great video mate thanks a lot. I have a problem with my headphones. I activated on the output section, but can't hear separate the one track....is this because i got an audio interface and a midi controller? Ps the audio interface and the midi controller are not connected together. Thank you
Hi - for main and headphone output you need a 4 channel sound device. It doesn't matter, if it is the built in on your controller or an external one. Usually you will have channels 1&2 for the main (speaker) and 3&4 for the headphone output. PS: don't get mis-leaded if your external 2 channel sound device has got a separate headphone volume knob. It still got only 2 channels so you get the same signal on all outputs.
Also besten Dank nochmals!🙂🙋
happy that it is useful to you and some other people - I always wanted to share my knowledge because in the user forum there are a lot of similar questions always coming up. Have fun!
I'm thinking of trying a linux setup. Does mixxx have a mapping for pioneer ddj ergo? I'm lazy and don't have the time, ability or inclination to do the mapping myself
Hey mister jib. There is no official one yet. Maybe someone is working on it as I saw a related topic inside the forum. It's not too difficult, making a mapping. I gonna record a video tomorrow for how to do it. Maybe you can find some time and help mapping that controller for this great open source piece of software.
Hi nice video! But I have an issue. Mixxx see my controller and have the mapping for it. I set it all up. But for some reason it’s not working. My controller is very old M-Audio Xponent.
I don't know really - as I am on Linux for 20 years I never really used commercial ones except when visiting friends and used their gear. Liked Traktor a lot and got several mapping ideas for my MC7000 from there as well. Besides that Mixxx in my point of view is more similar to Traktor than e.g. Serato etc....
I tried connecting my Hercules 300 MK2. It shows that it’s acknowledged but it isn’t synced. I’m unable yo use the controller. Any tips on how to get it to function?
Did you select the right mapping in the preferences? Also you may look at the user manual here manual.mixxx.org/2.3/en/hardware/controllers/hercules_djcontrol_inpulse_300
Good Tutorial! 👍🏾 So, if I have just the mix software, and no other equipment set up, how can I set it up so I cue the music in my headphones, separately from the music coming from the computer speakers?
Well, depends what sound chip you have got on your motherboard. If you have only a stereo out then you cannot. You need 4 channels, like 1&2 for main and 3&4 for cueing into headphone.
What issue? I don't know your computer... You can also assign one channel to master out and the second channel to headphone. You gonna have mono sound then of course. Or you buy an additional sound interface, like scarlet 4i4

Hello. How can I import bpm, key, time etc. analysis data from Serato? I don't want to run it through here as well.
I have never done that but a first hint should be the Mixxx user manual at manual.mixxx.org/2.3/de/chapters/library.html#using-the-serato-library. If you have special cases then don't hesitate to ask questions inside the Mixxx user forum. Developers and experienced users are very helpful there. Cheers!
on the Mixxx website you gonna find this news article mixxx.org/news/2021-02-08-new-in-2-3-serato-support/. Please do more google search on your own. Cheers!
Thank you for this tutorial. I use this on linux. The screensaver prevention does not seem to work. It does not matter how the setting is, the screensaver just keeps working when using auto-dj.
This sounds absolutely not right... Unfortunately I haven't got a solution right now. Maybe better to ask in the user forum @ mixxx.discourse.group/ - there you get help from developers as well. Maybe they have any hints... Please mention your Distribution, DE and Mixxx version you use. Hope you get it fixed. Cheers!
Then it is not officially supported. You may be lucky and find a user posted a mapping on the Mixxx user forum or map your controller yourself... Which one do you use? Maybe I can help finding the right way.

I recently did a fresh install of Linux mint and Linux lite, both based off of Ubuntu 20 and I'm now unable to change skins without it instantly crashing ....do you have any ideas ?
I guess you installed from the Ubuntu own repo. I'd strongly recommend to install the 2.3 beta from the Mixxx ppa. @@OsZ_DJ Thank you for the speedy reply, It was installed from the ppa i think it's a problem without ubuntu 20 ive reverted back 18.4 and all is good thanks again :)

Thanks a lot for your comment - I understand I am not a pro video dude. I know Mixxx but looking for words in a foreign language sometimes slows several things down. Also this is not only for Denon controllers. The settings are the same for other controllers you can pick from the list. You just have to chose the right one for mapping and sound output. Please understand that I cannot have all hardware to hand so one needs to adopt it for their special needs. Without information I couldn't say what's wrong but it could be your audio buffers are too low. Increase the value and try again.
