it seems a lot of companies having stock issues. This coming week, will be prepping the cars for euro day next weekend. But probably going keep the N54 at this current power level until the upgraded axles arrive.

The supercharger is a vortech v3si, they are pretty noisy when they idle but is perfectly normal

Dusty or not, that's a good looking engine.
It looks awesome, if a little low in the back, could be that the ground where its parked is uneven, but having an E39 at the standard ride height makes a hella difference when it comes to driveability.
When the splitter is on the front bar, it looks sweet on flat ground, but the tyre to guard spacing is a little closer in the rear.
I need a louder exhaust... that thing is incredible!

To be honest it just the cost. Have been talking with the owner of the property about it, but nothing has come of it yet.

That is another great day, incredible acceleration, must be more than 700 hp? Are you guys going to put it on the dyno? I’d love to see that
Well when we had the intake off the other day, we got the injector part number and they are only the 380cc injectors which i think are the smallest you get on the ESS kits. So its probably around 550hp at the crank. That said the exhaust just makes it sound so good. This car is also stripped out a little. So could be close to 100kgs lighter than a stock car.

Wow sounds epic, makes me remind me of my years with my E39 M5 before we got heavily taxed over here in Belgium... :( If it wasn't an almost 4000 euros roadtax bill each year, I would buy one tomorrow...

Leave the sparkos in for a while. May return it to full sleeper status at some point.

Supercharger = NA’s instant throttle response vs turbocharger “surge” of torque. The instant snap when you crack the throttle really slams you back in the seat.

Yes it does, will try and get a supercharger oil change done this week.

There is one thing I noticed on an earlier video, when you tested the rear turn signals I saw the rear lights flash on the other side
This could be a problem with mass or a light bulb mounted in a wrong way

A lot of centrifugal superchargers sound like a barrel of bolts, especially if they have straight cut gears. Hopefully nothing to worry about.

Does that standard airbox seals, (one over the engine ) do enough to seal the boost from the super charger pressure? I thought they manufacture a aluminium tank instead of the oem airbox over the throttle body area
It seems to be luck of the draw as to how long the intakes last before cracking. A lot of people dont have issues though. Would love an upgraded plenum one day.

What boost levels and gas was this? Any idea what kind of power its making?..sounds fast as hell!
It's got the 96mm pulley on it, so it should be around 5.5psi at peak and possibly be up to 550hp at the crank.

Super sprint headers, still got cats and mid pipes, but had rear muffler delete.

Yeah, the car had a full respray and the M mirrors were still at the painters at this point..... Mind you they still havent made it to the car yet.
@@ZeroTo60Tube yeah i feel your sentiments. My M5 went for a re-spray on Feb 18... They still have my car to this day. My only solace is the belief that it will come out PERFECT!!!
