Hydraulic oil will attack the rubber seals & they will deteriorate. Use silicone spray, silicone grease or rubber grease

I've just moved on from my 3rd n54, all mhd 2+ and bar niggles, they're awesome engines. But the sound of that charged s62 😍 it'd have to be s62 for weekend fun, n54 as a more practical daily 😝 both awesome machines. Great work guys. Car life, when you look forward to watching these videos every evening here in the UK when the kids are asleep and the Mrs has gone to bed 👌 🤣

Guys, get rid of the 45PSI boost guage!!!! Better off with a 10PSI gauge and get better granularity on the gauge... Nice job sounds great!

Have to wiggle battery terminals to get it to power up again

It's because of the accident and I dont drive the car very often I always disconnect it so the terminal is always a bit lose so I can just push it on and off when I need to.
Just check your terminals are clean and not corroded and then make sure the terminals do up tightly. On my other E39 the terminals were bottoming out before becoming fully tight.

Awesome car 👍. Thanks for the video! I vote S62 superchaged over anything. I've got a 2002 M5 supercharged with a lot of mods and love it! Can't beat the insane torque, instant power and seemingly unlimited pull all the way up to redline, also exhaust note is unlike anything else. Such a good motor.. 170k miles and she's been supercharged with over 600whp for over 6 years now... driven hard daily and it just won't break.

@@ZeroTo60Tube I went with the Stage 2 RK Autowerks intercooled supercharger setup with 2.95" pulley and Meth Injection. Walbro 340 fuel pump, Supersprint headers, cat deletes, tuned resonators and Meisterschaft mufflers. After blowing just about every intake plenum I found including the aluminum ones, I went the Evolve Billet plenum and this has held up well plus noticeable difference in power. UUC twin disc clutch is holding up well but seems to be pretty hard on transmissions.. I'm on my 5th trans in the past 3 years due to the power.. 2nd gear likes to strip out if I shift too hard and hook as I only run Nitto NT-01 tires and they hook well. My Pilot Super Sports would light up in smoke in 1st and 2nd, sometimes third... fun but useless.. lol. Working on a T-56 transmission swap to fix this weak point. Lots of other supporting mods including radiator and fan upgrades, new sub frame and suspension bushings, DINAN diff support, new shock tower braces, coil overs, stop tec big brakes, etc. Still stock internals on the engine. I'll eventually do a fully built engine once this one decides to let go, if ever.. In the mean time I keep pushing it to see where it will go. I'll end up posting a detailed video on the car sometime soon.

@@strahinjaboskovic305 It's hard to believe but if I'm super light on the throttle, on the highway, I'm able to get 36mpg.
@@EESDesignLLC actually make sense...just when you rip it spend much more fuel,natural s62 eating fuel so supercharger can only help :)

N54 on a roll 62 on a dig all day
I hate boost gauges that are massively optimistic. Get a 0-15 gauge in that car so you can see the sweep with more resolution.
Love seeing this get fixed up. A bov should be open at idle. Just FYI. That’s normal.
Yeah its crazy going up to 45psi when you're peaking at 5.5-6. I'm yet to decide which gauge but i'm thinking of getting a multi-all-in-one gauge that can replace all of them

S62 mostly stock just header back exhaust and tune. Sounds gnarly. One of the best cars BMW ever made hands down.

Not at the moment, they might end up back in there... i'm not 100% sure which way to go with the build yet but if I change my mind in the future i'll let you know 👍

Noise, definitely the S62. But tunability there isn't much around that can touch the legend that is the N54....
Yeah I'll give you that one. You can double the power of a N54 without opening the engine but the S62 requires some serious work if you want to double its power.

Sorry mate, but it's team S62 for me. The 5 is prettier (well it will be once the damage is sorted), sounds gorgeous and I prefer the inside too. I reckon the 3 will be quicker though... just :)

The 335 is still getting tuning revisions and is getting faster and faster each time. It'll be finished soon and we'll do some runs in her then. I haven't seen much about the 20Ts but they very well could be out of the same factory

I thought M5 was V10 , M3 is V8.
2005-2010 m5 is v10 but 2002 is 5L v8.
2007-2013 m3 is 4L v8. Lots of different engines throughout the years
Are you able to swap a Dual-Clutch transmission and mate the transmission to a S62 engine? I believe there is an adapter from PMC Motorsport, but how would you fix the coding so everything is all smoothe? I never learned how to drive a manual, and I think it would be awesome if I could swap a S62 engine into my 2001 E38 SWB and mate it with a DCT, and basically drive it like an automatic.
You could do it. If you must go dct. I would look in to running the entire engine and gearbox with a maxxecu pro. It’s a massive amount of high level work. But would be the best way.
If you use a dct from a e9x v8 m3 it’s not even too bad to modify to bolt on to the s62.
