As you know he was arrested for inappropriate sexual acts in public place in April 1998 and for hitting on a male undercover FBI-agent. A few months later he wrote this song, Outside, and made this video, which was released in October 1998, in which he basically says "F... you cops and authorities for your hypocrisy. I'm a human being and have the right to be who I want to be". He surely made his point. The song says it all. He basically didn't give a f... about the incident, and this video and the song even made him more popular.

I was very fortunate to see him in concert at the Wembley stadium in London, he was a great dancer and performer. There were also a lot of entertainers and celebrities who also came to watch him as fans and everyone was dancing and singing along like a huge party.
