- Berserk Chapter 364 came out earlier this morning. This chapter marks the final time Kentaro Miura worked on Berserk. Berserk has been a life long work of his and I'm happy the magazine put out Chapter 364 for the whole world to see. You can look at CHapter 364 as a tribute for Miura-sensei. His last manuscript and his lasting legacy for mangaka. He defined Dark Fantasy as we know it and many people were inspired by him. I feel like this chapter is a very Berserk like ending.

Hey Chibi! I’ve been watching your channel for years and this my first time leaving a comment. Berserk is truly a masterpiece one of the best stories ever written. RIP the legend Kentaro Miura I hope that one day we will get that proper berserk Animation. This last chapter was an emotional ride and I’ll miss listening to your reviews and reading my fellow berserk fans comments 😭. RIP stay blessed everyone!

The scene with guts loosing his grip hit really freaking hard man.. that gave us the realization that guts body was really deteriorating. And after a second read it felt like Miura was self inserting again. His body was getting weak and it was becoming difficult to do the most basic part of his craft (replace the dragon slayer with a pen).
I also firmly believe no one can truly speculate with any modicum of accuracy what could happen next. Miura has written guts to be such an unbelievably human character emotionally that trying to predict his actions after seeing the child is also Griffith wouldn't be possible. You'd have to be in his mind, thats how complex guts feels as a character right now.
The first of the struggles has finally found his peace. I'll always remember Miura for as long as I live.

I had the same thoughts. Picking up the story as an assistant would already be a very daunting task, coupled with this final chapter I can't even imagine. How would you continue from here without knowing the direction the original author wanted to take it? I have so many questions and yet if this is the end I can be satisfied with it.

It has been a bit more than 4 months now that Kentaro Miura passed away and yet it still feels like I woke up and saw the message all over the internet just less than a week ago.
I started to get into Berserk only late last year but it has been one of my absolute favorite mangas and Guts' story has impacted me quite a bit, so I will always be thankful for him to put out an amazing story like this that I'll probably never forget in my life. It has been a great journey and I am content with this as an end, even though it means we'll never get to see these characters again or the vision Miura had for his original conclusion

They did say that evil can’t enter this island, and that the Moonlight Boy has no evil in him. I suppose that what’s left of Griffith’s humanity is somehow connected to the boy? It just means that he can only feel emotions through the boy from time to time. I think that it also shows just how sad and lonely Griffith truly is even though he has gotten his own kingdom. What’s the point of achieving your goal if you have to sacrifice so many people including your companions in order to get there? Perhaps a part of Griffith finally now knows that his dream has become a nightmare that he will never escape from? Whereas Guts, Casca, and all of his companions have found some happiness, and a safe place to live. They say that loving and living well is the best revenge, so perhaps that’s the best sort of revenge we can expect in this series? I think that one day this ‘Age of Darkness’ will end and give way to light, I just don’t know when that will happen, but there’s always hope am I right?
Rip Kentaro miura. You’re lifelong masterpiece has finally given a good closure. I may not have not know much about Beserk, but I’m aware of how of an impact it has. You’re legacy will forever live on in history. All we can say is Thank You. Maybe one day, we can see your vision fully animated faithfully.
I'd remember reading for the first time in '07 and just being blown away by the story itself. I'm saddened that a legendary mangaka passed away...but at least he left us with a phenomenal masterpiece such has his. R.I.P. to the legend that is Kentaro Miura.
I think I need to read Berserk. I play Final Fantasy XIV, and the day he passed, the city Ul'Dah (across every day's center and world) was lined with Dark Knights, each with a camp fire blazing in front of them. The only non-Dark Knights seemed to be the Bards - each playing Guts' theme from the anime. This went on for 5 days before the last of the Vigil left the streets. I took screen shots and took part in it as well. There were players walking the line passing out camp fire minions to anyone who didn't have one. I've never seen anything like that before.

@@ChibiReviews Yessir. I remember I subbed to your channel around 2013-2014 when you were going through the Berserk volumes and I had only been reading Berserk since 2013 myself. Long journey, longer for countless others, that might've ended today.
Good luck man! It seems everyone has had the exact same idea which is why the deluxe volumes are constantly out of stock. Definitely picking up all the volumes over time as well tho (already have the first 2).
@@wolfbrigade8042 Yeah I bought the first 5 in February and 6-7 in April. 8 has been out of stock for close to 2 months. It's a hassle but I'm not pressed to buy them.
I have such intense respect for this man and his department.

Today is my birthday and this is the best gift I got I just turned 20, I starting reading berserk 5 years ago and it helped me so much. Keep struggling against the odds. (It really helped me with my childhood traumas) I know that some plots didn't conclude but that's just life you never really have conclusions to things.
It's hard when you realise that you can never going to get the original idea of the original author. It's the same with Highschool of the dead. For me both are masterpieces. And both authors took their ideas with them.
This chapter made me cry. That ending was so powerful.
I'm in my mid 20s and pretty sure 50 years later, if I'm still alive then, if someone asks me "what's the best series you ever read" i will answer them berserk. Never forget this awesome series
All we can hope for is that one day, Berserk Historia is released, with unseen sketches, panels, and hopefully Miura-Sama’s script for how the series was supposed to conclude and how the loose threads would be resolved.🌀 ⚔️ 🛡
At least we can have some solace in knowing that Guts’ journey is far from over. Whether we see it or not is a separate matter. I’m just glad that the editors clarified that they absolutely have Miura’s best interests at heart

Regardless or not if it’s truly the end, then what a journey this has been. My favorite story ever, a true masterpiece all the way. I felt so strange reading this and was all sorts of emotional. He and his story will always be my inspiration, teacher and idol for what imagination can really do and be. Rest In Peace and I’ll always love and read berserk till I’m gone myself. When I accomplish my goals I’m gonna give the credit to people like Miura that really impacted me and he’s right at the top.
Berserk was a PERFECT story but I will say I cant believe you if your satisfied with that ending. U can acknowledge it was a great journey but I cant believe if your not sadden that we wont see Kentaro Miura vision completed

I think this is a fucking fantastic chapter and does a good job of staying true to the characters and leaves off on an interesting and heartfelt emotional cliffhanger, but I wouldn’t be totally against it continuing. I would’ve liked for him to had been able to give it an actual ending but for what it’s worth and the whole current context, we are super lucky that this is the chapter it leaves off on. It leaves questions and does a good job of it. It leaves it feeling interpretable and I love that aspect. Regardless of whether this is the end, or whether it keeps going, it’s been a hell of a ride and I’ll support it either way.
Life is an adventure but it can end much too soon for all of us. All you can do with that fact is decide what to do with the time you have with it. Wallow in place or find some passion that drives you.
Kentaro was a talented and fortunate man to have found that passion. Most of us fumble our way from one door way to the next just trying to understand the concept.

I only started getting into berserk a little over a year ago, haven’t gotten too far yet, so I’m not all caught up, however berserk has been my absolute favorite manga I’ve ever read, it saddens me deeply that this may be the end, however I am fully content with leaving things the way they are, Kentaro Miura thank you so much for everything you did for us, I hope you rest easy knowing you’ve impacted so many others in a positive way
Guts and Griffith are some of the greatest characters ever designed in any form of fictional work imo.

I think its rather poetic that Berserk wont have an end. Always struggle on even with no end in sight. Its what the story teaches us.

In my own opinion, I would enjoy a continuation of this series to its conclusion if it's possible with a respectful team behind it. I know people will argue that it's the journey and what not but the ending should still matter.

I'm really interested in see what happens from here. If this is the end it's the end. But if he outlined where everything is going and his assistants continue the story, that would be amazing. I'll accept either outcome, but I would love to know which it will be.

Honestly, i dont mind if Berserk ends here. But if there's any outline or notes or anything regarding Miura's plan for Berserk I hope they could publish it in the form of a concept artbook, novella or hell, even an online post will do just so we could see what Mr.Miura had in store for us this whole time

Considering that Berserk was a part of the majority of Miura’s life, I think it’s very possible that Miura would want the story to continue and finish, of course it may also not but he was clearly very passionate about his magnum opus
Still can't process it, sigh... Despite many serious real life problems, it still hits hard - this series was too personal and important. Will probably take a look year later, don't need more tears now.

Good closure my ass. This was a cop out plain and simple. So much of the story left untold; highly upsetting.
My bet is they are testing the waters. To see if people are accepting of someone else taking charge and finishing the story, not to mention figuring out if someone can finish it.

Ya know honestly the child doesn’t even have to really be Griffith if they wanted to go back to it they could explain that because of the connection the moon child has with Griffith it could just be his way of communicating to them with what small bits of humanity he has left it’s a stretch but it’d be really damn hard to have like two griffiths like “oh no that’s evil me we gotta kill him” and it’d just feel kinda jangy without Griffith as a whole coming into meet his hand in some way with the path he chose.
Is the volume they talked about in the note gonna be a limited time edition volume or is there no more news regarding what the volume is gonna be?
At the very least, i hope they would at least release a statement as to what the author actually did plan out the story would go. I mean it is clear at least they he did leave behind notes and the like of where the story would of went had it continued and how it ended.
So to me it is not really matter of them continuing it(personally i still think they should but im fine ending it here) but that they can at least release like a general outline of what would of happened to everyone at the end. I mean people have been following this series for nearly 30 years. I think they deserve to at least know that.
Well we shall wait, it seems right now they are still deciding on the direction they would take.

Hmmm…. I’m not a Berserk fan, but I understand how incredible this series is. As a person and artist, I would have loved to see this amazing series to have its ending. At the same time, WHO could finish it? NO, who has the COURAGE to even try to finish it?
That been said, this series will be a legacy that I hope it’ll never be forgotten. And who knows, maybe in the future, I’ll finally pick it up, just out of respect…..
I think Kentaro Miura would have wanted to finish his story, I based this on how much passion he put on berserk from beginning to end. Getting that to happen is a whole nother thing as to who would pick up the pen and continue it forward to it's conclusion at the level of a mangaka Miura was.

It works for a good ending to the official Canon of the manga, but I hope that they do work on it occasionally to try and finish the story
I never expected that a frictional character could be this impactful, among thousands of mangas, thousands of protagonists, why is this manga, and him, the only one dazzling so much that makes the others look dim.. RIP kentaro, you are the goat.

This was probably the best way to end the story due to the situation. My only question would be if they plan on continuing the series under a different title. If they want to continue it, they could, but there would probably be a lot of pressure due to the popularity of the series and the community expectations. I don't want to say the community would be "toxic" per se, but there is a reason that so many cried out when Kentaro died that it even crossed many platforms like FF14. They are free to try it, but they need a really solid game plan.

The fact that the ending was ambiguous was very Berserk, I gotta say. Lol But the more I look at this chapter, the more perfect it seems as an ending. Guts losing his grip on his sword but spending time with his child. Casca being at peace. Everyone living happily in Elfheim. And to top it all off, Griffith appearing before us all at the very end via the moonlight child. RIP Miura. What an ending.
i cant think of this series witout kentaro working on it its just better to end the series here cause im glad i was able to witness this story by the hands of miura himself and dont want it to changed by continuing just cause for keeping his legacy alive . for me berserk has ended here ty kentaro miura for making this series may you rest in peace
What a struggle Guts; seeing your child morph into evil must be the worst type of pain that Guts has to endure.
How does one overcome this; this seems an impossible task to conclude.

I honestly would love anything the new writer makes i would hold dear the effort even if i don't like it there is always Miura's ending which is this chapter is up to you if you consider the following cannon, but what really bothers is how people used to make fun of Miura saying that he is probably playing dragon quest with the writer of hxh while the man was dying and in pain and now that he passed away people are now worried about the hxh writer quite hypocritical.
