I was talking with my friends and i said
"Is it weird I interpreted Guts losing grip with Dragonslayer as, he’s losing his grip with his rage and hatred and skill because he’s so at peace at Elfheim?
Like if he doesnt have his rage anymore
    His need for vengeance
What need is there for his swordsmanship?
Why do yo need to swing a sword when theres nothing to swing it at?"

I don't know why, maybe is still too early, but in many sites the chapter has only 12 pages. I made the same mistake and infact I felt strange, the chapter felt missing parts, so I thought that Miura didn't manage to fully finish it and I cryed a bit. But the chapter was infact incomplete

Like, the godhand is too dangerous to everything to be allowed to exist. Like does the series have a lovecraftian touch, like it was all along a story of higher beigns not giving an f about whats lesser then them and humans having to live and struggle with it?

To be honest, we gotta drop the copium and see this for what it is: a cliffhanger and a chapter among many. Miura didn't expect his death and it was, as many things in life, a surprise.
This is a beautiful chapter, and although it ties many things, it leaves many others in the air. This is not a conclusion, not even close, and to think otherwise is wrong.
We gotta accept that Miura didn't finish Berserk and that is up to Young Animal and Studio Gaga to finish it, if they so choose.

IMO this manga should have wrapped up years/ a decade ago. Fans have died not seeing casca comeback from unconsciousness. Take that in for a moment. Many a people in the comment section just started berserk this year or the last 5 years so you honestly don’t know the pain of waiting months/ years for chapters. Even though part of him still loved Guts, he also hated Guts for destroying his life and taking what he had built.

Mirua said he still needs to do like 20% of the story before he died. Like 1 more big arc worth around. So there'd still be a fair bit more to adapt. This might now be the end though. Next volume of berserk was announced with no allusion to it being the last. The pulblcatation it comes out in said it doesn't have any comments whether it'll end or not. He was training his assistants to finish illustrating for him before he died so he could focus on his new manga. He also said he knew the ending. There's a good chance he told his assistants how he wants the story to go. So it may go on. Although if it does, It may go down in quality a bit as he cannot oversee the dialog. But his team is a team he hand picked who he though was very capable so 🤷‍♂️, we'll see. I hope It goes on

During the revival eclipse, the child of his two friends was absorbed, and it is the catalyst for Griffith to connect with his emotions. Not only does the child want to be with its parents, it evokes memories of Griffith's life and teaches him what he did not process given the life he had.
Griffith did not know how to accept depending on others, namely Guts. When Guts left, his world crumbled because he lost someone he too late realized was his closest friend.

The God Hand takes advantage of the desperate and the broken, the behelit is a tool of suffering.
A behelit returned to a single man twice in the whole journey, and this man denied the second time, realising what Griffith couldn't.
Femto is not Griffith. Griffith exists underneath Femto, and it is the child of his two best friends that manages to give him that awareness, albeit for a short time. When that single tear dries, he will become Femto again, devoid of emotion, the real Griffith imprisoned.

Sure, Guts has come a really far way and restored Casca (more or less). He's got new comrades, he's stronger and wiser. But Guts would not just settle down while Griffith is out there, deluding the masses. I really don't believe that he could ignore the itch to keep struggling against evil.

It's bittersweet but honestly, as someone who respects art and the time it takes to do it under your own hand, I wouldn't want anyone to continue your work you put your hard earned time and life into. I think people feel spat on by the event but this should also be a catalyst of what he would want us to learn from that co-existed within this manga. Shit happens, sometimes not the way you pictured it. However...life goes on, the more you harbor negative emotion, the more the sadness draws out and so do your surroundings. Cause and effect. To be free, you must free yourself from within. That IS what it takes to be human.

I dont think this is the real ending as its clearly a cliffhanger, for me a good ending would be Griffith separating from Femto and rebelling against the godhand, it would be perfect considering they're still on elfheim and Skullknight is present, you also have to remember that Guts still haves the behelit with himself wich could open a door to the godhand, Griffith could gather his army and fight them alongside Guts, Skullknight and the witches at Elfheim, i still think Griffith should die but maybe saving Guts to redeem himself or something, we know that the members of the godhand arent invinsible and could be defeated so it would bring an end to Skullknight's story, the godhand would stop influencing the world and the utopia that Griffith wanted would become real, the witches and magic in general would be accepted around the world and Guts would live happily with Casca, maybe on the battle he would end up crippled or unable to fight again, making him retire from being a swordsman.
But anyway this is just fanfiction that i wrote in like 5 minutes and also this is Berserk so this wont happen, anyway i dont think Berserk will end right now and will surely get a proper ending in the future.

if... BIG IF... the studio decides to finalize the series... they will do one last Kentaro classic Hiatus... and then out of nowhere... where we all least expect it.... guns a blazing full steam ahead chapters of the final battle. To mimic the master's artstyle and vision would take many yeears to even get a fraction close. The studio themselves would have to tap into some divine muse to resummon and tap into the muses that Kentaro himself used to create. Out of respect for sensei... i could see them not continuing. But maybe somewhere in a letter...a note he would have left a hint an inkling that would suggest... i have created the world and the path of all these characters... the vision is clear... give the fans the readers what they desire... finish it. And if they do... and they pull it off... it would bring the status of their studio up so greatly. We all get what we want... (sort of) and life moves on. That's just me being hopeful. I think this is the thing. This was likely the beginning of Gut's last arc of teaming up with the Heart of Griff to undo the damage he did. While the Demon represents the fulfilment of his dream, it lacks the heart that made his vision worth while thus creating this larger then life entity that exists to control all life in a forced utopia. In a strange sense; the demon basically shed all his humanity into Casca's kid like a parasite to become entirely devoid of heart and contributes to it's duel nature. At night he is who he really is. In the day, he is Griff.
So I don't think this was intended by any stretch of the imagination to be the end of Gut's journey; just showing that if Guts left the island with the armour, he wouldn't ever be coming back. The Berserk armour had already taken so much from him just to get to this point. Most likely, this would be the chapter where he would set out with his friend on one last journey to do what he should've done all those years ago; stop Griff from ruining himself.
Just wow. This chapter is spectacular in a quiet way.

    @lastmanstanding7155 3 года назад +2

I think the fact he's losing it is showing that without his berserk armor, his rage and anger, he's not at the top of his game. Guts has been fighting every single day of his life. Even with the band it's really all he did. Realistically this guy is worn down. Like look at fighters in our world it's hard to last you know. Guts being a character and seemingly super strong has surpassed that normal level but it doesn't mean he isn't worn down. And the only thing that could give him his ability and strength is his rage. That why he still needs the armor to be strong. He needs that unrelenting will to survive. And like you said he's now without a reason to really do it. His mindset has drifted from what it was. I think the only thing that would push him over would be a direct threat to his new family. But in this magic land who'd do that? But I'm sure with the introdu tion of Griffith there miura intended to directly confront this new mindset for Guts.
As it is I'm fine with the manga being done but it'll always be an unfinished artwork. Which is honestly fine but also unfortunate. If the stuido or whoever is in charge continues it I hope and wish them the best and that they keep miura's vision as much as possible. If not also fine. The series to me will be my first manga recomendation to people and have a special place in my heart to read and reread.

I wonder how much of Berserk's writing was influenced by Miura's own life and what he was going through

In the "post credits" of the chapter, they mentioned that they have no idea what's going to happen to berserk series, so I think we shouldn't think it's over.

I am a new fan of Berserk. I started the journey of reading and experiencing this story just a little over a month ago and today i finally finished it. I can't say that it was all nicely tied in a bow, at least not for now because it left me with a sense of incompletion. It was the biggest cliffhanger i have ever experienced and to know that Miura isn't here to continue the story just saddens me more. There was more to this story, Skull Knight said himself "Do not let your guard down. Causality is yet to converge" and Casca's reaction to seeing Griffith and what that would cause i mean there are more than one plot thread left to connect but i am very grateful to have experienced it the way i did.

He really doesn't need that stuff anymore but he just can't let go.

Wait.... what is that ending sentence, I keep reading it trying to figure out what it means...
OHHH I think I get it. Remember Guts in the grave of swords and Griffith is like "Just wanted to see if I feel for you still... nah... u ain't shit" And flies off.
Here he's crying for Guts and Casca, like his humanity is back by way of being that child with them. He missed them "Feel the embrace of familiar warmth" He was lonely without them "Faint feeling of loneliness" but it goes away when he changes back to Griffith "Takes but a moment to disappear... With a single tear-drop... like the morning dew." He's going back to being the cold god.

I totally agree with you, it honestly feels too perfect for it to have been coincidence, my feelings are still (and probably always will be) all over the place in regards to this ending, almost feels like I can't quite describe in mere words how I feel about this. However, to at least make an attempt it's definitely immense sadness, gratitude and respect.
Thank you so much for addressing this and sharing your feelings with us ✊🙏 it's very appreciated and I'm very grateful for the Berserk community at this time of sorrow

I don’t think Griffith was sad, he still isn’t human, The bastard didn’t even know he was the moonlight boy. The only reason he’s crying is because he’s crying his feelings away so Femto can come back. But besides that beautiful chapter as always and the falling cherry blossoms were a good fit, Goodbye Berserk, Goodbye Miura

Y do y’all hate the idea that Griffith has feelings or ever had feelings for anybody even guts I feel like that ruins his character nd turns him from a complex villain to one dimensional bad guy u feel me?
Cuz I feel like him going nd becoming the moonlight boy shows he has some regret for his decision nd it’s makes me hate him more tbh

Idk when I first watched the 97 anime for Berserk, but I feel like a decade's worth of unresolved sadness has been healed by the panel of Guts having a twig-sword fight with the Moonlight Boy ❤
I also watched your timeline video before this, the panel when Casca looks so happy to see lady Farnese again is another very healing moment for me on par with this panel; I just want Guts and Casca to be happy ffs ❤
If anything happens to Moonlight Boy I will riot by myself in the streets 😭😭

The only thing I disagree with is when you said Guts didn't really have a choice to put down his sword. I think a part of the point is that he puts down the sword, against the armor's desire and purpose, so he can be with his family. Great video all the same!

The end of berzerk is honestly coincidentally sharing a similar end as its creator. Guts is too weak from wear and tear and years of constant fighting. Hes found peace outside of battle and is now ready to end his journey. Just as miura's journey ended abruptly. Guts follows suit. Both now live at peace.
    Thank you Miura ❤❤❤

It seems to me that Guts, Casca, the Moonlight Boy, and all of his companions have found a safe haven, and a place to call home on Elfheim island. They say that “Loving well is the best revenge” or something like that. For Guts, Casca, and everyone else to live happy lives on the island would be enough of a revenge against Griffith, and all of the Darkness outside. On that note I hope that Farnese will come to love Roderick who also has feelings for her.

This is not the end, there to many things to explore, to much to see, casca can’t even take a look at gust after all. and there should be a way to separate the moonlight child from Griffit. But is a nice goodbye, to the struggler, maybe finally realizing, he doesn’t need ti fight anymore. He can be happy again.
    Thank you Miura

While Mr. Miura's passing still weighs heavy on my heart and mind, this as a last chapter reminds me of who he was creatively and the kind of spirit he must've had in general. It wasn't what was I was expecting, but much like Tranquil Dionysian, Now I couldn't imagine any other or better way.
I will always treasure the life-altering experience that Berserk has been for me and I'm sure there are others who feel the same. Thank you Mr. Dionysian for making this video and for sharing this with us in such detail.

Now that With Kentaro Miura is gone the Berserk Manga Series will looked like to have a cliff hanger as we may never know if Guts will finally have his final showdown with Griffith to avenger his fallen comrade during the eclipse. So are the writer planning to make Season 3 and take it from there by making up the end of the Berserk anime Series to an sure that Guts will face Griffith at last since there won't be in the Manga.

    We agree to disagree.
It's a beautiful chapter, the series can end here and it is respected and loved.
But I trust the team behind Miura, I know they were influenced greatly by him, especially considering it was one of his team members that drew Duranki.
