      @MateusOliveira-hr1wp Год назад +49

Some of the new chapters already demonstrate that difficulty, being very visual conducted and lacking dialogues for many consecutive panels. But again it just reiterates that it will be an incomplete work as Mori himself stated. As long as we get some closure to the story I'll be happy too.

I don't think so. Berserk is over 30 years old, yes the characters have changed but they have been hardened into who they are, now is the test of mettle. The most important dialogue the series has seen since wounds is Rickert speaking to Guts next chapter. After that it is action that will speak for us as Guts has always done.

The first couple chapters they had were very sparse in dialogue which had me worried, but the chapters with Casca in Griffith's castle and the chapter where Guts has a mental breakdown on the boat were both very emotional and dialogue heavy. Those two chapters proved to me that they can write fantastic dialogue that stays true to the characters.

Huge respect to Mori; dude lost his best friend and by all accounts has done everything in his power to respect Miura’s wishes regarding Berserk by continuing it in a way that will be as true as possible to what Miura wanted. The statements he’s put out show nothing but respect and admiration for his best friend, and I think besides Miura being alive and writing it himself, this is the best possible outcome for the story.

      @@preternatural9417Ok gonna answer your questions:
      1. The port, you mean how impossible is to believe that there is a port in a place that was changed completely even to the point of restructuring the land after falconia appeared (out of nowhere might add), is it really hard to believe that the place where falconia (the perfect city) is currently has a port?
      2. "Zodd showing up through the world tree without explanation", yeah it's not as if it was previously shown that Griffith could travel anywhere he wanted and bring people with him through the world tree, and yes I know Griffith was there as the child before Zodd showed up, but is it really that difficult to assume that Zodd as an apostle of Griffith can also travel through the branches of the tree whenever? I mean if we are gonna call that arbitrary then everything that Griffith does is arbitrary because the plot (called destiny) is literally in his favor he has done things we thought impossible out of nowhere, really not that difficult to believe that an apostle can travel through those branches, this is not contradicting anything the story has put out, the branches are shown to be like tubes you can use to fast travel, never stating only Griffith can use them. An apostle being a super natural being may use them as well whether it is because Griffith allows it to or because they understand how it works.
      3. "The elders not defending their land". Well first, everything happened really fast, there wasn't even time for anyone to move from one side of the island to another, it was already destroyed in a matter of a couple minutes, add into that that none of the people living there ever thought of getting attacked, the island was thought to be a safe Haven impossible to reach by ill-intentioned beings. Even if they could have done something we had a whole arc seeing how this people would not even considerate or know how to attack or defend themselves, that includes the Storm monarch btw, she could have done something I agree but the destruction of the island happened too suddenly and abruptly for her to react on time. The Storm monarch felt the presence of Griffith and all she could say is "it's all happening too suddenly" and literally 2 pages later the island was already falling apart.
      4. About Isma's mom, why is that so important? For all we know she couldn't reach the island on time, we don't know it's not breaker of the story, if anything it's a nitpick at most.
      5. "Destroying the place, no explanaition", yeah it's not as if it was one of the only places in the world that he couldn't reach and could pose a threat against him, if given them enough time and resolution, yes they were pacifist, yes they were not prepared, yes they probably would've never done something against Griffith, but with a person that has complete control in the world destroying one of the only places you can't control and eliminating the threat even if that threat would've never done something against you only makes complete sense. Even if that wasn't the case, since when has Griffith given his real explanations of why he is doing what he is doing? Since he came back none of us know for sure what are his plans, we can only guess by what he is doing.
      6. "Puck and ivalera not desappearing". Dude, do you know what a mystery is? The characters don't know either and they also find it weird, we don't know and that's because the story won't give you those answers right away, that's the point.
      7. "Spending several episodes where guts' part of the plot only consisted in crying and whining over his sword not hitting Griffith and not even thinking of casca?" ARE YOU SERIOUS? At this point I'm doubting if you understood the character of guts, I'll break it down to you. The reason why he is crying is because he couldn't protect the only person from his past that he had left. The reason why he is crying about his sword is because since he was a baby the only thing that accompanied him and the only thing he could trust to solve his problems is his damn sword, he is not crying because the sword didn't work, he is crying because when he needed it the most to protect casca it didn't work. The part where guts says to himself "all of this was for nothing" do you really believe he was talking about his sword? NO, it is the fact that guts is thrown into despair because he was proven that the only thing he has been reallying on since almost birth couldn't protect the most important person in his life, that is what destroyed him, his world shattered, what's the point if the only thing he is good at couldn't save her, couldn't save any of them from Griffith? This time it broke him because at eclipse at least he could take her out of there and he survived by fighting, now not only he couldn't do that, but she was taken and he could only watch. Jesus man I felt like I explained a really obvious joke, it feels wrong to explain this because it's pretty much in your face if you paid attention to how guts is constructed.
I will say this, the visual storytelling is not as good and at times a tat confusing. I also appreciate that the attack is purely against what kouji is doing and not against his persona, so you have my respects my friends, but your comments seem to be looking for reason to hate because kouji is not Miura which is the problem.

I don’t think haters really understand how lucky Berserk’s fandom have been. First time they were lucky cause there is life-long friend of Miura who listened from him about this story for 30 years. Second time they were lucky when this friend happened to be not lawyer or pilot but mangaka. Third time they were lucky cause he even decided to finish the manga despite all the pressure (considering how big and unique this story is).
And with every new chapter I can tell they continue to improving with every aspect of the story, I’m happy we still here and going forward after Miura’s death. I wish Studio Gaga and Kouji Mori the best and hope they end Berserk on the highest note possible.

I do think that the post-Miura chapters and Mori's afterword here best justify why Berserk needs a quality anime adaptation. Not just some okay-to-good Golden Age adaptation again, a 100% faithful adaptation of the highest caliber. Give people something to be hyped about, give people the experience of witnessing Black Swordsman, Conviction, Lost Children, etc. in anime form. All the while, allow the team to revisit these recent chapters and see if anything additional could be done to improve on them or flesh them out if they felt the need to do so. It would also make Miura-Berserk to Mori-Berserk much less of a jump, since you'd keep whatever anime style they'd go with for Fantasia.
Definitely a long shot, but that's what I'm personally hoping for. I want Berserk to succeed and for Mori & Studio Gaga to stick the landing, and it's an uphill battle for sure.

Frankly, it angers me how people assume the worst of Koji Mori and Studio Gaga for continuing "Berserk" to honor Miura's wish to finish his life's work; if it feels wrong for them because it is not penned by Miura, fine, but that is not a license to speak ill of Koji Mori and Studio Gaga, whom Miura confided and vetted with great care, or to shame those reading what Koji Mori and Studio created because they want closure to a narrative so inspiring and engaging. In terms of completing a dead author's work, this is probably the best scenario you can hope for besides a literal pile of papers that outline every detail of the story with trusted parties to faithfully put it together (more or less happened with Wheel of Time's author). So far, from what i have seen in the post-Miura works, it looks like the group will do a great job in completing the series with all things considered. The interview reinforced the notion that the group are committed in doing things right to the best of their abilities. If folks dont care much for that, then they can pretend that the story ended with Griffith shedding a tear. However, i am on board to see this great story reach its conclusion.

"Mook" is a combination of the English words "magazine" and "book", often referring to guides or fanzines relating to a particular subject. For example, the magazine Gamest would include mooks dedicated to certain games (often containing character move lists, concept art, developer interviews, etc.) in their issues. For Berserk, there were a set of self-published mooks called "Berserk Freaks" from the mid 90's. One issue in particular from 1996 where Miura is interviewed while working (a work-in-progress manuscript of chapter 92 is visible on his desk) is the origin of the few infamous black and white images available online for many years.
Mori is saying he was thinking of making a guidebook for the rest of Berserk's story and its conclusion where what he remembers would be explained alongside accompanying illustrations.

Thank you very much for picking up Berserk volume 42.
From here on, it's Berserk without Miura.
Of course it will be incomplete.
I think some people find this difficult to accept.
    Even I have that feeling.
As a manga artist and a fan, I am a fundamentalist and admirer of Miura.
However, as someone who was closest to Miura and a close friend, I cannot ignore the story that Miura tried to write.
    I ask for your forgiveness.
Gaga's staff and people in charge are all doing their best to preserve Miura and Berserk.
Each volume that will be published from now on is a crystallization of these thoughts.
    Everyone who loves Berserk.
Please keep an eye on them!
And if possible, I would be happy if you could support them so that they can run to the end.
I would like to express my gratitude to everyone involved in Berserk and to everyone who loves Berserk.
