The song is ICONIC because of the legendary Stevie Wonder!! But these two voices made the new generation listen too. And the video is EVERYTHING!!!!!!!
There's a second at 2:04 where he points at her shoes and smiles - 😊Mary Blige's record company wouldn't allow them to put this on her album even though she wanted it - the homophobia was on fire here in the states and this wasn't long after he was busted in L.A. George was really angry about that decision because Blige did want it on her album. It is such a great tune - I love the concept. Was great to see her in his documentary released after his death (Freedom Uncut). His voice in the early part when he's walking into the room - gorgeous as always. He's the DJ in the very end - hadn't noticed that the first time I watched.
This is when George's relationship with Sony had really soured, they'd made a last ditch effort to salvage the situation, there were strong suggestions the record label to set George up, because he'd gone for awalk to cool off after a fight with his partner at the time, of course the press was all over it, it was by all accounts at the time a set up to destroy his career in the US, truly awful, how mean people can be.
A few days before George died he finished his documentary called Freedom. There's a clip where Stevie Wonder says that when he heard this song and what George had done with it he was in complete awe.
He's got a signature dance....like Tom Cruise has a run...check out George singing 'someone to love', the Queen song...he does it justice....such a cool guy..i mourn him everytime i hear a song from him....
You are ABSOLUTELY right. He is naturally cool. His swag was everything. It was EFFORTLESS without even trying. What makes it bad is that this man was humble, handsome, kind and he gave ALOT to charity. There are so many good things I could say about this wonderful man. Just miss him so. But we will have your music FOREVER.💜❤💯💯

Hi Ronni, how are you doing today?
Can’t listen to any of George’s songs without getting emotional...... I miss you George!😢🌷
Amazing artist. So many great songs. Rip George.
True. Watching and tearing up. I’ve only cried for George Michael and Prince. Both such a gift and gone too soon.
I lived ten miles from his house and rode there on my bike the day after he died, it was chaos with all the press but there was also a peace, an overall respect despite the amount of people, it was quite something

Wow. Thanks for sharing.
I know what you mean, so sad he isn't here anymore 😢😢😢
When you have two legends doing a duet you end up with a masterpiece like this one.
When you have two legends doing a duet *that was written by another legend* you end up with a masterpiece like this one. 👍

I can't believe he had gone.. His voice is eternal.. R.I.P George.. your careless whisper is always in my heart 🌷🌸🌹
He is in the sky near to God
God ,he was georgous. And one of best dancers ever 💋
The most handsome man ever inside and out.
I agree with that comment 💯%
George had everything, not only his music.. but looks kindness style etc.
💕
Yes, and always loved this duet...would make Stevie Wonder proud.
He’s beautiful omg!! His voice is sooooo beautiful!!
@@karnallsop9673 his kindness was off the charts. He did and gave so much to charity anonymously. He thought nothing of giving the royalties from a hit song to charity.
Korect☝️😘😘
WHAT?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? This man is absolutely mainline to pure singing magic that belongs in a different galaxy altogether…absolute, astonishing, jaw-dropping genius from George Michael

It is by Stevie Wonder. As I heard him first I like Stevie's version but the way Geroge did is very close to his.
May he RIP.
Indeed Ana and 1977 by Gene Harris.....RIP Michael.
An awesome duet! One of my favourites and I love his duets with Whitney and Aretha too. He brought great enjoyment and pleasure through his lyrical skills and beautiful voice. RIP George you will be missed and I love you for your music

Beautiful man. RIP George Michael. The World was Blessed to have you grace us with your talent and presence.
Hello 🤗, how are you doing
God he was BEAUTIFUL 😢❤❤
He could sing with any artist and it would be perfect, his voice was sent to us from heaven ♥️rest in peace beautiful soul❤️ always missing you
Stevie must've been very proud of both Mary and George doing an outstanding remake of one of his hits
He was He said he was in awww ... look at GM document freedom!
A few days before George died he finished his documentary called Freedom. There's a clip where Stevie Wonder says that when he heard this song and what George had done with it he was in complete awe.
Yes he gave permission for them to cover what happened to Mary j
NICE DANCE NICE VOICE
MrAntiSellOut definitely
George & Mary …. WOW, never get bored of this tune!!!!❤
George Michael is another one of the great vocalist of this generation . I put him among the greats like Luther Vandross , Marvin Gaye , Sam Cooke .
How come every new song of George that I discover becomes my favourite?
Because George Michael is the shit.
Because this is the magic of George Michael, every song is better than the other one :-)
Although it's Stevie wonder song
Angel cow boy
Because we love everything about him and his voice.
This man George Michael, his voice was out of this world 🔥🔥
So is he. But life is like that.
Hi faith, how are you doing
I love how George dancing....amazing.
Linda Stoklasová Exactly
Hi Linda, how are you doing?
The way Michael dances , pretty cool ...
He's got a signature dance....like Tom Cruise has a run...check out George singing 'someone to love', the Queen song...he does it justice....such a cool guy..i mourn him everytime i hear a song from him....
It's the George Michael dance. Very smooth and not overly flashy - just like the guy itself.
@@tissot233 Well said!
Great 2step.💖
He was cool period! He dripped cool everywhere he went.
He had some funky grooves! He was a looker, a singer, a writer and an amazing dancer! 😍❤️
Great one from the legendary Stevie Wonder ❤ and George and Mary
I'm still listening in 2024, absolutely fabulous 👌 👏

George, oh George Michael....! A fantastic man....
Hello friend, how're you doing today ??
Hi lela bela, how are you doing
He know he was a fine ass man with a beautiful soul.
Rhonda he did KNOW! Men & women always told him.😉
YES YES YES he was!!!! Too fine!!!💕
Girl, FINE DON'T COME NEAR!! THAN MAN WAS GORGEOUS🤣🤣💖
FINE AS HELL!
He looks so handsome in this suit!!! Superb!!! Great song!!!
AMEN that can be said again and again and again. Soooo true . RIP and I know your still singing now.
George Michaels was FINE!!
As a straight man, I say without regret, the silky soulfulness of his voice makes me weak.
You are just one among millions of others out there, my friend :) That voice came from the heavens and we won't find anything quite like it in our lifetimes at least.
Siddhartha Tripathy WORD!!! a talent like no other... what a pairing; GM & MJB... God sent!!!
Nah Brah!!He was my 🐈 too.But your verbiage is suspect!
Mary’s late 90s rasp is always my favorite ❤️
