    • @SoundCodex
      @SoundCodex  4 месяца назад

      Hey, thanks for your comment! I think you're right. Listening carefully I noticed that the stereo image changed a bit when I used stereo link. Presumably a different eq curve is applied by default for left and right channels.

    • @DaGabbaGangsta
      @DaGabbaGangsta 4 месяца назад +1

      Yeah the stereo link works on the whole signal, rather than dual mono, left and right independent. To elaborate on this, let say you want to use that on a full mix, mastering. And you have an issue with something panned hard right or left, then switching to dual mono, you can treat that independently of the the other channel. Baring in mind it's a dynamics processor that plugin.

    • @DaGabbaGangsta
      @DaGabbaGangsta 4 месяца назад

      At the same I don't think engineer's will ever use that 100% stereo coupled of dual mono with out a good reason, more of a blend.

    Okay, so I have tested this plugin on postproduced mixdown of a finished song, and it actually did some "Gullfoss voodoo" magic on the signal. It actually gives clarity and more control than Gullfoss. They screwed up giving this away for free. LoLoLoL HOWEVER, I don't know if it does a BETTER job than Track Spacer 2.5.x on separate stems inside a DAW pre-mixdown.

    • @TheReal_E.IRIZARRY
      @TheReal_E.IRIZARRY 4 месяца назад

      UPDATE (10 MINUTES LATER ALREADY LoL):
      This plugin gives TrackSpacker 2.5.x COMP-PET-TI-TION. Just slap it on the Master Bus in the DAW and "bury" the "Masked Freqs" and it gives awesome clarity ITB!!!!! You see the "delta" in action. Actually, with TrackSpacer, you have to literally sidechain route the bad boy, but with The Masker, just put it on the Master bus, and you're golden. Thank you Milan U and Sound Codex. Holy *bleep in' *bleep! 🙂

    I probably just have to try this plugin for myself, but I am a bit confused on what you said about the "Clean Up" slider. You said that it will affect "mid-side" to the right and the "low end" to the left. I'm confused because I never thought a single slider would blend between M/S processing and Low End. Are you trying to say that the slider is mixing between Mid and the Sides? Is it a sidechain EQ?
    I'm very curious because I think the only thing this plugin lacks is a way to switch between Mid-Side and Stereo processing (applying the effect on just the Mid, without affecting the sides, is very handy for unmasking mono vocals against a stereo track) like Trackspacer.
    In any case, I'll just try it out for myself and experiment on it. Thanks for the video.
    EDIT: Upon watching more of the video, it seems that the "Clean Up" slider is controlling the number of bands. The more it is to the left, the wider the effect, however it is biased quite a bit to the low end. I guess what you meant to say in your explanation of the slider is "Mid Frequencies", not "Mid-Side"? Slide to the right focuses on the Mid frequencies, while to the left it adds more bands towards the low end.

    • @SoundCodex
      @SoundCodex  4 месяца назад +3

      Hi Anton, you are right, the Clean Up fader determines the number of bands! Sorry for my English, but I got confused. What I was trying to say was "Mid Frequencies" and not "Mid side". Thank you for bringing this to my attention and for taking the time to write this comment. 🙏

    • @SoundCodex

      I would not use the Masker for kick and bass. Just use a simple dynamic eq. In any case, you can insert the Masker in the bass track, send the kick in sidechain and, if you want the bass to be more present in your song, use "reveal masked freq". This will bring out those frequencies that the kick is masking on the bass. Also the voice was also fairly dominant already it would have beem good to lower its levek to make the burying effect more apparent, i found it very subtle (on in ears at the moment). In a dense mix those unmasking methods can be quite dramatic but you really need to have apparent burying for a clear demo,

      For crackling noises use it only in 44.1 Khz projects. If you are using it on FL Studio unfortunately there is not much you can do (other users have reported problems with that daw). As for using the plugin, I recommend watching the second video I made on Masker: ruclips.net/video/aDoqALthZfk/видео.htmlfeature=shared.

      It is not the plugin! There are two vocal takes playing simultaneously and I forgot to mute one of them 😩 Thank you for pointing this out to me.

      @glebprokudin2000, I cannot let you get away with that comment. Nope; it's not true simply because it's your soundsource that's the problem, I checked my separate stems in REAPER, and I used MetricAB in Correlation mode to check for that OOP (out-of-phase/anti-phasing) and it stays above 0, man. Use the M/S module in bx_masterdesk PRO or LeapWingAudio's StageOne v2 to Mono Spread all three major frequency bands to 50% capacity and dial back on the Width part and watch your material stay in phase/positive correlation while having The Masker plugin sidechained on the Master bus.

    very interesting.It was clearly better sounding with masker on but low end was a bit gone from both elements ?

    • @SoundCodex
      @SoundCodex  4 месяца назад +2

      Some phase issues were caused by my mistake. I forgot to mute one of the two vocal takes. Toward the end of the video thought, I decided to exaggerate the settings, and the Masker affected the low end as well. Thanks for your feedback!
