RIP Kentaro Miura I remember I found out about this series because of Dark Souls back in 2014 and...I never related to a character more than Guts, and even when I read an interview with Miura and how he felt when he made his work...this man inspired me so much and I found my own voice in writing because of him.
Things will never be the same, but...I hope he's doing okay now. I've spent alot of time crying today because of the news and I got this empty pit in my heart...prayers to him, his family, his friends, and to the other fans of Miura.

He literally defined and set the standards to what is a great manga, a great story, a great protagonist, great art. Berserk is the pinnacle of the manga genre and Miura a legend. Guts and his struggling taught us to never give up and helped us during some difficult periods in our lives. And it will continue to do it. Thank you for everything, Kentaro. May God rest your soul and I hope that, in the afterlife, you will tell us the rest of the story...

Berserk was my first seinen manga, for probably most people as well. As someone wishing to become a writer, he has inspired me in world-building and character growth so much just like the many other game designers, mangakas, etc.
Rest in peace Kentaro Miura, never to be forgotten until his millions of fans pass away as well as no one can stand against the tests of time. Could this be a Mozart requiem where one of his assistants could carry on his vision for the series? I have been crying non stop since I woke up, berserk has been part of my life for the past 10 years, it really does feel like I lost a friend, I have never had a friend for even 2 consecutive years, when things got dark I would remember my dreams that would be wasted, I would remember how neither guts nor Griffith ever gave up, this manga taught me to always struggle and never ever give up, it has shaped my personality more than any other story or piece of media throughout my life. I am tortured at the thought he is no longer here, and his legacy will be called “unfinished”, however part of me thinks there is a certain grace for it to be left alone so that the entire series had the sweat tears and blood of Miura, Miura, the world will never forget you, And I can already see the future adaptations since berserk as a series never got a proper treatment like fma or jojo

    Kentaro Miura,
the man responsible as to why we see a lot of Dark Fantasies took inspiration in some way and some form from Berserk. I can't imagine a dark fantasy without Kentaro Miura ever existing.
His legacy shaped a genre and will forever be immortalized for generations. It's a grievous time for every fan, colleague, friend and family of his. But from here on, we must all look at him as a historical figure who made a definition in literature that will be respected by all. My condolences to his family and friends.
You have struggled enough, sir Kentaro Miura, may you rest peacefully and see what's on the other side of the fantasia for all of us and yourself.
On the other hand, even with Berserk eternally open from ever ending. I am satisfied how the characters turned out and developed, especially Guts as a whole. It's a shame that we can't see the conclusion, but the development they all grew on gives enough foundation to understand what their future choices in the story could have been and leave it up to the fans to see how it goes in our minds without disrespecting the legend himself.

He went in the ground as a man who saw enormous success and has touched the hearts and lives of millions accross the world. Even with the manga unfinished, his legacy is one to be cherished and celebrated, and his manga will go down as one of the most influential and finest in history and be seen as a picture of what manga perfection, looks like.
